Round-up: Urban Decay Revolution High-Color Lipgloss Overview & Thoughts

Urban Decay Revolution High-Color Lipgloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is a new, permanent formula just in time for summer. The range includes fourteen shades to choose from with the majority leaning brighter and bolder. The formula is supposed to give “high coverage” in “one coat” with a “creamy” texture that is also hydrating. Some shades are less opaque (nowhere near one coat pigmentation!) and a few could have applied more evenly. The glosses feel creamy, almost gel-like, as they’re so smooth, initially, but all of them developed tackiness over time, which helped them to wear longer than the average gloss with a range of four to six hours of wear. The formula was hydrating for me, and it is comfortable to wear as long as tackiness isn’t a deal-breaker for you. I didn’t notice any taste, and there is a very subtle sweet, vanilla scent that I can only detect when I open the tube and have my nose right at the opening.

I’m sure you told us before, but are these replacing the super saturated high gloss pencils? Pencil sheer formulas seem to be the best way, for those of us prone to feathering. I’d hate to see the pencils go, since i can imagine the new stuff migrating way up to my cheek, even with clear liner.

Christine, when are these being released to sephora? I saw initial posts that said available April 15 but they’re still only on UD’s website as far as I can tell.

I’m not much of a gloss person (tackiness can bug me), but Quiver, 68, Scandal and Vice do appeal to me and I just might try one of them for summer 🙂 Of course I wish Bittersweet performed better…

Not sure how I feel about opaque gloss (I usually like something matte for opaque colour) but I kinda want to try Liar and Kinky.
Also, assassin looks like a pretty colour, shame it didn’t perform better.

As always, thanks for the reviews/swatches!

I want so many of these! I am pretty blushed out at this point . So, I think once the dust settles from the VIB sale and Tom Ford, Some of these Glosses and all the shadows are going to gravitate to the top of my list fist and then some of the blushes since a few are unique to my stash! Very nice round ups Christine! I’ll spare you on commenting on all 3. But, I did look at all and I will be referencing back to them.Your round ups/overviews are so handy when you are shopping and comparing! You da bomb!

I adored UD’s Lip Gunks, and I haven’t really liked the glosses that have been released over the years to replace them as much. I am going to take on shot on Apocalypse though, and hope I like it. It’s a beautiful color, and I hope I like these as much as the old Lip Gunks.

Vice, big bang, scandal, and quiver are calling my name!!!! I’m already looking for dupes tho, because I’m sure I can’t afford to buy all the ones I want, and can’t decide on 1 or 2…. yay summer! Yay Christine for grading them for us! Thank you! Dang, I want one!!! LOL

This is soooo difficult to narrow down to just a few of these! But I already have a ton of glosses, including some of the dupes, lol! However, I do know that either Liar or Kinky is coming home with me. And so is Vice, so luscious looking it just makes me squeeee!!!
