Haul: Burberry Lip Mist in a Blueberry, MAC Huggable lip color in Flaming Lips

Weekend Plans: I am forever working!

Favorite thing to cook: Not a fan of cooking…pancakes, maybe?

Lotus Avatar

Yes! I just ordered Two Lip Mists in Oxblood and Blueberry! I’m sure blueberry would be gorgeous on you, Christine! I opted for the more moisturizing sheer jelly finish in colors suitable to just making my own lip color look healthy and moist. As opposed to a matte. But that’s still on my list! Thanks to you! 🙂 Thank you, btw. No more UPS! 😀

Veronica Avatar

Aye, Cafe Makeup reviewed it awhile back, and it’s the shade I went for after I found out Claret was discontinued. Kind of a vampy berry-purple shade with a sheer finish. Quite pretty!

Aww, nap time for Mellan?
**Haul – Hello Kitty palette in Mon Amour -the one where the balloons have shadows and blushes. Came out years ago, but I saw it on Sanrio and Ebates had 16% cash back. The blushes are ok, the shadows are horrible, but it’s so cute-looking, that I had to have it. Love Hello Kitty
**Weekend plans – lunch with friend, then work, and more work 🙁
**Favorite thing to cook – Tri Tip!

Haul- Omorovicza Copper Peel, Bioderma makeup remover, Guerlain rouge automatique in Fleur de feu, Hourglass powder in Diffuse, Sephora sun set, Nars Matte in Montego Bay, Nars lippies Barbarella and Tolede, LM lip liner in naked, Moroccanoil conditioner, and like 30 different mini bottles of essie nail polish for my bridal shower party favors…. holy crap, that’s a lot.

Weekend plans: I suffered a back injury this week, so mostly bed rest. (This might explain the insane online shopping- I’ve been out of work all week!) Maybe some light house cleaning if I’m able, because with fiancé at the helm, my house is starting to look like a bachelor pad.

Cooking: I LOVE to cook. Biscuits and gravy, any kind of pie, I just can’t decide!

Lotus Avatar

Aww! Congratulations on getting married! I’m sorry you’re injured and hope you’re a swift healer! I spend a lot of time in bed and I can attest to that being a deterrent in my buying! It’s a pick me up! I’m not being a nude cam girl or anything.. What’s the harm? I sincerely hope your haul makes you smile & your pain is being handled, and I forgot before, but your comment in the trend post is exactly how I look at things. 🙂 Enhance what we have. 🙂 I loved what you said. Take care! 🙂

Sarah Avatar

Thank you! That’s so sweet of you!! In a way I’m glad this injury happened now because I’m getting married in 5 weeks!! At least it means that with plenty of physical therapy and healthy exercise I’ll be healthy as a horse for my wedding.

Also, what are your thoughts on byTerry foundation? I wanted to try it for bridal makeup, but the pushy salesperson at Barneys was INSISTING the Cle de Peau was so much better, I wound up walking out with nothing. I will probably go with my old faithful RCMA palette.

Lotus Avatar

You’re welcome! I wish I could be of help regarding foundation but we are all unique and therefore have unique experiences from others. This is your wedding day. I can’t be a voice of any responsibility for your special day! I suggest you take in containers and ask for samples so you can get a feel for how the match and wear work with your skin. They should give samples, maybe a friend could do it? Nordstrom sends them for free! There are many foundations famous for bridal wear. I will say the CdP wears longer! I want you to be happy and comfortable after trying things out for a pre-go at it so that you make the decision. Our skin surface is not identical so I really can’t identify your perfect comfort on your special day though I wish I could help more! Rachel is very kind at beautyprofessor.net and is a foundation maven! Her love for them is extensive and she’d be so happy to help! The easiest way to communicate with her is Instagram but you can find her, I’m sure sh can better assist you and I feel comfortable with that. 🙂 Rachel Anise aka Beautyprofessor . Please heal, order online, Barney’s take tested items back, just don’t stress. You’re going to be gorgeous. Armani Luminous Silk is fabulous and Koh Gen Do is brilliant for those high def and photo moments. I hope I aided somewhat! Best of everything to you. xx

