Sneak Peek: IT Cosmetics CC+ Your Way To Radiant Skin Five-Piece Collection Photos & Swatches
IT Cosmetics CC+ Your Way To Radiant Skin! Five-Piece Collection
IT Cosmetics CC+ Your Way To Radiant Skin! Five-Piece Collection ($72.00 regularly, $59.96 today) is QVC’s TSV for today (the 27th). I received the set yesterday, and I haven’t been able to test everything, but I thought I’d share swatches and preliminary thoughts. I believe the majority of the products are new and permanent, so I expect to review some of the pieces individually once I’ve finished testing!
Your Skin But Better SPF 50 CC+ Cream Illumination: very dewy, very radiant; doesn’t feel heavy, slightly more than medium coverage (I’ve only worn it once, but one pump of product was a little more than medium coverage), only saw very fine shimmer in a 5x magnifying situation.
Anti-Aging Vitality Face Disc: This is already available on its own for $38 normally. The highlight is very strong and a little goes a long way, blush is pigmented and blendable, bronzer felt smooth but thin and not as pigmented or as blendable as the highlighter/blush.
Pretty in Spring Eyeshadow Trio: consists of a light beige with warm undertones and a frosted finish, rosy peach with warm undertones and a satin finish, and dark brown with warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It created a very warm, reddish look used together. Pigmentation was good to great, textures were blendable, the two more matte shades were slightly powdery.
No-Tug® Dual Airbrush Eyeshadow Brush: dual-ended brush with a velvety-matte black handle in the middle. There were no immediate cons from using it once.
Heavenly Luxe® Radiance Wand Brush: large, fluffy, moderately dense face brush with a lightly domed, tapered tip. The brush head felt soft on the skin but is rather large, so while it felt nice to use, it seemed best for applying really sheer color on a larger area, but applying the highlighter just on the cheek bones was more challenging, even when using just the tapered edge.

Which shade of the CC cream is that? It’s so yellow!
Medium.
I meant to say it’s so yellowy orangey warm! Thanks for the sneak peek! I was thinking about getting this, but now I’m not so sure. I think the eyeshadows may be too warm for me as well. Bummed.
The eyeshadows run pretty warm-toned… well, all of the colors run warm here, actually!
Thanks so much Christine! You’re my beauty guru! 🙂
No problem, Pami! 🙂
The CC cream looks really greasy D: sorry had to say it!
LOL! You know, I’m not at all surprised that you’d say that, given your dislike for highlighters in general 😉 It is too dewy for my personal preference – I think it is more natural-looking in person, but I think it’s too much for photos on me!
I haven’t posted my review yet on it, but the original Your Skin But Better SPF 50 CC+ Cream I found dewy enough for my dry skin. lol
Plus them more liquid they put into the base the shortens the wear life I find. But since it has shimmer it’s a pass for me, I don’t like noticable shimmer in my foundations. (Thus why Revlon is a no go for me. lol )
Yeah, the original I have I considered to have a pretty natural finish! Definitely not super matte or anything.
Phew! That is good to know! If it’s too dewy for you, it’ll definitely be way too dewy for me. The original formula is too matte for me, so I was hoping this would be the solution. Thanks for the quick swatches and face look!
I consider the original to have a pretty natural finish (not too matte to me), though, so I don’t know!
Still, I think it’s a pass for me. It’s super glowy on you! 🙂
Yay you remembered me!
Christine, I love this CC cream, but when I bought it the first time around, it had an overwhelmingly bad scent. It didn’t smell chemical or like sunscreen or even perfume, it just smelled BAD. Have you had any problems like this? Maybe I can give this another shot now that the price is reduced…
It has a citrus-y scent to me? kind of. It’s hard to describe for me, but I didn’t associate it as straight-up bad, if that makes sense.
So I see snail secretions have made it into the American market. I’m just too grossed out by it to give it a chance.
Aw!
Hah I was going to mention that ingredient! I guess I need to pay better attention because apparently this has been a “thing” for a few years now and I didn’t notice. It seemed a little gross at first, but once I read up on it, it seems like it might actually do something!
