Ooooh, isn’t that pretty! I really like how this is packaged. The simple gold compact really lets the pretty swirled powder cakes speak (err…twinkle?) for themselves.

Khadija Avatar

They really should make this one permanent as well. because there is no way i ll be able to afford it right away with all the shopping thats to take place around Christmas anyway. but yea, a few months down the line, i’d love to buy it for myself.

kjh Avatar

no reason to assume they/it will not (become perm,) if ALPs are any indicator. I suppose i depends on sales/popularity. Got the alp palette WELL after XMAS release, well into perm territory. Only got mood exposure blush, bec. i find the alps a tad too warm for total comfort. ‘mood’ rules, if you are cooler, though it’s really fairly neutral. the others, swatched in store, just seem obviously warmer. they are warmer than ‘mood’ is cool. i’d hate to suggest waiting, if it never does go perm!

Elle Avatar

It looks so gorgeous and I am so planning on getting this. I held off buying Hourglass blushes after the powders didn’t do anything for me my Clarins powders didn’t already do anyway (in fact I think the Clarins ones are far prettier than the Hourglass ones). Anyways…rambling on in excitement. Gorgeous palette. Especially the middle and right one!

Karla Avatar

Me neither. I also didn’t get an email for the release of the exclusive vice LTD palette that was released yesterday. Sephora is really dropping the ball on sending emails to their VIB rouge customers.

Kate Avatar

Thanks! I spend so much at Sephora I am VIB Rouge for like the next 3 years. Apparently they don’t value my money enough to send me notices about exclusive stuff. I’d switch to another store for makeup but Sephora is so convenient.

Cynthia Avatar

Yes Kate, it was available for VIB Rouge last week. When I saw on the website that it was coming soon, I requested an email informing me when it became available. I ordered it shortly after receiving the email saying it was in and it is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. I’m sure it will be in stock again soon! 🙂

This is so cool, I haven’t tried these blushes at all but this might be the way to do it, plus that’s pretty much all of the basic shades of blush I need for travel.

kjh Avatar

Wish this one had come out first. Mood exposure is the best for me. Had to get a single. will probably wait on this, then regret it (LE). Then S will hopefully make it permanent. I do like to dawdle. I found ALBs a bit hard to get used to. should have just gone with the Mood powder, in terms of rotation + use.

I haven’t been wearing makeup long enough (I am 31 and only began wearing makeup this year) to have jumped into the blush train… Can someone who loves Hourglass provide evidence as to why their blushes are better than other, cheaper blushes? I want to understand and don’t have access to a store that carries it. Thank you!

WARPAINTandUnicorns Avatar

It’s the milling of the mica powder that make them so nice. But more smoother then MAC mineralize line. 😉 It’s one of the few high end brands where I feel like the quality justifies the price.

But personally there is nothing wrong with budget blushes. It something you need to test in person to see if it worth it to you.

Rachel R. Avatar

I thought they looked like the swirled special flavored fudges the specialty shops on the Oregon Coast make. They marble them like that. Now that you’ve said “bacon,” that’s all I can see! 😀

helen Avatar

Which would you invest in Christine. Should i invest in this palette or plunk the cash into the CdP highlighter (#11?). I’m leaning towards the CdP but i always value your opinion (and anyone else who would love to weigh in).

Christine Avatar

They’re different products to me, so it’s hard to say. Cle de Peau’s highlighter doesn’t add as much color–mostly glow/luminosity–whereas the blushes add some color (though if you are deeper in tone, not so much, they are all pretty light-medium).

This palette is limited, though, and they’re good products (at least, the two permanent blushes in their individual forms — hopefully the quality is consistent in the palette!), so this might make more sense since Cle de Peau’s is permanent.

helen Avatar

My mistake, i confused this with the Ambient Highlight powders (which i own Dim – like my mistake!). Wondering if the palette of highlight powders was worth investing vs just the single of CdP #11. Sorry about that!

Jenny Cupcakes Avatar

I went to my local Sephora yesterday and asked when these were coming in (I also asked about Vice3). The sales associate was kind enough to take down my number and tell me that she’ll keep one on hold for me when they do arrive. Corporate is going to get a very nice email from me!

Jenn Avatar

Wow!!! 3 I don’t have. Hourglass is smart to put these together bc I think most ppl ended up with diffused heat and/or radiant magenta. So tempting!

evo Avatar

I know when I click on Sephora it says it’s for VIB only. When I log in, I can’t seem to put it in my cart. Maybe it’s not available in Canada yet?

Janelle Avatar

I am doing pretty good as this is the only thing that I want from the Holiday Collections.

Either everything is going to get tons better from here on out or I am going to have spent very little this holiday season…

Kelsey Avatar

They don’t really have the payoff for darker skin tones unfortunately. They’re stunning on fair skin, but they can come off a tad ashy when they even show up on darker tones. Super disappointing for pros and our lovely ladies of colour.

Kelsey Avatar

I would definitely try it in store to be sure, but I’ve seen the 2 permanent shades look lovely on fair-light/medium olive toned skin. I can’t speak for the limited edition shade obviously 😛

Hope that helps.

Mariko Avatar

I have Diffused Heat, and I loveeeee it. I absolutely want this! 2 colors I don’t have plus a new color, how can I say no?! I’m VIB Rouge and it says Coming Soon still on Sephora’s site – hopefully its released soon!

Kelsey Avatar

And the Xmas wishlist for the hubby grows. Will you be doing a review of this palette Christine? I know the 2 permanent shades have been done already, but that middle shade is right up my alley… I’d love to get the feedback before I casually beg my man for an early anniversary present.