Lotus Avatar

Ps. I’m unwell so just trying to get to most urgent comments, so while here I wanted to acknowledge all you shared with me about DE, and I agree with you fully. The THC framboos night serum (AHA Glycolic one you love) is a miracle. I had s freak acne episode for my first time ever and at 33. It got worse. I tried everything. DE total regimen finally slowed it and the AHA you mention IS THE BEST! It only went so far before I was not receiving results consistently any longer and I then traded to Sunday Riley Good Genes. IMMEDIATE RELIEF. It’s amazing what my new routine has done just this far! I’m smooth but the dark pigmentation is so harsh on my fairest of skin. Grrrrr. Juno did nothing at all for me. Weird, right? Luna has/is and then the Bionic moisturizer. Thankfully I procured these during the VIB event and store credit just paid for another Good Genes! But as for oils, other than shu cleansers, my face has rejected all but the DE and it’s beautiful. If you detest the glitter in the SPF, I’d like to extend the idea to try the Radical brand SPF 30. Best thing ever!! It feels so good! No shimmer, no reaction! I’ve never felt this way about a spf. Life changer for skin! Much better under makeup! 🙂 anyway, I must go, but I’m happy the CEO reached bad to you after their product made you so grateful. That’s classy and kind. Bless you. Xx

Haul: MAC Huggable Lipcolour in Fashion Force, I’m Game & Love Feeling. I’m loving the sheer, glossy colour & it works better for me during the day/ at work. I also got MAC Wash & Dry Freshen Up highlight powder, Crisp Whites blush, Morange lipstick & Laundry List lipglass. From murale.ca I got a Tata Harper body oil and body lotion value set. And finally from the Bay online, I got the Chanel Lumière D’été bronzer & Guerlain LE Terracota bronzing powder with the turquoise case.
Weekend plans: Well I can finally tell you about last weekend so I’ll do that instead! 🙂 Last weekend my bf and I went to Las Vegas for our 5 year anniversary, and we eloped 😀 It was planned, and we had told our parents & siblings about a month ago, but didn’t tell anyone else until after we were back from the trip. The wedding was very small (no guests) at the Luxor chapel (we stayed there too, so it was easiest) and we just wondered around the Strip & went for a lovely supper the rest of our day. Telling everyone else this week has been so fun, and our friends & family have shown so much love and support! This weekend we’ll go for a celebratory supper with my mom, and go to a friend’s birthday party.
What’s your favorite thing to cook?: Hmm I’m not much of a cook but I guess I’d say a burrito/ rice bowl http://damndelicious.net/?s=burrito+bowl

Meghan Avatar

Thanks Christine! It was so fun & totally suited us! I’m very grateful to have family & friends that supported our decision (even if they mostly found out after the fact 😉 ). I’m sure weddings can be so stressful since there’s a lot to plan – I just hope everyone gets to have the wedding day they want! 🙂

Lotus Avatar

Aww! Mellan finds such luxurious ways to make comfort look so inviting! So lovable! Ah! Christine, I wasn’t able to snag the givenchy! The floral was gorgeous! The color so perfect! I’m glad you got it! 🙂
•Haul: ColourPop Blushes & Highlighters galore, plus a Hangul of their eyshadows and a few lip pierced stick w/ a pencil, CdP foundation, By Terry foundation, theBalm desert, Cindy, some Lipstick Queen, Marc Jacobs Mod Noir, and other things have been returned.
•Weekend plans: I’m still recovering! But I’m happy! 🙂
•What’s your favorite thing to cook?: I’m a pro omelette maker! That and my artichoke cheese seafood dip! 🙂 Oh, large cookies! It’s all about altering the temperature and time! Delicious! 🙂

Lotus Avatar

That’s true, but I’d rather have it with the floral if at all. It is reminiscent of my mother’s quilt. Sentimental 😉 OH MY! My cookies!!! I do miss baking them! We are talking perfection in at least 5 inch wide dis get, 1/2 inch thick in center, slightly tapering outwards. The perfect amount of crunch and moist softness! Ugh soooo good! Not one to brag but I’m darn proud I figured out cookies! I made them for everyone! I preferred cooking for others. My omelettes had tons of layers with a pristine carmel swirl on the flip side. Cooked but not too runny or overdone. Are you a cookie person? I sure am! 🙂

Haul: Chanel Laurier Rose, which I am loving (especially paired with UD Lost in the crease)
Weekend Plans: Helping parents move out of our old house
Favourite thing to cook: My cooking skills pretty much begin and end with super basics like scrambled eggs…

Olivia Avatar

Haul: MAC lipstick in Girl About Town, it’s actually for my sister-in-law but I’m tempted to keep it. But I won’t…

Weekend plans: Celebrating our first year anniversary. My brother is having a cookout for my husband and I and my parents’ anniversary on Saturday. We will celebrate together as a family! And then hubby will take me to a fancy restaurant on Sunday. Excited to try it! We have Monday off so I will be chilling in my parents’ pool working on my tan (it’s about time).

