Not a fan of Kylie Jenner, but decided to try her lip look with rosy nude lipsticks and lip liner. Turned out pretty well, my lips look super-sized!

Brown-based lipsticks look really good on me, but I wasn’t wearing them for a while, because I didn’t want to look dated, but I’m so glad they’re back in fashion 🙂 I could never pull of that radiant orchid color , as pretty as it was

Me too – and those violet/ purple shades don’t look good on me, I don’t know if I could ever pull it off! I’m not really a fan of those typical Barbie/ candy pinks either, I just don’t think they go with my skintone & I’m much more drawn to brown/plum based muted shades!

A sweater I have. It’s white with big red lips on it. I went with bright matte red lipstick, a hint of red blush, icy nude and white eyes, and black eyeliner. It was fun.

This is going to sound terribly overwrought, but it was actually the depiction of Christ-as-Helios on the ceiling of one of the houses in the ancient city buried under St Peter’s Basilica in Rome. I was going through some old travel stuff, and found some notes I made about it (can’t take photos down there). I wanted to take the colours, and the atmosphere as I remembered it, and do something arty.

Naturally, the look didn’t work out AT ALL, which was a massive anticlimax, LOL! 😀 Maybe I’ll try again…

I pretty much have an ongoing to-do list of makeup looks I want to try. The most recent addition was inspired by the original pilot for Star Trek, which involved a lot of powder blue eyeshadow on blondes with huge hair–and was an absolutely terrible episode, by the way.

I typically use my jewelry as a starting point, or whatever new product(s) I’ve acquired.

I haven’t done it yet, but I just bought a Betsy Johnson statement necklace/choker that is gold-tone with 2 huge spiders. The bodies of the spiders are a teal & magenta opalescent stone, and it really reminded me of my NARS China Seas duo. I haven’t worn the duo with a full look since I bought it, but now I can’t wait to play, LOL!

I’m SUPER jealous! I have been searching for Copenhagen and Transylvania for ages, and the only place I have found either so far is Ebay, and I can’t see myself paying the horribly inflated prices. I almost broke down and bought Monte Carlo last week instead, but I am going to keep hoping that I can find one of these beauties eventually!

I’m gonna sound like such a dork, but my new cat! She’s so gorgeous, I immediately thought to recreate her beauty in a look. Turned out well too.

Erm….the green goblin from the amazing spiderman 2… My boyfriend and I were discussing the movie before we were going out to dinner and when I started doing my makeup I looked at my Vice 3 palette and made a look with Brokedown, Dragon, DTF, and Revolver.

Truthfully, your reviews and examples give me ideas all the time. I love the unexpected combinations of colors you demonstrate on your eyes. Prior to discovering your reviews, I was a three color girl; light browbone, dark in crease and medium color on lid. Not anymore. Having a blast now! Thank you for the creativity.

I’m inspired by the reviews on Temptalia and often pictures on Pinterest and Instagram. The most recent was on Pinterest – NARS audacious lipsticks which I have also seen on Temptalia as well!

I’ve just started to redesign my hair salon, I’ve found a beautiful modern twist using antique mirrors and champagne gold. Painting with shades of gray, white and Tiffany blue. I find it to look very bright and summer inspired. So my make up looks have been very natural with a nice black liquid liner champagne dusted eyes and cheeks, but I can still go bold with a nude/red lip for the season. I want to go touch up my makeup now!

A couple months ago, Kerry Washington was on the cover of Allure magazine with a very natural makeup look, and I thought it was really gorgeous. I was SO inspired, the very next morning and every day thereafter, I have skipped using eyeliner! I am/was an eyeliner girl since FOR.EVER, but her look was so beautiful, I have entirely quit using liner! I use a natural color eye shadow and plenty of black mascara, but no more liner. I think it’s really a cool and different look.

I know this will sound weird but the last thing that really inspired my makeup looks, in general, is the fact that I have Invisalign! I’m to my 13th set of trays out of 21 and to be honest, I had stopped worrying about makeup, even just mascara (although I do rarely wear it just for an eyelash/eye “pop” look while looking natural.) I was SUPER SERIOUSLY getting into skincare and trying out new creams, potions, expensive serums, etc. because with Invisalign, you cannot wear even clear balm (I’m now a huge collector od eos egg shaped lip balms because of this) without the product getting on your Invisalign! I hate that all the dark, vampy shades are passing me by this Autumn/Winter Season. So, after a few months I decided to hust go ahead and use very light and pale colors or things that stay put as well as possible, because even thise light pinks, peaches, etc. will get on the Invisalign trays. I made a change and started wearing Urban Decay 24/7 Lip Pencil lightly in “Native,” it has decent staying power and no noticeable unpleasant flavor (the eos eggs are a nice sweet flavor as well as scent) and I also tried a MAC L/S that I’ve had forever called “Pretty Please” which is a barely there, I think “Lustre” formulation. Sometimes I’ll get brave and wear the MAC over the 24/7. I also have tried out the UD L/S in “Native” but that is a really pale look that requires more upkeep to keep it even and not blotchy looking. I do a dark eye with the light lips, like a modern day “mod” 60’s look. So, yes, Invisalign has made me incorporate changes 🙂
