  • Miss Kensington

Bathing Beauty Makeup Bag ($80.00) (Limited Edition)

Featuring an iconic image of Jerry Hall shot by Norman Parkinson for Vogue on the edge of the Black Sea in 1975, this limited-edition vinyl makeup bag can double as a clutch in addition to being a truly fabulous place to store your makeup. Makeup, party, sleep, repeat.

Dreamy Glow Highlighter ($65.00) (Limited Edition)

The Dreamy Glow Highlighter is a soft, mood-lit highlighter that creates a peaches-and-cream glow. It’s the perfect blend of pearl and pigment to enhance your complexion, scattering light and opalescence across the features, transitioning skin from winter to golden summer in one easy swipe. The powder uses light flex technology to capture light and radiate it out across the skin for a dreamy, soft-focus effect. The glamorous, vintage-style compact features an image of Carmen dell’Orefice shot by Norman Parkinson for Vogue in the Bahamas in 1959.

Color of Youth Healthy, Happy Lip & Cheek Glow ($58.00) (Limited Edition)

Capture the youthful, soft-focus light of Parkinson’s lens, encased in the dreamy glamour of vintage Hollywood, with Color of Youth Health, Happy Lip & Cheek Glow. Inspired by the love story of Parkinson and his wife Wenda, who is pictured on the compact at Pigeon Point, Tobego, this lip and cheek formula emulates the delicate, rosy hue you seen in innocent, fresh cheeks, but that can be lost with age. This blush allows you to paint that glow back in. The creamy, blendable, weightless formula features microfine pigment technology that ensures high-color performance and a long-lasting finish. BerryFlux Vita increases hyaluronic acid to moisturize the skin, protecting the epidermis from dehydration.

FIlmstar Bronze & Glow Sun Tan & Sun Light ($80.00) (Limited Edition)

Inspired by the natural fall of sunlight and shade on the face, this limited-edition version of Filmstar Bronze & Glow slims, sculpts and highlights your features, creating a naturally glowing complexion. It was inspired by Norman Parkinson’s ability to capture light, channeling the effects of his youth-enhancing, soft-focus camera onto your skin for the perfect golden glow to enhance your facial framework. The cream textures have a fresh, dewy finish that’s perfect for summer. The compact features a photo shot by Parkinson of Jerry Hall for British Vogue taken on Montego Bay, Jamaica, in 1975.

On Call Bag ($45.00) (Limited Edition)

Featuring an iconic image of Jerry Hall shot by Norman Parkinson for British Vogue on Montego Bay, Jamaica, in 1975, this limited-edition vinyl makeup bag is perfect for toting to the beach in the summer packed with all of your necessary suncare and makeup, then out to dinner and a party with after. It also looks great on your bathroom counter.

I’m a sucker for LE packaging, and this is one of the best I’ve ever seen, but nothing to me is really worth the cost, since I rarely use cream cheek products. Maybe the powder highlighter but I’m sure I have something like it. 🙁

$80 for what seems to be a plastic makeup bag? Thanks, but “no thanks”. I often have issues with dead folks being “resurrected” for makeup collections. I know that in most cases, permission from “the estate” is required but I can’t help wondering much of the time if the dead person him or herself would actually like or approve of the products being hawked with their name on it or if, if still alive, they’d say “No” to the idea or the actual items.

Katie Avatar

I can’t vouch for the other models featured on the packaging, but Jerry Hall is very much alive. I agree that $80 is steep, though.

I gotta say, I’ve spent a lot of time looking into this collection for a lot of reasons, I love Charlottes products and think they are all really great and for the most part not too terribly expensive and also because I am a big sucker for Limited Edition collections and packaging in particular. As a photographer I also really enjoy Norman Parkinsons work as a whole. However I have yet to buy anything from this line because I’m just not sure anything is worth the price tag, with the exception of the lipsticks which I’m sure I’ll buy at least Miss Kensington, though I wonder if its really dupable.
But seriously why is the Bronze and Glow $80 vs the original $68, which I already feel is pretty expensive anyway. The cosmetic bags are extremely overpriced and so are the cheek products. The Highlighter looks gorgeous but why on earth is it $65 when I’m pretty sure a combination of Becca highlighters or even Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks will dupe it and be much cheaper.

But I do really hope that you get the chance to review these to see if anything is really worth the exorbitant price tag!

Totally agree. I have some of her eye shadow quads, 2 of the cream shadows and a few other items; but, I’ve been looking into this collection a lot in recent weeks, and I just keep passing on it. The prices are just so exorbitant, especially compared to her permanent range (which is already up there). I feel like I probably have enough highlighters to dupe this one, and I don’t think I’d get enough use out of this LE Filmstar Bronze & Glow, since the bronzing shade probably isn’t deep enough for my skin tone. I’m still considering the 1975 Red (coming to terms with the fact that I, apparently, cannot have too many red lipsticks), but I’m holding off until I can see swatches or swatch in person, to make sure I don’t have a dead-on dupe already.