Favorite thing to cook: Italian creamy dish with mushrooms, sausage, and peas. It is AMAZING and everybody loves it when I make it!… except my husband who hates mushrooms and peas. WHY!

Happy Friday and hello Mellan you beautiful couch potato 🙂 I usually do not participate in the Friday haul posts since that would entail me to ‘fess’ up to all my purchases. I wanted to post this Friday to provide a bit further feedback on CT shadows and my experience with same.

Haul: Charlotte Tilbury cream shadows: I picked up Mono Lisa (the bronzey brown) and Cleopatra (the teal). I found these a little trickier in application than Tom Ford, but I did not experience any of the weird creasing shown in Christine’s photographs from her review. I found the product sheered out a lot with brush application so I used a softer brush than I normally use for cream to apply a thin base layer which I extended a bit beyond and blended into crease. Then I took my finger and patted on more product with a tapping motion on lid to intensify and bring up the shimmer level mostly around the lash line, but not quite extending into crease. The CT cream shadows holds very well and true on me all day long until I remove makeup p.m. I do not have greasy lids, I do not use primer, but I do have some texture from aging which this product does not emphasize. I love both of these colours, they have a beautiful depth. The Tom Ford product is so effortless in both application and wear, it certainly deserves the raves, but I have to say I do not mind the extra work with CT to expand my cream shadow holdings with a couple of really pretty options.

Weekend Plans: I am on a late spring clean-up mission. All of our crops are in the ground so now I can concentrate on the house for a few weeks. I’m pulling together a big Goodwill package with denims, shoes, handbags I am no longer making use of. I could make the effort to sell on eBay, but I would rather donate. I just worry someone else grabs the ‘good’ stuff from these Goodwill hauls and makes some easy bucks on the side by doing the same. This is my level of trust in the motives of others.

Favourite thing to cook: everything and anything. I bake bread and rolls and cook about 95% of our food from absolute scratch. I’m turning into a serious foodie and hate the taste (I should say lack thereof) of prepared foods. I like to know and choose what we are eating.

Have a good weekend all!

Big nice cozy bed! My dog would be in heaven…she takes the couch! lol..so annoying!
Haul: Tons of CoulourPop stuff arrived minus my Coconut shadow which has made me sad. Hoping they have one hidden and will fix it and cheer me up. What are the odds though?. On the Up: Tom Ford Nude Dip(OMG!) ,Tom Ford primer, TF stick foundation #5,Tom ford Traceless foundation #5 ,Mac wash n dry pre sale stuff: Freshen up powder; Morange lipstick; Domestic diva ;Hot/cold; and laundry list lip glasses, and the 125SE brush. Sephora lip gels in deep rose and fresh peach, and the Sephora Sun safety kit. I am really wanting to get the hair kit too!

Weekend Plans: I have a lot of work to get caught up so I can be off Monday for the Holiday, lol. It makes no sense. Other than that, usual soccer games on sat. and running my daughter to her events. I have a friend in form Seattle so we will be going to see her on Sat. evening. Trying to straighten up the house and do the laundry that never stops. I feel like I am always talking about laundry. It’s really ironic because I have this Mac stuff sitting here so I could look at the names, lol.

favorite thing to cook: I don’t like to cook. So anything easy. Crock pot stuff, pastas. I like to bake more than cooking . I usually cook 2 dinners because my daughter is at that stage of “picky eating”..it makes cooking no fun.
Have a good weekend! 🙂

Christine Avatar

LOL! He’s not allowed on the couches we have in the family room (the dog just… sheds… endlessly), but he has two oversized dog beds, plus his original just-right-size for him curled up dog bed, AND the chaise/sofa in my office. I think he should be pleased, haha.

