Once you find a staple product, do you ever switch from it? Do you still seek even better products despite having found a great one you use all the time?

Whenever I find a “staple” product, I usually use it regularly and say “ahh i can never live without this!” lol.. but i’ve found that over time as I use the product I get tired of it for whatever reason. I’ve never re-bought a product so far (except for Studio Fix fluid).

ohh yes definitely.i am the kind of person who gets bored very soon.so, silly as it may sound i get bored of using the same product for very long.i tend to stray from it only to come bak to it and realise why it was a staple in the first place.does tht make sense?

It depends what it is. I’ve found my staple skincare combo and I do NOT change that but everything else is fair game!

Chica Avatar

I’m completely the same – I don’t mess with my skincare because it works for me, but make up and hair products are changeable!

I tend to try other things out just to see if I can “upgrade”. A great example is mascara…my HG is Loreal Voluminous water proof, but every time a new mascara comes out I have to try it out…I have a whole tray full, but I keep going back to my HG!

i buy so much makeup that rarely do i ever have a product that remains a staple…..except for the very lovely urban decay eyeshadow primer (nothing else i have found compares)…hmm, i would also have to say my benefit hoola bronzer 🙂

LOVE YOUR BLOG 🙂

I do have staples in my makeup bag that I will always have but…I also buy and check out new products to see if what I have is still the best for me or if it’s time to change.

I definatly have my staples: MAC’s Prep and Prime skin, Plushlash mascara and Urban Decay’s Primer potion. I recently started using Studio Fix foundation and I can already tell that going to be a staple. My staple skin care is Clinique, but I am a total junkie when it comes to body washes, lotions, etc.

I’m always on the look-out for something better. ALWAYS. Even when I find things I love & that work well for me. I don’t know why. I get bored I guess.

I always want to try new things. That’s why I’m a makeup junkie! Mac ProLash mascara is the best mascara but i always have to try new ones then i go back to ProLash. Ridiculous, and a waste of money but you could say that about my makeup habit period. Others that i know are my HG but i still switch on are UDPP, BB Gel liner, Nars blush Exhibit A. Parfume too. It’s fun just plying with new things, I guess.

Hey, they’re improving things every day! I’ll try something new if a reliable source(like Temptalia, and/or Paula Begoun) recommends it & gives reasons WHY it’s better than previous products; that’s how I’ve found some of the very best products. I find you just have to steer away from most company & advertising (including much editorial) info.

(I’ll never switch from my Diet Dr. Pepper, though…)

My staple is http://www.Temptalia.com. : )

As for beauty products…it’s a free-for-all. I will try just about anything once. I try and try and try. I have more fun that way and my beauty bag becomes very versatile.

I do have a few staples I must admit, just because they WORK and I LOVE them: MAC Spiked Eyebrow Pencil, Too Faced Shadow Insurance and Lancome DUAL Finish Pressed Powder.

Nope! If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! I few things I swear by are Maybelline Great Lash mascara, Rimmel soft khol liner in jet black, and Rimmel clear mascara to set my eyebrows.

Well, when I find something I really like, I’ll use it almost every time. But that doesn’t mean I’ll stop buying stuff. No…I guess I could be considered a makeup junky. I buy it when I don’t even need it.

For skincare products, I used to rove around quite a bit, but after I found my staple products (Avénè) I stopped looking. For make up, if I like a product I may buy it again, but most of the times there’s already a new/better version, so I usually give that a try.

HeavenLeiBlu Avatar

I’m always open for experimentation, but for the most part, my staples for skin care remain the same, unless a new product really blows me away. As far as makeup is concerned, I think all women are open to the newest/latest, LOL

Stacey Avatar

I will always be seeking for new things, because I like variation and it helps me stay creative, but there are some things I will always need and will always love. No matter how many highlighters I buy, I always find myself going back to Ricepaper and Shroom. And I will never be without Love Nectar lustreglass!

I like to try new things. I dont want to get stuck in a rut or wind up looking dated. I do have a few staples that I don’t really switch from though. I love my Jane Iredale Mineral foundation (even though I do try to find others that work because it is soo pricey). Although a lot of the time the new things don’t work out and I go right back to my staples.

I usually stick to my staples, especially when it comes to basic makeup – Maybelline Great Lash, Dior concealer & powder…but in terms of colour products & skin care I mix it up pretty often.