Eliz Avatar

I’m a VIB Rouge as well and I’m seeing a “coming soon” message and can’t add it to the cart. I don’t know if it’s just not available yet (in which case, it would be better marketing to wait until it’s available to have it up) or if there was a very limited first round of stock and it’s sold out for now (also not the best marketing). I get that this all creates buzz and increases demand, but sometimes I just want the instant gratification of at least ordering a shiny, new plaything 🙂

Dee Avatar

ACTUALLY… going off of the Sephora website, the full size of the individual blushes is $35 for 0.15 oz. and this holiday palette says it’s 3 x 0.11 oz. (total value $77), so at $58 US this is technically a better value than the ambient lighting palette from last year 😀

Andie Avatar

So excited to be picking this up. I had a feeling they might do this so I held off on the Ambient Lighting Blushes. This and the Vice 3 palette are on my Christmast list to myself right now.

Tangie W Avatar

Why Hourglass!!!? It’s a must I have this I wanted Mood Exposure so know I’ll wait and get this. I already ordered the other palette so this will be a great addition to my hourglass collection.

Valerie C. Avatar

I have to buy this one. The only Hourglass product I’ve tried has been the primer and it was amazing. The price is good for 3 blush products too!

Elizabeth Avatar

Ugh! I wish they had two to choose from as i already have mood exposure! I still might buy this as it would be a bargain compared to if i would buy 2 blushes separately ($35 × 2 =$70) so maybe i will hand down my old mood exposure to my sis or just have extra….can’t wait to see swatches especially of the new one!

Annie Avatar

According to the Sephora website, the blushes in this palette are 0.11oz each vs. 0.15oz for individual ambient light blushes. Still a good deal I suppose but just something to keep in mind!

Jaime Avatar

I’m a VIB Rouge and it just says Coming Soon on the website. I checked the Hourglass twitter and they are now saying that Sephora will sell this palette to VIB Rouge on 9/19! I’m hoping to grab it as soon as it becomes available!

Helene Avatar

I’ve been wanting to try a blush or two from these. I think I’ll make an effort ant try to get this palette. I guess it’s about time I try to order from Sephora. 🙂

Candice Avatar

I’m excited about this!!! I don’t know if I’ll actually get it, but the idea of paying for smaller versions of 3 different shades is very appealing and it’s definitely a contender on the list of things that I might purchase in the next season.

I’m going to have to go check reviews of the two shades that are out to get a better idea. 🙂

Annie Avatar

Interesting, the two permanent shades in this palette are pretty similar. Maybe they thought a brighter one like Radiant Magenta would not be the best for a holiday/fall/winter palette? Many of them do look very similar in general… still loving my Radiant Magenta! Surprised that it turned out to be an everyday blush for me, very wearable.

Joanne Avatar

This just became available on Sephora’s website tonight for VIB Rouge members! I just placed my order, hopefully those who are looking into purchasing will be able to order as well! 🙂

Erin Avatar

I just bought this through the VIB Rouge exclusive, and I can’t wait to get it! I probably shouldn’t have, since I have Luminous Flush and Mood Exposure already, but I couldn’t resist. The new shade looks so pretty. I guess I’ll just have to pass on my singles to my mom! 🙂

Melanie Avatar

Hate to say this but I am passing on this one. I already have both shades minus the exclusive shade…..can’t justify the purchase. Might cave down the line when Sephora offers its holiday discount. Also quite annoyed in Sephora….I am VIB Rouge and where are the emails for exclusive releases and promotions ?? If Ulta sold Hourglass, Dior and a few other lines I would shop less at Sephora. I have seen this promoted here on Temptalia and Hourglass instagram but not from Sephora. Interesting.

Eliz Avatar

It’s finally live now and I ordered it. I currently only have Ethereal Glow Blush, so these will all be new shades for me. I love the formula so much.

If anyone had their eye on the new Urban Decay Full Frontal (why these names UD, why) Lipstick Stash, Sephora now has that in stock too. And, a super-cute little Hello Kitty “An Apple a Day” lip balm trio featuring those adorable little apple-shaped balms. Yes, this turned into a little haul for me today.

Melissa C Avatar

I love this and would have bought it today – but I am not VIB Rouge. I feel like they should just make things available to everyone at the same time. If this “sells out” before it gets to the rest of use VIBs and regular Insiders and they don’t make it available again – I’m going to be very disappointed.

Jane Avatar

I’m VIB Rouge, I got the email saying it was back in stock as I was on my way to bed last night, dropped everything and placed my order. I’ve been eyeing these blushes since they first came out, and the palette seems like the way to go.

I’m definitely going to have to watch my makeup spending going into this holiday season… it’s only September, and it’s already getting ridiculous!

kisha Avatar

im sure they’ll end up makin this perm like they did the last palette!! anyhoo…i really wanted to LOVE this palette but sadly its going back. it’s too sheer for my med drk complexion n i was REALLY lookin fwd to mood exposure **le sigh**

Karen Avatar

I ordered this palette as soon as Sephora sent the email that it was available and I wore IIncandescent Electra for the first time today and I love it! I was wondering if I should wait for the November Sephora sale, but knew I would be kicking myself if it was sold out then, so I got it right away.

colorful Avatar

I have to be honest, I have another color of this in the full size and these seem a bit more powdery to me than the others. They also take more effort to get to show up on NW25 skin tone than when I tried them the first time in store. I still like them, but not quite as crazy about them as I thought I would be due to the powdery nature. I will keep them but always wish they were just a bit nicer quality.