Hmm, I got this in “tan” because I felt like the regular cc in medium was a little light. Do you feel like shade-wise, this is the same as the regular medium?
I’ll have to check! It didn’t seem too light for me, but I didn’t pay that much attention to it for wear (mostly just tried to get photos up!).
Don’t rush. But,I have a feeling other people are going to wonder too. I already ordered a second set. I figured it I do like it. I’ll give the extra stuff to my mom for Mother’s day or return the set and pick up the “tan” if I need it when it gets warmer. But, it does look pretty shiny. I probably will do the latter because idk if I can pull this off in summer. I find the original too dry and barely wear it. I have been waiting for the warm weather and I like the brush that came with it so I kept it. If I keep this one, I’ll put the regular in my t zone and this one everywhere else. This is kinda taking the whole simplicity out of this product right, I still prefer my Guerlain and Kho gen Doh foundations honestly. i wear sunblock under anyway. Idk..we’ll see if I like it. lol
If you like a dewy finish, I think you may like the finish. I think it is more flattering in person than in photos, as photos can easily make dewy look oily. If you set with powder, you can tamp down some of it (and if I’m remembering correctly, you often use primer/powder, so it may not be an issue for you!) but still get luminosity. I’m wearing the CC Illumination + setting powder in the Clinique Nude Pop post if that helps!
You are right about that! I don’t know how you remember all these details about everybody in the communtity on here. That is fantastic! 2 types of primer and probably 2-3 powders on days that matter for makeup, lol. Referring me to that post was a great idea too. Yeah, you are glowy.I think it looks pretty for certain occasions. I would tamp down the forehead action a tad bit before going anywhere special. I know to younger girls ( I have been there) that “dewy” is always not desirable. But, at my age, a little glow and lighter look just makes you look not as tired and old. I think that is why I love foundations like Touche eclat, Lingerie De Peau, Parure de Lumiere, Koh gen Do aqua ..those are all light and dewy..yeah, I am going to try it out. I came a second away from cancelling the order. I am glad I didn’t now. I then read the rest of the comments and noticed the one about it maybe be better for dry skin. It’s really great that you cater to such a huge age range. Really, all age ranges!
Eventually I remember, lol!
I’m excited for you to receive yours – will be very interested to hear how it works for you 🙂
well, I wound up ordering Tan on accident(kinda) and then went back and ordered medium after I saw you had medium and realized that would be the color for me. So, i have 2 sets coming at me. Looking at the “dewy” glow here, I don’t think it will work at the height of summer for me. My skin does finally gert normal once our weather gets warm and very humid. So, to sent the “tan” set back likely. They are both already shipped, so I just am going to try them. I’ll keep you posted! :). I do hope she release this on its own soon.
I can’t wait for you to get your set(s) 😀
Yeahhhhh….It kinda looks like a grease bomb hit you in the face. And let me be clear – your face is normally PERFECTION regardless of what foundation you’ve used, so the problem ain’t your face! LOL Maybe a setting powder is in order for this set. Otherwise everyone’s gonna go around looking like they just ran a 5k. Price isn’t bad though. LOL
It’s a very… hmm, lived in? look almost. I can see the appeal for sure (there’s a very sexy sheen about it), just not my personal preference!
A nice array of product, but I’d skip the CC cream if you have oily skin .. I have the regular CC cream (not the illuminator), and ugh .. makes me a grease slick 🙁
Monica.
Yep, the regular CC has a rather natural finish! This seems like something for drier skin types.
Okay..you can skip my last question now. I am glad I read through the comments! The original which I put on this afternoon over a heavy night cream that I wear in daytime under makeup that I feel is drying, 5 hours later has my face feeling like it is going to crack! I have seen so many comments about your face looking “greasy” etc. and honestly,it does. I am guessing , you did not use a powder over the cc cream. But, this may have a place, like you said for drier skin. I feel like IT cosmetics is one of the few companies that tends to listen to its consumers. I know it does have a lot of older consumers by way of QVC. I am only 39. But the regular Cc , I can’t do and I have a feeling I am not the only one and that they listened. i was going to cancel my order. But,I think I am going to give it a try. Sorry to barge in on this convo! It was just my “aha moment”!lol! 🙂
No powder in this post, but I did let it sink in for about 25 minutes (which was a bit longer than my standard of 15 minutes or so between applying and photographing for a liquid/cream foundation) so this is the “dry down” result, but you can definitely take it down with powder. I did continue to wear it for the cheek products in the Vitality Disc, but I applied setting powder all over for the cheek swatch photos so you can see it there!
