Sneak Peek: Sephora Overcast Filter & Sunbleached Filter Palettes Photos & Swatches
Sephora Overcast Filter Colorful Eyeshadow Palette
Sephora Colorful Eyeshadow Palettes ($32.00 for 0.398 oz.) came out in two varieties, Overcast Filter and Sunbleached Filter, both inspired by the filters so many of us use when posting to social media these days. Here are some swatches to check out while I work on testing them!

These are both so pretty! I do wish they hadn’t repeated Black Lace in both – they could have gone for a deep brown in the Sunbleached palette!
Sorry, the images were repeated, please refresh the post.
Oh haha, I didn’t notice! They look great, I think I might pick them both up!
Ooooh, these colors may show up on me! I took one look and thought they’d be too light on me. I use your skintone as a guide for my asian olive one 🙂
Glad I can help 🙂
What colors from the Sunbleached eyeshadow palette did you use for your eye look? So pretty!
Hey Jennifer!
Gotta get the info for you, but it’ll for sure be in the review (it’s written down in my notes) 🙂
Oh that’s a really pretty palette, nothing too flashy but it looks solid.
They seem like the type of palette that could be very useful if you don’t have dupes, but we’ll see!
Well, they swatched better than I expected, hope they perform well. I’m only interested in a few colors (happy days, getaway, sandy toes ) but not the whole kit , so will be looking at your dupes.
I also have to check to see which shades are part of their regular line – I think they pulled in a couple but most are “new.”
I love half of them, and the other half I’d never use. I wish I could just combine the ones that I’d use into one palette.
Awwww!
I was so interested in the Sunbleached filter palette. But I am not sure if they will show up on my medium skintone. Sephora shadows usually are quite powdery and lacking in pigmentation. What do you think Christine?
Review will be up soon, hopefully!
Do these look like partial UD dupes to anyone else? My first thought when I saw the Overcast Filter palette was that it looks like a shade-for-shade dupe for Naked Smoky (minus 2 shades)! Really pretty palettes. Kind of anxious to hear what you think now. If they’re decent palettes, I might just get the Sephora one and hold on the UD one until later (obviously after it’s released).
I can see some similarities for sure!
Oh for some reason I thought they were eye and face palettes! That would have made the whole filter idea more interesting imo, if some pans where all over face powders to create a filtered effect (kind of like Too Faced’s one).
Initially I thought so, too!
I absolutely love the packaging of these. My mind was set on Sunbleached Filter, but these swatches don’t look so great, especially the peachier tones which Imwas most interested in. :/
Awww!
I’m pleasantly surprised by these! I tend to overlook Sephora’s collection because, I’ll admit it, I’m kind of a snob. These palettes look like the perfect example of why I shouldn’t do that.
How is it that Sephora can come up with two unique, high-quality palettes at a readonably affordable price, yet a juggernaut like NARS is still putting out so-so palettes for two to three times as much (their fall palettes for example). So confused.
I’ve liked a lot of their Colorful Eyeshadow range from what I’ve tried, so I’m hopeful for these!
I love the packaging. I ordered these late Friday night. The swatches look pretty good. I’ve got my fingers crossed that the quality is good !
Fingers and toes crossed!
The hashtag and “selfie” marketing makes me cringe, though the colors aren’t bad.
But really, though, I don’t see how using an eyeshadow palette is going to recreate the look of Instagram filters or whatever people are using these days. Don’t most people who use the sunbleachy options basically want to wash out the contrast on their whole face, to look free of wrinkles (and noses)?
I don’t think the palette was intended to necessarily give you the look of filters? But were inspired by the colors created by them. I know I use filters for the effect on the saturation/desaturation of colors or making something look vintage when it’s not, but I definitely don’t use them to wash out my face (though I don’t really use things like Instagram for face photos so maybe that’s why!).
Maybe I’ve just become the internet version of an old lady, waving my walking stick / keyboard at the young folks. “In my day, brown eyeshadow was just called brown! Maybe chocolate if we were getting extra saucy! Tbt? What is that, a frog noise?”
Ah, well. I’ll try to appreciate these for what they are. 🙂
No worries, I have reached the point where I can’t adopt any of the new slang. I don’t mind others using it, but I feel ridiculous if I use it 😉
Hahaha! This comment made my day.
I ended up ordering the sunbleached one, but looking at your swatches, several of the colors seem similar to each other. Guess I’ll have to wait and see it for myself.
I really like the idea of using filters as inspirations and not for actual effects. And these are nice palettes; I’ve been quite impressed with the Sephora products I’ve picked up lately, so I’m looking forward to your reviews.
A lovely palette for those who love mattes and neutrals. But not for me.
The shadows actually look pretty decent. Black Lace looks patchy though. Still, these look better than I thought they would. I’m curious to see the review. I own a few of Sephora’s older singles, but don’t have a lot of experience with their eyeshadows.
I purchased the overcast without swatches of it because i loved the case and thought it would be super pretty but it was way too cool toned for my skin it was looking ashy and i returned it…I was bummed
Looks lovely! I’ll be in France soon and definitely plan on making a stop at Sephora!
Hot. Definitely going to pick one up on the next Sephora run.
I’m not really feeling either one!
waiting on these reviews haha
