Round-up: Tom Ford Spring 2015 Collection Overview & Thoughts
Tom Ford Spring 2015 Collection
Tom Ford’s Spring collection is short and sweet with products for eyes and nails. My favorite product was Spring 2015 Cream Color for Eyes, as I’m a huge fan of his cream eyeshadow formula for its rich color payoff, impressive long-wear, and blendability. The new Eye Color Duo were decent to good, but the lighter shade in each duo could have applied more smoothly over bare skin. I think the shades in each duo pair well and layer exceptionally well to create a true third color; the lightest shade is better layered over the darker one than alone, from my experience. The collection is now online at Neiman Marcus,
Nordstrom, and Saks.
The darker colors just do not make any sense for springtime.
I think that makes it more interesting, though – because many wear all colors throughout the year, so when 40 other brands are busy releasing the typical pastels you see every spring, the contrast of this collection is more apparent!
I was honestly hoping for a larger spring collection. But I plan on buying Spring 2015. Thanks for the review Christine.
Maybe summer 🙂
Yeah, those duos kind of disappointed 🙁 I have dupes for all of the darker shades, and I’m not about to fork over $60 for a so-so iridescent shade…
That cream eyeshadow will be mine, though! 😀
At least we got a new cream color!
This was pretty much my introduction to Tom Ford color(other than a few of the” Lips and Boys” lipsticks). I have always stayed away from “luxury’ lines like this because I always felt like the price was maybe extravagant. And in some instances, it may be. But, I am pretty happy with the items I purchases. I got the Ripe Plum and Raw jade duos along with the eyeshadow cream. I must say my favorite is the shadow cream. So gorgeous! I wish I would of known about these sooner! I don’t like that they are LE. As much as I really would like to get my hands on a “Platinum” eye cream from this past holiday collection, I can’t pay $100 or more on Ebay for a cream shadow. It did renew my love for my old cream shadows though. I don’t find that they sit as well on my skin. But I love the dimension! I hope to see some Tom Ford creams released for the summer! Along with making them permanent, I wish they would be half the size and half the price!
Don’t do it! Don’t do it! Don’t pay $100 for it!
Ha!Ha! I’m not even that stupid even if I was a rich girl..well, maybe then, lol. No, then I would get my posse to hunt me down 5 of each shade ever released for Mr. Ford himself, lol. I don’t trust Ebay sellers with cosmetics and skincare stuff..or really much of anything honestly. I am sure there are many honest sellers on there..I got burnt once and I’m just not messing with it. They will likely eventually roll it out again at some point since it is a huge $ maker for them. If not. I will be just as good without it.:)
Hey, I know better, but I have caught myself staring longingly at Chanel Jade (Le Vernis), which is my “the one that got away” on eBay for $100… and then I had to run away before I got any more tempted!
Lol..too funny!Yes, I caught myself. Close to ready to pay like $106 for one. I just had to tell myself to get a grip.,ugh,,I still want it.lol
I love the fact that this collection went rogue, both figuratively and chromatically! Having said that, there isn’t anything I’d RUSH to get, although the cream colour is probably the pick of the collection!
Haha! 😉
I was a little sad about the duo’s 🙁
Me too! 🙁
I haven’t paid much attention to these, but when you posted the overview and I read Spring 2015 over that photo, I admit it gave me pause: that’s a hell of a dark collection for spring.
It’s so nice to see something different!
I like the idea of a darker and lighter colour in a duo – I think it makes the duo more versatile and wearable all year round. The Spring colours of pinks and pastels don’t suit everyone and these duos are perhaps aimed at a wider audience. Lovely colours – especially that Raw Jade.
And the two shades in the duos layer well!
I so wish I could afford the cream shadow. It’s the prettiest thing in the collection!
Aww! Maybe next time.