Okay, thanks!you have been a ton of help! 🙂 i am not looking to replace my foundations with this. Maybe that is why people are really critical of it. Maybe some people do replace their foundation all together with a CC cream. I just kinda think of CC and BB creams like souped up tinted moisturizer. Maybe I am too old school. I like to have a “finished ” look option. I feel like a foundation can be played with more. Oh well, to each their own. If it turns out as orange-ish as the original, I will just have to return it.Now ,i have a medium and tan coming my way so at leas I can see if mixing them would remedy that problem. I always feel bad returning cosmetics. But, i wont touch anything but the cc cream so I won’t feel as bad, lol.
It has enough coverage that you could probably replace a foundation with it, but it’ll definitely depend on what you’re looking for out of it! 🙂
Keep us posted!
yeah, maybe for daytime..The original, I would wear for errands and just running around and stuff. But, I didn’t take much of a liking to the texture or the strong orange undertone(?). But, I like the sun protection part and that it is easy to slap on. Maybe for certain things. I am not a 1 foundation person though. I usually have a few at least going.Keeps things interesting! 🙂
I usually have two or three, lol! I am trying to get through some bottles right now. I swear, they last forever.
No doubt. I remember when I actually used to finish a bottle and have to stand it on it’s top to get it all out, lol! I actually was looking through the ones I had last spring and summer. Since the weather changes so drastically here, I tend to accumulate so many formulas. I ned to try to get through them too or find a way to wear them or pass them on! 🙂
Oh no! Sorry to hear the original CC cream isn’t working for you 🙁 I hope you can get your money back.
Hi Katherine! I wound up ordering it off QVC in the pkg with the heavenly Luxe Flat top buffing brush. I really love the brush with my liquid foundations. So, I am thinking I am going to hold onto it. Plus, if I wind up liking this illuminating one, Ill use the original on my t zone since I have it,lol. They get you by throwing in those brushes! 🙂 Plus, i am thinking, in the dog days of sweltering summer here, it will work. I mean we our weather goes form blizzard to smothering 105 degrees, 995 humidity..it is absurd! So, hard to get a makeup and skincare routine going. once you do, time to switch! lol. I thank you for introducing me to QVC..great deals! :)! Have a great weekend!
Oh, awesome! Glad you are finding some great deals on QVC !
This is a pretty good deal. If I was in the U.S., I’d consider it but the CC cream definitely looks too dewy for me! 🙂
I wonder how it would work in the winter – I am too normal right now!
So glad you are reviewing more IT products! I have the regular CC cream and it gives me a soft satin-matte finish, but if I want to look more dewy, I just mix in a liquid highlighter. This Illumination version looks too dewy for me, but it might be great for winter or drier or more mature skin. And while I found a shade that matches, I do wish they would expand their shade collection for others. The Vitality Disk and eyeshadow look like nice workhorse colors. I have the Wand Brush and love it , been using it for years, it’s so soft and durable– I use it to dust on loose face powder.
I’ll be curious to hear how it does on drier skin types! Mine is pretty normal right now – I waited about 25 minutes before taking photos after applying, but it’s still pretty dewy.
I should of checked your site before i ordered! gosh its yellow! I got it in light so maybe it won’t be as strong. I have extremely dry dull skin I’m hoping this will give it some life since its dewy. If the light shade is very yellow is there anything i can do to tone it down? If i dust it with a little powder will it help? Its such a great value I’m really looking forward to the brushes. I don’t want to return it just because 1 product didn’t work well. I have a lot of pink in my skin my cheeks appear like i have blush on and i don’t. Can i salvage it?
