The Spring Season: Benefit Jing-a-ling Lipstick

Benefit Jing-a-Ling Lipstick ($18.00) is a creamy, mostly neutral pink with golden shimmer. Depending on what I wear it with, I’ve found it can look more blue-pink or yellow-pink. It looks semi-opaque when applied to my lips, but it does noticeably pink and pale ’em up with a very creamy look. It almost looks like a milky pink on me, but not quite so pale. I wore Jing-a-Ling with MAC Nymphette in this sunset-eye look. Benefit’s Silky Finish Lipsticks tend to have a little more slip, so I find they last about three or four hours, but the silkiness of the finish does make it a more moisturizing lipstick.

Is this the perfect pink for you? Would you wear it?

The Spring Season is a series of posts featuring my favorite soft beige, coral, and pink lipsticks and lipglosses — all perfect for the first blossom of spring — that runs through March 2010.

This is one of my favourite lipsticks of all time. I hope Benefit never ever ever discontinue this one. I don’t know what i’d do without it. Lol.

As always, you are amazing!!! I was looking on Temptalia to see if you had a review of Jing-a-Ling and… A few hours go by, and there it is!!! Fantastic work, Christine! Thanks so much!

I am absolutley getting this lipstick with my next Benefit order (with Erase Paste and Fawn over me eyeshadow). Love Sugarbomb by the way – great purchase 🙂

I went to pick up lady’s choice after seeing it on you thinking it would be a great everyday colour but it turned out to be too dark. It’s funny seeing this colour (jing-a-ling) look so pink on you because it turned out to be my perfect natural!! Thanks so much. I wouldn’t have given these a second look if I hadn’t have seen them here. They are my new favorite formula!

funny- i bought jing a ling based on these swatches (based about an hour ago) and when on my own lips i agree– more of natural, “my lips but better” type of look rather then one that pales em up a little bit. still a good buy though 🙂 and so silky to boot!

i was so hoping to find this lipstick after seeing it in the maybelline eye studio look you did…but they don’t seem to stock it on the uk benefit website! that made me pretty sad…i was so ready to get it and nymphette after seeing it…snif…

Christine, are these swatches pretty true to color????
I was so ready to buy this.. but yesterday a sephora, the one I had was soooo dark and coral – it did not look pink at all… 🙁

Hey Christine, was just wondering are jing a ling and urban decay naked lipstick similar?? And which mac lip sticks would they both compare to?? I really want both because they look gorgeous on you!!

I have Jing-a-ling and I love it! However that may be because I’m blonde and super partial to pink lipsticks. It looks really pretty on you 🙂
