NYX Sorbet Intense Butter Gloss
NYX Sorbet Intense Butter Gloss ($5.99 for 0.27 fl. oz.) is a brightened, light-medium pink-coral with warm undertones and a cream finish. It had fairly opaque coverage, but the gloss was a little thinner and pulled into lip lines. It applied evenly, though, which was a plus. On me, this shade stayed on well for four hours. Bite Beauty Six (Watercolor) (LE, ) is brighter. Chanel Sensible (15) (P, $34.00) is darker, more muted. MAC Bijou (LE, $15.00) is lighter. Dior Tiny Pink (269) (P, $35.00) is darker, cooler. NARS Belize (P, $26.00) is darker, more muted. MAC Go for Girlie (LE, $20.00) is cooler. Maybelline Caramel Infused (065) (P, $8.99) is darker. NYX Apple Strudel (P, $5.00) is lighter. NYX Maple Blondie (P, $5.00) is cooler. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
NYX Napoleon Intense Butter Gloss ($5.99 for 0.27 fl. oz.) is a medium, lightly brightened pink with warm, yellow undertones and a cream finish. It had mostly opaque pigmentation that applied evenly. There was some emphasis of lip lines, but it was slight and I didn’t notice it in person (only in the close-up photos). This shade wore for four hours on me and was neither drying nor hydrating. MAC Kiss & Don’t Tell (LE, $15.00) is more muted, cooler. MAC Star Quality (LE, $20.00) is darker, warmer. Maybelline Celestial Coral (010) (P, $8.99) is darker. Maybelline Caramel Infused (065) (P, $8.99) is lighter. Dior Rieuse (373) (P, $35.00) is darker, warmer. Dior Tiny Pink (269) (P, $35.00) is lighter. YSL Grenade Pepite (No. 15) (P, $32.00) is darker. Chanel Sonate (178) (P, $29.50) is darker, warmer. Bite Beauty Ten (Watercolor) (LE, ) is lighter, more muted, cooler. Dior Tropiques (379) (P, $35.00) is darker, warmer. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
NYX Orangesicle Intense Butter Gloss ($5.99 for 0.27 fl. oz.) is a brightened, medium orange with warm, red undertones and a cream finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that covered evenly and smoothly. It was easy to apply, and the color wore well for five hours on me. The formula was comfortable but neither drying nor hydrating. Guerlain Tangerine Vlam (P, $30.00) is more shimmery, lighter. MAC Morange (LE, $15.00) is darker. Illamasqua Temper (P, $22.00) is darker. MAC Ablaze (LE, $15.00) is more shimmery, darker. MAC Laundry List (LE, $15.00) is darker, more muted. Urban Decay Punch Drunk (P, $22.00) is darker, more muted. NARS Wonder (P, $26.00) is lighter. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Formula Summary: NYX Intense Butter Gloss ($5.99 for 0.27 fl. oz.) is supposed to be a very pigmented gloss that “keeps lips soft and glossy without being sticky.” They are typically very pigmented, but some shades apply better than others; when they apply well, they’re really a great option for anyone who likes their gloss more pigmented. They have a medium-weight consistency that is heavier than the original Butter Gloss formula with light tackiness that develops over time. It’s not hydrating but not usually drying either. The gloss wears four hours on me on average, and the formula has a slight vanilla scent to me, but it seems a little synthetic (something off about it) but had no discernible taste to me.

The pinks are so pretty. Not much of a gloss fan, but these earned a second look and the price is right.
I either like mine super opaque or ultra sparkly, but I’m not much for in-between!
I am the same way. Don’t own more than like 5 glosses… I like them if they are super opaque or just a glossy nude for a lazy day. I really like these though! I would prefer Orangesicle in a lipstick form but the other two colors are definitely on my list to try out!
I like Napoleon on you. Orangesicle is missing the letter rating. What is that eye shadow you are wearing in the last picture? So pretty
I can’t remember!
I was wondering about your eyeshadow too! It’s very pretty & reminds me of MUFE I-918 (Lavender)—which I have, but have yet to wear—inspiration! 😀
I really like the look of these. Unfortunately, opaque glosses are not my favorite. I always manage to get them everywhere. I would still think about picking up one shade that performs particularly well during one of their buy one get one 50% off sales. I like the look of Napoleon.
I can understand that 🙂
They look so pretty!!! Especially sorbet and Napoleon 🙂
They are!
Such pretty, summery colors!
Agreed!
Napoleon and Orangesicle look so pretty on you! I actually have Orangesicle and I’ve never worn it. Think I’m gonna pop it on today
Thank you, Fancie!
I think the Napoleon and Orangesicle are my favorites here. I LOOOOVE Nyx glosses! I can’t wait to pick these up.
Woohoo! Hope you love these 😀
All these look great on you! I wish I could pull off all colours like you do 😛 I really like Sorbet and Napoleon shades, I already have a lot of pink lipsticks (so far haha) but hey a girl can never have enough pink lippies right 😀
I bet you could 😉
Napoleon looks really pretty! Not too long ago I tried my very first NYX Butter Gloss and I really liked the formula.
Hope you can try more shades!
I’ve Napoleon and Banana Split on this new formula while I think they’re good but I still disappointed that they’re lack of buttery texture that I love. 🙁
I could understand that! They’re not quite the same in feel as the originals.
I’m surprising myself by liking Orangesicle the best, I should like Napoleon the best, but no, not htat I dislike it, no, not at all. I think it’s because Orangesicle is so sunny and bright. I must go and take a look at the miniature store that is our NYX-store.
I hope you can find ’em, Helene!
Love Sorbet and Napoleon! Def gong to be looking for these on my next Ulta run! Might even go out of my way for them… Thanks Christine!
No problem, Cory! xo
Love these shades!
They are fun! 🙂
Can’t wear but they all look great on you! 🙂
Thanks, Lotus!
Sorbet is exactly my color! I need it
Yay!
I’m really impressed with these for the price point, especially pigmentation-wise.
Pigmentation is great 😀
Are you planning on also reviewing Toasted Marshmallow, Tres Leches, and Spice Cake? I’m trying to decide which other shades to pick up since I already have Berry Strudel 🙂
I think I have those, but I can’t remember off the top of my head.
I just discovered NYX products a few weeks ago and I’m obsessed!!!
Awesome!