Thanks
Hopefully light ends up being a good match, though!
You could try a neutral or slightly pink-tinted setting powder or foundation if you have it.
Great idea i never thought of a tinted setting powder. Thanks so much, your awesome!
That cheek trio looks really lovely.
It has potential!
I adore the original IT CC Cream – it’s pretty much my “go to” every day face “all in one”. Not too sure about this “illuminating” one though …. that colour looks quite “off” for you and it does indeed look heavy and greasy, as if they confused “illuminating” with “oily”. I’ve had the face disc for at least 2 years (came in a value set) and I find the highlighter to be okay and the blush too and even the bronzer (it’s great in spring on winter-pale legs!) but I wish the bronzer were smaller since I rarely use bronzers. While everything in the disc is nice, for some reason, I rarely reach for it.
The disc is HUGE! Great value, but HUGE! Reminds me of Guerlain’s old limited edition summer bronzers.
So interested in this product as a possible quick base and SPF.. There is something about the finish which I don’t care for and I think it pulls you more yellow than I am accustomed. You have more of a peachy warm complexion so I think this runs a tad sallow and doesn’t exactly flatter your natural skin tones. Don’t get me wrong, you look lovely in everything, I’m just being nit-picky and wondering about the shade limitations of the product so it may have to be a pass.
It is yellower than my natural undertones, I think. I’m warm-toned, but I pull closer to neutral-to-warm than really warm and yellow for sure.
It’s tough, too, as this is designed to have full coverage, so having such a small shade range means the end result will be more unforgiving if the shade isn’t right.
That CC cream is dewy!
Yup!
Nice review! I love this brand, but, I’m so oily I passed on it. I was tempted when I saw it on TV last night though 🙂
Good call! I definitely think this is more for drier skin types.
Hey Christine, sorry for the second comment. Are you going to do a full review on the CC cream in the set? I am having second thoughts about this now. I ordered the set basically for the CC cream hoping it would be a bit more moisturizing. On the QVC video, it did not look this shiny . I know, I could powder it down or use the regular in my t zone. The other products are nice. But,I have seen that disc in Ulta and swatched it and passed it by.Plus(as you know) gigantic! The shadows, ehh.. ok.In other words,I would not buy for those products or the brushes. Did you feel like this one is more emollient than the original? I mean, one can add liquid highlight to the original easy. It’s the dryness that is keeping me from it. I am sorry for the loaded question. i know you are really swamped and i am sure exhausted after Mac week. No rush! 🙂
Hi..I am so sorry. Just ignore or delete this. I reread the post and saw you said you would review most pieces and then re-read the updated comments and your replies which answered most my questions. So, I think I’m just going to have to see how it does on my dry skin. The funny thing is that I was looking around and found ” Musings of a Muse” has a post up and she says she sees not much difference between this one and the original. I wonder if they may have sent different things out for PR? That would be odd, maybe?? Oh well..thankfully QVC has a 30 day return policy at least. Thanks for the review. 😉
We probably got the same formula, but we likely have different skin types, so that might be why.
Hey Nicole!
I think it has more slip than the original – I felt like it was easier to spread across the face than the original, though I have only used the original a handful of times. When I’ve used the original, I feel like one pump isn’t really enough, but one pump was plenty with the new version. Hope that helps a bit!
Yes it does. To me the original is too thick. I feel like I have to pull it over my skin. I found myself wondering what all the rage was about. I like having a quick option to throw on my face to run out without looking dead and not having to do a ton of work for certain situations. But ,if a layer of sunscreen and concealer a light bronzer does the same, ehh..idk. I am reading some of the comments regarding the color range. I agree, lacking. I’d be willing to buy a second to mix if the formula worked for me. . I’m just going to try this one out and see. Thanks for all your help!
My pleasure, Nicole! Hope it works for you!
I keep looking at that before and after CC+ Cream and… wow. Instead of enhancing your natural beauty, it seems to subtract… something. I can’t put my finger on it. It’s like some of the life has been drained out of you. I’ve seen you try many, many foundations/BB/CC and this is the first time I’ve seen one look less than stellar. If this stuff doesn’t look amazing on you, it would surely be a nightmare on me!