Have fun with your visiting friend, Nicole! 😀

Nicole Avatar

Haha..poor Mellan! it’s time he has his own home. I’m being silly. His furniture would fill a quarter of my house, lol! He’s your handsome boy. He totally deserves nice comfy beds. I am picturing him lounging all day as you and your husband are working, right? Thats what mine does too. I’m always telling her she should learn to do the grocery shopping and chores.:)
Thank u! I hope you get to have some fun this weekend too Christine!

“Nude Dip OMG”.. Nicole.. that’s just not good enough?? LOL I caved this week and ordered. I did the back and forth dance on it for weeks WEEKS. And, I also said I wasn’t going to buy the Black Oyster cream duo, but there it was still available, and before I knew it it jumped into my cart as well. Doh~ I have to say I haven’t worn much by way of eye makeup other than these TF duos and the CT cream eyeshadows since I got them. They are soooo perfect for me. Naked Bronze turns out to be my fav paired with Marc Jacobs pencil in Ro(Cocoa) and a bit of a dark purple shadow smoked into the outer vee. It’s my new go to look.

Nicole Avatar

Hey Wendy! Nude Dip is gorgeous! I have to keep my spit from dropping into it every time I open it,lol! I’m really glad it got re- released. I know on the TF creams..so easy to work with. I am going to have to copy your combo because Ro(cocoa) is one of my faves too! I’ve not worn black oyster yet though. I have been buying way too much and it’s more of a night or fall color to me . I just have not had an occasion to wear it..sad and pitiful- I know.if you come up with an idea of wearing it not so harshly, please feel free to share!:)..Oh man,now I have those CT cream shadows back on the brain!

TrulyAJulia Avatar

Nice! I am working on de-cluttering as well. And, I made fettuccine alfredo last night! LOL amped it up a little with some sautéed mushrooms, garlic and spinach and some fresh homemade ricotta cheese. Yum.

Christina Avatar

Haul: Some pretty hair barrettes from Etsy. I got one in bronze and amethyst, one covered in tiny pearls and one in ruby and clear quartz.

Weekend plans: I really want to write up several blog posts and save to publish.

What’s your favorite thing to cook?: I have so many! Lol. It’s hard to choose just one. One of my favorites is Guyanese chicken curry with rice. I love it because it tastes great, but it’s one of those family recipes that doesn’t come with precise measurements. You need to sort of eyeball the ingredient amounts, and I love that casual approach to cooking (even though I do love my measuring spoons! lol).

Lulle Avatar

Haul: Lancôme Blush Subtil Crème in Corail Alizée and Shine Lover Lipstick in Corail Lover (there’s kind of a coral theme here!), Burberry Lip & Cheek Bloom in Hydrangea.

Stacy Avatar

Haul: Drugstore.com, just to restock on some basics — my favorite GUD bodywash (love the grapefruit scent!), Nature’s Gate biotin shampoo and conditioner, toothpaste, band-aids, that sort of thing (I’ve been TRYING to be good since my latest Colourpop binge LOL).

Weekend plans: A big cookout party with about 30 friends (not at my house, thank heaven!)

Favorite thing to cook: Tossing whatever I have on hand together in a skillet, to serve over pasta. I’m a “make it up as I go along” kind of cook.

Haul: Guerlain Jolie Teint Powder, which is a nice compromise for me between wanting a healthy glow and not liking bronzer; and Clinique Pansy Pop, my first foray into these blushes

Weekend plans: Laundry, cleaning and possibly going to an art gallery. If I keep putting off going, I’ll miss the show I want to see!

What’s your favorite thing to cook?: So many things! There’s an eggplant and bulgur stew I make that has a really interesting blend of flavours that tends to get a lot of good reactions. I also love cooking fish because it’s so easy!

Tired Mellan, so cute!
Haul, wasn’t supposed to be one, but Asos had a sale so I got a few things from them.
Rimmel lipstick in Coral in Gold, Barry M lipstick in 158,Maybelline Color Elixir Lip Laquer in a red colour, I cant find the name or number. From Bourjois three Color Edition 24 H creme to powder eyeshadows in Pétale de glace, Kaki chéri and Prune nocturne, and finally also from Bourjois a blush, Cendre de rose brune.
Weekend, nothing really, just relaxing.
Cook, well, I don’t like cooking, but I do like to eat a vegetarian lasagne, so I guess it’s my favourite to cook.