Beautiful packaging, but I will never be a customer. (1) The prices are way to high. (2) I’ve watched several of CT’s YouTube videos, and I am so turned off at how pushy she is with her products. I will never purchase something that is forced on me.

The packaging is lux and so gorgeous! Appears to be a rose-gold tone. I will be interested in seeing how these do and reading your thoughts on these!

This is by far my favorite collection thus far as packaging is concerned. I do think a earlier release in the beginning or mid summer would have been more fitting though. I think all of Charlotte’s stuff is over priced a little. She did work with Tom Ford and I think she is a bit high on her horse because of that. That being said, she sells products and she makes some good stuff. She doesn’t hit it outta the park though every time. That’s why I don’t agree with her pricing.
But..I’m one of those suckers who fell head over heels for this collection. I love cream products , highlighters, and the packaging is to die for! I presaled it all except the large bag. $80 for a makeup bag was just too much for me right now after I got all the other stuff. But, I really prefer the other image on the smaller bag anyway.

I purchased the Miss Kensington “look” as it had both new items and items in the regular line that I was about to purchase. What I like the least: the Miss Kensington lipstick. The color does nothing for me, even with lip liner. What I love: the Youthful Glow cheek/lip tint. I love the color, that it is buildable and how perfectly it complements my other love: the Dreamy Glow Highlighter. I compared this to the highlighters in Bobbi Brown 3-blush palettes and CT’s Dreamy Glow Highlighter is more beautiful and subtly viewable. Just gorgeous! Yes, the price is hefty however I use much less of CT’s products, and shelled out for an Hourglass blush a few weeks ago that had it’s own price sticker moment! I’m on the fence for the bronze and glow remake. The colors, especially the ‘bronze’ would be a better compliment to my skin tone than the original, so I might try it on in the store.

What brought me to CT was the finely milled pressed powder and it’s companion brush. They make my skin look flawless. I’m experimenting with the Eyes to Mezmorize and am liking them. I can’t seem to apply any gel eyeliner well, including CT’s. I’m chalking that up to me.

I’m buying seconds of the CT Youthful Glow and Dreamy Glow Highlighter for me and gifting a Youth & Glow cheek tint.

I can’t tell if Charlotte Tilbury is stuck on herself or ultra-delusional. These products are not unique, and Ms. Tilbury not God’s gift to (wo)mankind. Just because she slaps her name on the product doesn’t make it amazing, and her formula and color selection isn’t amazing enough to justify the price that she’s asking. She’s at NARS level, if that good, but asking for Giorgio Armani prices.

Now… how long do we think it will be before she bottles her own sweat and sells it as the Charlotte Tilbury Eau de Toilette?

Laura Avatar

I have to say that I do like a lot of the Charlotte Tilbury line, but I really don´t fancy this packaging at all. I think it is a bit gimmicky, and only makes the cost higher for her products. The original packaging in my opinion is luxurious and chic. But I am thinking about the the blush !!!

Allie Avatar

First, let me say that I think CT is good, but pretty darn over-hyped and overpriced. I especially find her packaging extremely cheap looking and feeling. That said, the colors and packaging of this collection drew me in…and I possibly have more $ than sense sometimes. It did not disappoint and are by far my favorite products of hers. The packaging is gorgeous and more sturdy than her other things I’ve tried. The cream blush is gorgeous…it also does look nice on my lips, but longevity is an issue (on lips). The highlighter is really really pretty, but I bet dupable. The first ingredient is talc for anyone opposed to that. Are the products worth their price tags? Maybe not…depends on how much you value the packaging, IMO…I’m very happy, though.

Mo Avatar

I like her products, but these are just unjustifiably expensive. If you buy the collection at Charlotte Tilbury, it’s a mere $385. Seriously? Norman Parkinson is an icon, but I would rather buy a print from the Norman Parkinson Archive than spend $80 on a plastic cosmetic bag.

We don’t have Charlotte Tilbury in Portugal but I’m actually waiting for 2 eyeshadow pencils a friend of mine is going to send me from London, that are supposed to bem reallyyyyyy nice! I think it’s a high price tag (more or less 25 euros each) but okay..I know how to appreciate its value. But, to see these prices, just hurts my eyes!! Really??? $80 for a plastic makeup bag??? More expensive than the highlighter? Someone has gone mad in that Charlotte Tilburys company……

Candice Avatar

I never seriously look into CT products because they are just SO expensive, I can’t justify it in my mind, no matter the quality. That bag is so cute though, I really am attracted to it. I love the picture with the phone, it reminds me of my hijabi friends who talk on their cell phone with ti held in place with their headscarf 😉

clidre Avatar

I’ve purchased Miss Kensington, because I was looking for a rosy nude with her matte formulation (that seems to be the best matte formula ever). I was doubting between Miss Kensington and Nars Barbara. The price is the same, so I preferred to try Tilbury’s formulation. The bag is too pricey, but the lipsticks are aligned with competitors. I like the blush, too, but I should have the same effect with my Colourpop Jellyfish 🙂