Thanks for the review on this set. It’s a big NO for me. The only thing that looks like it might be worth having is the Radiance Wand Brush, but not to use for highlighter.
Interesting that you felt like it drained life!
Did that sound harsh? I just meant… You’re so vivacious and that CC cream was like looking at you through a veil. It took away from your natural spark. I saw the other review using this CC cream after you’d set it with powder and it looked much better. Perhaps all the additional shine on your face distracts from the twinkle in your eyes… and I prefer the twinkle. =)
It’s totally fine 🙂
Now that’s the kind of blush/bronzer/highlighter that I love all in one handy disc. It looks to be a good generous size too. The brushes are great too. Everything looks really good on you Christine.
It’s massive!!
Agree with the other comments..I will pass as well! It is real yellowey and greasy. Its hard for me to find the right IT shade! I returned the Medium Concealer because it looked too light. Thanks a bunch for your review!
Yes, their shade range needs to be expanded for sure!
Wow, I’ve heard good things about IT Cosmetics, and that CC Cream has physical rather than chemical sunscreen, which would be great for me, since a lot of chemical sunscreens make my skin burn. But SNAIL SECRETIONS??? The second ingredient?? (After the sunscreens of course) I dunno how I feel about that… I’d totally be thinking of that every time I use it. Gross.
I think I’ve been in beauty too long, since it doesn’t even make me bat an eye, lol!
I’m a nurse..nothing grosses me out..It cosmetics is supposed to be into natural stuff and no animal cruelty. Snails naturally secrete..may as well use it if it works I suppose is their point. Yeah,I probably would not have looked at the ingredients accept for the sunblock. Now, I am going to be thinking of that every time I smear it on my face! lol..They should have rephrased that somehow.
I actually love that CC cream on you! Well, everything looks good on you, so… 😀
xoxo
Thank you!
I personally really like the “dewy” finish, and would be curious to try it! However, I find when it comes to this type of product, Fair and/or light tend to run far too pink, while Medium tends to run very yellow. Thisnis something I’d have to try in person, especially due the coverage level. If it ran sheerer, a powder usually helps.
I totally understand that! With such a small shade range, you have to really be sure!
I’m bummed i missed out on this! I could really use a better CC base-I travel for days on end and my face can look like a prune after a couple flights-so extra moisture is welcomed!
And kudos to It Cosmetics for giving us tons of product for our $$- unlike some of MAC’s latest face & shadow collections that are skimpy!
You can still get it for $65.96 right now if you’re a huge fan of all the products (still a good value), though! 🙂
I’m on it! Thanks Christine- you’re the best!
I hate matte finish on my skin, but how I wish that CC cream was just a bit less dewy!
Do you ever use a setting powder? I think that might be the perfect combo if you like dewy but not totally dewy!
Omg this kit was made for you! All these products suit you so well; It makes me wish I had went ahead and gotten it Friday. And your brows are perfect too 🙂
Thank you, Amber Joy! I think you can still get the kit, though it’s not quite as cheap!
I read on someone’s review that this CC cream may be a bit darker than the original, maybe the Light would look better on you.
Thanks for the tip!
I ordered this kit and it’s a first purchase from it Cosmetics for me. It was a good value to try out the brand. I liked all the products and the brushes were good quality. I did just see a dupe for the Vitality Face Disc. Haute Look was featuring Crown Brush and they have a Blush Bronze Illuminate Palette for $15. I compared ingredient label from both the It Cosmetics and the Crown Brush version and they are exactly the same. The price for just the face disc alone from it Cosmetics is $38. I’m glad I got to try it out in this kit because it works well with my light skin tone. If anyone was interested in it for less, check out the Crown brush version.
Oh, wow!
Hey Christine, I was wondering what your MAC shade is, because I’m NW15 and idk if medium would match me… Please help!
I’m NC25, possibly lighter.
Hi! Christine! I know the lipstick youre wearing is not related to your post but I just want to know what lipstick your wearing here. Thank you!
I believe it’s ColourPop Tootsi.