Erin Avatar

Haul: Nothing so far but the week end is not over!
Plans: We went out to dinner last night but we don’t have any major plans.
Favorite Thing To Cook: I love cooking juat about everything. My favorites are hard to pin down but when I lived in Europe I was able to make a knock out egg free Carbonara. Since I’ve been back to the USA, I made some spectacular lamb shanks, stuffed burgers, and shrimp skewers.

What’s your favorite thing to cook?: I like baking the best. My specialty is milk chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies. I love to make and decorate cookies, cupcakes and cakes. I make really good fudges, too.

Awww, Mellan makes me just want to snuggle up and cuddle him!!!

Haul: MAC WashAnd Dry stuff! Morange lipstick, Laundry List lipglass, Domestic Diva lipglass, and Nyx Slim Lip Pencil in Orange was a must-buy because apparently Morange does that whole bunching up thing on me….:-(

Weekend plans: my hair blowout ordeal, meeting on Sunday, and trying desperately to catch up on some very much needed zzz’s!

What’s your favorite thing to cook: For me the question ought to be; what DON’T you like to cook, lol! I love cooking homemade chicken enchiladas, black bean soup with rice ( my ex who was half Cuban taught me how!), lasagne, triple fudge brownies, curried chicken, fettucine alfredo w/ roasted garlic and spinach, fish or shrimp tacos. I’m soooo bad!!!!

Cat Avatar

Haul: TonyMoly BCDation Air Light Base, Etude House Dreaming Swan Eye & Cheek in purple (my first Etude House purchase), Tarte SmolderEyes in navy (on sale at Sephora), Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion, and the Kat Von D Shade & Light Eye palette (even though, just two or three weeks ago, I said I didn’t need it…)

Weekend plans: I plan to motivate my husband to refinish the cabinetry in the hall bathroom. =) He repainted the bathroom last week and now those cabinets are screaming for some attention.

What’s your favorite thing to cook?: I just made fettuccine alfredo last week for my birthday! YUM! Because I added fresh shrimp and crab meat, the kitchen was like a three-ring circus! LOL I can’t say I actually have a favorite thing to cook, though, as I LOVE to cook so many things. I guess the seafood alfredo, Swedish meatballs, Asian green beans, and fingerling potatoes are my favorite things to eat! =)

Good luck with your decluttering plans. Maybe you’ll tell us how it went and inspire me!

Christine Avatar

Here’s hoping the KVD palette finds a good home in your stash, Cat! 🙂

So far, the hope is primarily to pack away stuff that we NEVER use but insist on hanging onto into boxes and keep them in the garage. I have various photo equipment (tripods, stands, old lighting, mostly stuff I used for video) that just sits in a closet, and it really should just be permanently packed up for a rainy day!

Cat Avatar

I used the KVD palette for the first time today and I was not disappointed! Along with the shadows being pigmented and blending like a dream, her palettes are the only ones I own that, with my aging skin, don’t have me reaching for another eyeshadow to make a complete look. Even UD’s Naked3 requires me to pull out my Laced single as the mattes in the palette aren’t the right shade for the inner lid above the crease. (Getting old sucks! Stay young as long as you can! LOL)

Okay, you’ve inspired me! Since my oldest daughter moved back in, we’ve been placing furniture and boxes in places they don’t belong. I asked my husband how much room was available in the shed since he cleaned it out. It seems that there is plenty of room for my needs. I didn’t even think about that until your post, so THANK YOU! =)

Haul: Becca Essentials set from Ulta; Coola sunscreen set (returning because I went to Sephora next and got the fantastic set of sunscreen minis). Also got Moss Green Sephora Collection linter, a precision liner brush from Sephora collection, a Plexi-Gloss MUFE lip gloss and — drum roll — a completely unplanned purchase of set of T3 hot rollers! I never have Friday hauls to report, but since I’ve been in ATL all week, all things are possible!

Weekend plans: Heading back to the SC lowcountry tomorrow. Pre-school Sunday School on Sunday, followed by afternoon at Locals Beach on Hilton Head. Monday is our annual cookout cookout in the ‘hood.

My favorite thing to cook: cakes, cupcakes and cutout cookies! Happy, happy!
