Becca G*psy Mineral Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
Becca G*psy Mineral Blush
Becca G*psy Mineral Blush ($32.00 for 0.20 oz.) is described as a “ballerina pink.” It’s a light-medium, cooler-toned pink with warmer gold shimmer that gives it a soft, frosted sheen. Illamasqua Lies (P, $26.00) is more shimmery, lighter. Edward Bess Filled with Desire (P, $43.00) is less shimmery, darker. Giorgio Armani Eccentrico (LE, $88.00) is warmer. Charlotte Tilbury Love Glow (P, $40.00) is darker, warmer. MAC Azalea in the Afternoon (LE, $27.00) is warmer. Sleek MakeUP Icing Sugar (P, $6.99) is less shimmery, darker. ColourPop Boba (P, $8.00) is more shimmery, darker, cooler. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
It had decent to good color coverage that was buildable from semi-sheer to semi-opaque with a strong sheen. It’s the type of blush that looks as if you applied a separate highlighter over your blush, because the underlying color seems less connected to the warmer sheen. The texture was blendable but a little powdery, slightly dry, though it looked good on the skin. It wore well for seven and a half hours on me before fading along the upper cheek area.
Formula Summary | Becca Mineral Blush ($32.00 for 0.20 oz.) is supposed to be a “delicate powder blush” with a “buildable formula” that gives a “natural-looking, flushed appearance.” They typically have a soft, creamy consistency that is a little denser than the average powder but not truly dense. Some of the very shimmery shades feel a little dry compared to the more pearly ones. I found the formula to be incredibly easy to apply and blend on the skin without any need for special tricks; they felt very grab-and-go, the kind of blush where there’s no fight to diffuse and soften edges or get even coverage. They are more pigmented than what I’d term as “buildable,” which some will appreciate, some will be disappointed by. The wear ranges from seven to nine hours with the brighter and more satin-to-matte shades lasting longer. My favorite part of the formula is the luminous sheen they give to the skin, so they don’t look too shimmery on the skin. I think if you find Becca’s pressed highlighters to be too shimmery, you may find their blushes more up your alley with respect to finish.

Can you tell me if this is a reformulation and something new? I have Gipsy for a few years already and I’m not sure if it’s still the same. However, the color and effect look the same…
Hi Magi,
As far as I can tell, the ingredient seems about the same, but the packaging is different from the only blush I had from Becca a few years ago. I do not have this shade from before.
Thanks Christine…
er pretty! I find beccas blushes too pigmented for me to easily use, but this one could work for me!
Arg I got cut off! The first sentence is “this is super pretty”
I think it could!! 🙂
The swatch is so pretty, but I’m worried the frosty shimmer might emphasize my pores, will have to swatch in store. And Boba is still out of stock 🙁
I can’t believe how long Boba has been out of stock!
Me either. I was hoping to order it during my last 2 order placements, and I have a 3rd Cart waiting for me, but figured I’d wait a week to see if Boba became available. Been 5 days with Cart patiently waiting…..
I have checked for Boba daily, except those 3 days I lost in the hospital. I even checked in the wee hours before my surgery. No Boba! I’m wondering if it’s coming back!
Whille I’m here- catching up. Christine, what’s your take on this shades formula and skin that may lean dry? You mentioned it was powdery. I remember swatching some of these and being put off by that.
I think these will still work on drier skin 🙂
Waaaay late to the party but I have very dry skin and these are my favourite blushes.
Never too late Clare! Thanks for the comment. I haven’t bought any yet! I’ll keep them on my wishlist because my skin has been dry lately and heading into Fall, I know that will just linger.
OMG-I LOVE this.
The finish is really pretty!
Oh, man. This is beautiful!
It is!
That’s really pretty. I realized yesterday that although I have a ton of blush, I don’t have much pink. I might have to pick this up.
Always nice when you find a little hole in your collection… because then there’s a part of you that’s like, “Oh, that’s where I can focus in on!”
It gives such a beautiful sheen/glow on your cheeks Christine!
Thank you, Grace! 😀
This is such a lovely shade of pink. I like the subtle flush of color it gives.
It is a nice one!
What’s the best brush to apply these with? I tried Gypsy in the past and it barely showed up on my light-medium skin but Gypssy looks great on you!
I’m not sure 🙁 I swatched about 15 blushes that day (for swatches), so I used 15 different brushes!
Ok thanks Christine! Love all your reviews!
Oh, this looks very pretty on you! Very soft and luminous.
Thank you, Melissa!
This shade is so incredibly beautiful! I love it! On me, though, this would work more as a highlighter I think? So I am still *patiently* waiting on ColourPop Boba to finally be made available, as I think it has enough depth for my Tarte Medium Honey, MAC C4.5 skin.
I could see it as a highlighter, too!
Almost looks like there’s a duochrome effect. Very pretty!
Almost! 🙂
It’s amazing with the gold sheen in it, but I’ll probably just wait till Boba is back in stock at ColourPop.
I hope you can snag Boba soon 🙂
I’m in no hurray. I want it, but I’ll live if I have to wait. It would be nice if Boba and some of the new liquid lipsticks came back in stock at the same time.
Bourjois Rose D’Or might be a dupe for this of the top of my head but with more subtle shimmer
Awesome!
Very pretty! I just received “Flowerchild” and it looks lovely!
YAY!
Very pretty!
It is!
This is the Becca blush that least interests me, but you do look wonderful wearing it here!
Thank you, Tessa!
I have a Becca loose shimmer powder called Gypsy – it looks sort of like this, definitely has the gorgeous gold sheen but this seems lighter and cooler. Mine has a deeper berry tone.
But it’s still super pretty!
Deeper berry, you say… sounds even prettier.
Pretty. I wonder if the gold is as perceptible in person!
It is, but it’s not over the top!
I guess based on the possible dupes in the swatch gallery that Gentle by Mac is a litter bit deeper and plummier? When I first looked at the swatches of Gypsy, I was so sure Gentle was a dupe! I guess that’s why you’re doing the comparisons and I’m not! 🙂
Gentle is definitely in the realm – it has that similar cooler base + golden shimmer feel to it! 🙂
BEAUTIFUL color, but why did they feel the need to use a racial slur to name it? 🙁 it makes me sad.
I think another reader mentioned that they’re names of butterflies, but I’m not sure if that’s the reference or not.
This is beautiful!
Agreed!
I’m always so impressed when I see reviews of Becca products but have yet to own one thing from the brand. Perhaps these blushes will change that. 🙂
Maybe one day 😀
Wow, that looks amazing on you! I’ve been on my very first no buy but *beep* that! I need this blush and hope it looks half that flattering on my pasty skin!
How long is your no-buy going to be for, Bonnie?
It was going to be 3 months but I failed miserably lol
I immediately ordered this after I saw your review and oh my gosh this is the most gorgeous blush ever! I’m normally a matte or a satin kinda girl when it comes to blushes but this shimmer is everything, I find the shade to be really unique and it looks really pretty on the skin. Surprisingly this didn’t even emphasize my pores too much. Good job, Becca! 🙂
So happy to hear you’re enjoying it, Nicola!! 🙂
This blush is so beautiful but I know it’s not going to show up well on my NW45 skin.
There are probably better options than this one for NW45!
