A lot of the liquid lipsticks last a long time, like OCC Lip Tars, Too Faced Melted Lipsticks, KVD Liquid Lipsticks, etc. I prefer the first two as they’re long-wearing and don’t destroy my lips and tend not to bleed/feather.

The only really long wear lip stick I’ve tried so far is the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick. It definitely stays, but I’m not super crazy about the formula – it may just be a little too drying for me.

Probably one of the liquid to matte products like the Anastasia or Sephora ones. For more traditional formulas, MAC’s Pro Longwear Lipcreme, which doesn’t last through eating, but will take me through my morning of pounding coffee into lunch with only the slightest fading and very good, even wear. I really like super matte bullet style lipsticks like Ruby Woo, but IMHO the Longwear Lipcremes wear more evenly without as much fading on the inner part of the lips and also with less flaking and dryness. I really enjoy Lip Tars, but with the exception of the metallic ones like Black Metal Dahlia, I always have to cover my lips in a clear lipliner, apply, blot, and reapply to get good wear out of them. Otherwise they slide around and feather.
I very much like Milani’s matte lipsticks but I don’t skimp on the lip liner! Tarte’s Lipsurgence are also long-wearing for me, and have a nice satin-matte finish. I tend to put on lipstick then eat or drink straight away. You won’t find me holding out just to keep those lipstick lines crisp! Whatever I choose has to be long-lasting or I’m just wasting product since I would need to reapply numerous times.
The best ones I’ve tried are the YSL Glossy Stains! I wear #27 almost everyday. It’s the only long wearing color I’ve found that looks good after I’ve applied it and still looks good 5 hours later. I will bookmark this page though so I can find other options!
The longest wearing lipstick I’ve ever tried is actually an indie brand on Etsy called Fierce Magenta. I have Mythical Forest which is a dark green and it’s the best lipstick I own, I’d highly recommend them.
Tom Ford, MUFE and By Terry ‘opaque’ lipsticks all have very good wear on me without dehydrating my lips over time.
For me, it’s the UD Revolution lipsticks (or whatever they’re called). Some colours seen to wear better than others, though. I put F-Bomb on at 7 am and it’s still there now, at 3:45 my time and I’ve had lunch and been drinking water from a Contigo water bottle and I’m now drinking coffee. It has faded some but it has left a lovely and EVEN stain (rather than wearing off or fading unevenly). I’ve wanted to try the Stila Stay All Day (the cosmetician at SDM recommended them as great) but I’m not crazy about any of the colours.
Rimmel London Provocalips 16Hr Kissproof Lip Colour as long as the name is they last, they stay put until you take it off with waterproof makeup remover and one of the most important features they are no drying and the value is excellent. Own every color lol.

The most long-wearing lipstick I own is MAC Rebel. I put it on in the morning and it stays on during breakfast and lunch and by dinner time, it’s a nice stain. If I use Prep+Prime lip, I have to remove it with the rest of my makeup at night. It’s currently 4:30 pm where I am and it’s still on, I applied it at 8:00 a.m, had breakfast and lunch.

I must admit that I recently went temporarily insane and bought every long-wearing liquid lippie I could get my hands on. Out of KVD, MAC, Tarte lipsurgence, Coloured Raine, Lime Crime and LA Splash, Anastasia of Beverly Hills is my all time favorite. It has the best pigmentation and lasts the longest. I have Pure Hollywood and Retro Coral and plan on buying MORE 😀
I really like Pretty Zombie Cosmetics liquid lipsticks and Melt lipsticks.
Nars Cruella Lip Pencil is pretty damn amazing. The formula is super light weight, the matte finish is flawless especially in pics without ever during out the lips, and the color choices for the matte lip pencils are pretty wide. There’s seriously a color for every lipstick lover. Other than Nars … Jeffree Star liquid lippies are pretty hard to beat. Their actually smudge proof, kiss proof, and they last until you take them off. Like no fading, nada. He may be eccentric but man he is really good at liquid lippies.
grrr I meant drying. lol They don’t dry out the lips. Sometimes spell check is totally wrong. Whatevs 🙂
Jordana Modern Mattes. They’re so affordable, but such gorgeous colors and great application and “wearability.” They’re easier to pat on for a stain effect (especially the darker ones) and with normal application they last a few hours on me as a non-drying matte. When I sip some warm tea and eat, obviously I need to reapply, but it doesn’t just disappear. I can’t hype these enough!
Not many I’ve tried – but I have a CD one that is pretty good and the NYX Snow White is excellent. The Maybelline Colour Sensational lipsticks are fairly good too.
I’m not sure if these count, but the YSL Glossy Stains are the only thing I can hold for more than an hour. I guess if liquid lipsticks count, the Glossy Stains should count as well. I’m terrible at keeping my lipstick on—it’s basically gone by the time I put the cap back on—but the YSL lasts for hours. I like the more sheer formula of the Rebel Nudes, but they don’t wear quite as long as the regular ones do. Oh, Josie Maran makes a magic marker type stain, Coconut Water Lip Stain & Shine, and it lasts for actual days. Again, this may not count because it’s a stain rather than a traditional lipstick, but it puts color on my lips for about 36 hours. The red one is practically indelible, but it’s a lot of look, not a shade for everyday (at least not for me).
I just had to use makeup remover to take KVD Everlasting off. I would love to see some more colors in that line.
Even though I haven’t bought one *yet*, but have tried them on in store, went about the rest of my day, looked in a mirror 5,6, even 7 hours later, and it was still there, faded very slightly, but still there: Too Faced Melted Lipsticks. Very impressed!!! Tried the Fuchsia, Coral and Violet on so far. NEED!!!
The new Smashbox Be Legendary matte lipsticks pleasantly surprised me! They don’t budge at ALL! Even waterproof make-up remover has a hard time getting them off.

In terms of lasting without looking different, Hourglass liquids… In terms of sheer staining power, Revlon Super Lustrous in Cherries in the Snow and this one shade from CoverGirl stain my lips for DAYS. Essentially until the top layer of skin is sloughed off. I honestly don’t know what is in them that does this. I think I must have some crazy reaction to some dye combo in them.
Ive tried quite a few but the best hands down are from Bite.
BITE Matte Lip Crayons, BITE Creme Lipstick.
YSL Glossy Stains are really good too.
i noticed the ABH liquid lipstick lasts but tends to flake if worn alone but if I layer a light matte lipstick over it just to set it in place it lasts all day. I also just recently picked up the Tom Ford Pussycat Matte lipstick & it lasts a long time! of course if you rub it it will come off but if i eat & drink gently it lasts all day for me 🙂 and its not drying or irritating to my lips, so comfortable to wear. I find the colourpop mattes tend to make my lips so dry & im constantly fussing with my lips which makes it uncomfortable. same with Maybelline mattes but those aren’t as bad. maybelline mattes lasts pretty good too!
