Lipstick Queen Silver Screen Launches
Lipstick Queen Silver Screen
Hot on the heels (and we mean high heels!) of Velvet Rope comes Silver Screen, the sexiest, sassiest lipstick to date from Lipstick Queen. Founder Poppy King explains “While Velvet Rope paid homage to Hollywood glamour with its rich velvet finish, Silver Screen pays homage to its sassiness. Its rich yet wet feel is inspired by the slinky ladies of the silver screen. If this lipstick could walk it would sashay. My most vixen lipstick to date!”
The term ‘silver screen’ comes from the actual silver content embedded into the material that was used in the early days of the motion picture industry. The screens had a highly reflective surface that was extremely flattering to the women up there on the screen. The texture of the new Silver Screen lipsticks has been designed to have this exact same effect on each and every woman wearing it; enshrine her look with a flirty and sultry finish.
This glossy, wet-look effect is achieved with a high percentage of an innovative new active ingredient Pomegranate Sterols. This 100% natural active, derived from the pomegranate fruit, improves the barrier-function of the lips, keeping them soft and hydrated for longer, whilst also ensuring the intensely glossy look and feel of the lipstick. The formulation is further enhanced with anti-oxidant vitamin E, moisturizing plant oils, beeswax and skin-perfecting vitamin A, which ensure lips stay nourished and comfortable all day long. And just as with Velvet Rope, Silver Screen contains a high quality peppermint oil which releases its invigorating natural scent upon application.
The palate is a kaleidoscope of slinky siren shades ranging from a magnetic deep purple to sexy watermelon, to flirty nudes and a seductive wine. Each shade derives its name from an iconic line in a classic movie.
Encased in the same stunning packaging as Velvet Rope but this time in silver, Silver Screen is an extraordinary object to own and it feels equally extraordinary to wear. Poppy says “Pulling this out of your handbag feels like pulling out a piece of the Manhattan skyline and the endless possibilities that come with it.”

stella! & made it look amazing !
hopefully they’re as pigmented as they look .
^–^
I am really looking forward to grabbing a few from this line! I am in love with LQ’s lipsticks and these only sound better than the others!
My eyes immediately went to that peach shade of course… 🙂
Yyyyep. Gonna need to see Stella! 😀
Hmm… I not feeling the packaging. I understand that the line is called “Silver Screen” but I think the golden package felt more glamorous, so I don’t feel that the same design in silver holds the same appeal. I think gunmetal or even a darker silver tone would look more luxurious. These ones without the cap look exactly like Maybelline Vivids without their cap.
I don’t know why some of her lipsticks are normal priced and some are super expensive. The only difference I have noticed is the marketing and the packaging……
$50? I’m starting to notice a trend with this price point and I’m not happy. 🙁
From what I have seen of other LQ lipsticks, I would have to see these in action before I would make the dive for $50. The previous releases have not inspired me to make that reach.
I saw pictures of these lipsticks and fell in love with Stella!, but then I saw a swatch and it’s very sheer. 🙁 Too bad. I would give a lot to have a pigmented purple lipstick with turquoise shimmer. <3
These look interesting! Hope you do some swatches. I would like to know if they are gluten free?
Nooo, I just spent way too much money at Ulta! How did looking at Lipstick Queen when I was there?!
Not many stores carry the line, but it is available online. I would love to see these in person too!
Too pricey for me….
Christine have you ever reviewed their “invisible lip liner”?
No, sorry!
Look at that purple! I can’t wait to see swatches!
That’s a beautiful purple, but hell will freeze over before I drop that much cash on a lipstick. I say no to this madness.
The colours look nice!
Wow! These are stunning to look at. I’ve been wanting to try some more Lipstick Queen. I ordered one of their glosses a few weeks ago and planned out picking up some of their lipsticks this week, $50 is kinda steep for this particular line though…I’ll have to really think about it. :/
Really interesting choice of shades. Definitely not workhorse types. I still want to purchase one for that packaging though.
Holy Purple! I’m interested to see it swatched!
These look beautiful but I have a few of their lipsticks and the quality definitely was not worth $50. I’ll have to see them in person first.
I swatched the purple at Space NK and thought it was splotchy. I’m seeing a lot of interest in a swatch of that one and so added my impression…the others swatched better. Pricey though and not the most unusual shades.
I want the purple one! Maybe not for $50 though. :/
Love the peach & the nude. Right up there with the high end lipsticks @ $50- a pop. The case reminds me of Kevyn Aucoin and as you pointed out Velvet Rope. I do hear that nude calling my name!
$50 for a lipstick?!?! Do they have gold flakes?
I’m not sure I understand LQ’s foray into luxury pricing, and I’m a fan of the line. (I’ve put big dents in my tubes of Jean Queen, Medieval, and a few Saint shades as well.) It’s hard to fathom there is that significant a difference in formula to explain more than doubling the price.
Stella is calling out to me!
Lol!
For $50, it has to be a workhorse shade-one I would use 3-4X a week (at *least*)! I would be more than just slightly annoyed if a $50 lipstick went bad before I had a chance to make it through 3/4 of the tube…
Have Paris and Play It are very pretty! I’d need to at least see Stella! swatches, if not on someone’s lips. The hint of turquoise mixed in with the purple intrigues me!
$50 is a bit too much for me for a lippie.. 😛
Stella and Made it looks good. will be interesting to see swatches. I wouldn’t order anything for $50 unseen.
I can’t justify $50 for these dupeable lipsticks. That price point is outrageous.
Play It, Stella!, and Have Paris look fantastic, but I just can’t see myself paying $50 for a lipstick unless it makes me lose weight. All so pretty, though.
The packaging is gorgeous, and several of the shades are drawing me in, but I will wait for swatches before dropping $50. Made It and Have Paris are beautiful though!
