Charlotte Tilbury Bitch Perfect Kissing Lipstick
Charlotte Tilbury Bitch Perfect Kissing Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is lightly muted, light-medium coral with a hint of pink and warm undertones, and it has a lightly luminous finish–a little more of a sheen than satin. NARS Julie (P, $32.00) is pinker. NARS Brigitte (P, $32.00) is pinker. NARS Juliette (P, $32.00) is darker, brighter. MAC Modern Wow! (LE, $16.00) is brighter. Bite Beauty Centifolia (LE, $28.00) is warmer, brighter. NARS Descanso (LE, $25.00) is more matte. YSL Peach Passion (13) (P, $34.00) is lighter, brighter. The Kissing lipstick formula is supposed to have rich color, a luminous finish, and leave lips “soft, pert, soothed and hydrated.” It had mostly opaque color coverage, and the finish was true to luminous–a light shine that wasn’t glossy but more than satiny, which gave the lips a fuller, smoother appearance overall. The consistency is lightly creamy so that it glides on easily while depositing even color coverage without tugging or dragging on the lips. This particular shade lasted for four hours, though it was neither hydrating nor drying while I wore it. It had a vanilla scent but no discernible taste. The gendered slur in a name could use some work lol but the colour is indeed pretty.
I’m curious what the translation/meaning is more in the UK (the two together).
Looks like a play on “pitch perfect,” but it’s still vulgar, especially for a HE brand.
I was curious about this so I asked my husband (who is from the UK). He says he doesn’t recall them meaning anything different than they would here in the US.

Bitch doesn’t seem like a very fitting name for such a sweet and pretty shade! I love it though – light peachy coral shades like this are so gorgeous. And it seems like the formula is a real winner too. I may have to check this one out!

Audacious has a lot more slip, and on average, they wear longer, but Charlotte’s formula is sometimes hydrating (depends on the shade).

Argh.. I gravitate to shades like this: I have Bite Centifolia and YSL Peach Passion, but I do not wear them that often as they have a tendency to wash me out a bit. YSL Peach passion is definitely better than Centifolia which pulls too orange for me. I’m passing on this and the argh..similar shades in the new NARS formula.
This shade surprised me, because it looked more blah to me in the tube, but I ended up really liking it on.

The color is so pretty, but it looks a bit uneven in the swatch. Maybe the pigment doesn’t look that smooth or there’s something else about it that turns me off.

I think I am in the minority, in that I find the name incredibly tacky for a brand geared towards inspiring classic luxury, and I’m no pearl clutcher!

I love the idea of her makeup, and I might splurge on a blush, but I can’t see myself shelling out $32 for a lipstick that doesn’t blow my socks off (or have my daughter’s name–dang Nars). The finish of Love Glow might be enough to sway me. It looks absolutely gorgeous on your skin! I was so tempted by the magic cream, but it’s another thing I can’t see splurging on when I have so many other primers, moisturizers, and serums that leave my skin with the same effect. I’ll have to wait to see some more reviews of her line to see if there’s anything I can’t live without.

The name!!! I think this is great — the shade and formula sound lovely, and I’m always happy to see the word “bitch” being reclaimed. Give me all of the musical puns and “bitches get stuff done” one-liners!
(It’s weird to see it as the name of a luxury lipstick, but — I feel like it’s very Charlotte of her? And, dude, I’d happily pay $32 for “bitch perfect” before forking over $39 for Nars’ G-Spot!)

I tried this in person at the store and the consistency wasn’t as smooth as I was hoping. The brand’s launch was so hyped, I was expecting something spectacular.

This looks like such a perfect shade! Strange that it looks so much more rosy than peach in other swatches though. Charlotte Tilbury isn’t sold in the Netherlands (yet), so I can’t see it in person before I buy it. I will probably still take the plunge and order it online, because in these photos it looks too good to pass up!
I was very disappointed as I just received my Bitch Perfect lipstick yesterday, the color is nothing like the swatches on this website. it is more of a nude, pinky beige color and no coral at all. : (
