I get a little bit of flakiness along the edge of my nose that drives me bananas, because every other part of my face is totally hydrated!

Foundation & concealer match. My neck is a shade ish or so darker and much more yellow than my face and chest (and my body is as light and pinkier) so shade matching is a pain. Nothing will work because my neck being darker and yellower is just awkward.
Whether or not to keep my hair it’s natural auburn color, or go back to the dark hair that I’ve had for the past fifteen years.
My eyelashes. I don’t know if they fall out at an abnormal rate or if I’ve just been fixating on it, but every day like 3-5 fall out.
My infinitely watering eyes. I miss being able to wear eyeshadows without them going patchy in 30 seconds. :/
Acne. Had a severe outbreak all over the right side of my face (and around the chin/jawbone area on the left side). I thought it must either be the Ben Nye powder (which is mostly made of talc and which is something that can break people out) or the Bourjois Healthy Mix (which contains dimethicones and is heavily frangranced which are things which also break people out) but I can’t work out what’s causing it.
Foundation matching + redness reduction. I have very fair skin and it turns red in the summer, no matter what. It’s the heat, and not the sun because I am very careful to be completely covered in sunscreen and stay in the shade pretty much all the time.
Sun protection, pre-emptive anti-aging measures, making sure I don’t get any kind of hyperpigmentation (either from the sun or leftover from blemishes).
Undereye circles! Not really news – I’ve always had very deep and dark (brown toned) circles ever since I was born, and still at 22, I can’t seem to be able to find a decent concealer to cover them up!!
Omg I have the same problem! Nothing works! I have oily skin everywhere else but my chin and the sides of my nose are super dry!
I hear ya! I have the same problem.. and foundation or concealer just sticks to those dry patches and looks wierd! I have found a way with it though.. after applying my eye cream whatever is left on the fingers (I often squeeze out a tad more) I rub it on the sides of the nose and on my top lip line. That really helps!! 🙂
Nice one, i also get concerned alot about my face and i hope i don’t get those early wrinkles on my face anytime soon.
Skincare: I spend a lot of time on skincare and it’s nothing specific other than the ongoing process of trying to keep my skin in as good a condition as possible. At 50, if I scrimp on my routine, it shows very quickly so consistency and commitment are important.
Very, very true.
Blue undereye circles? Finding a foundation shade pale enough? Rogue dry patches and red spots on my cheeks? There are quite a few concerns, but only when I’m actually *looking* seriously at my face for makeup purposes.
My undereye circles are blue. You should use a peach concealer, try different ones out, it won’t look weird, it will color correct the blue circles.
Probably my skin. My biggest wish is to have perfect flawless even skin.
My under eye dark circles – not able to effective conceal them… Whatever bit i am able to conceal, takes too much time and effort.
I get the same flakiness, Christine and I think it’s common, even in those with oilier skin/combo skin with oily t-zone. My biggest concern is broken capillaries. I got a doozy one near the tip of my nose from a Biore pore strip but I think I’m prone to them because, as I’ve got older, I find that in winter, I tend to get them more in winter (my face is quite sensitive to the cold or maybe the change in temps coming inside from the cold; in any case, it’s not easy walking around outside with your face SWATHED in a scarf!) but I know that hot yoga doesn’t help much either. I keep saying I’m going to get them zapped and then I chicken out….
I am combating acne on my jawline! Everything is okay except that part. I have an appointment to my dermatologist this weekend. Good luck to me!
For me its skin texture, I have keratosis pilaris and get patches on my face. So trying to find the right products that don’t accentuate the dryness or texture has been tough. I use cream contour and blush but with summer time the creams melt off if I don’t set them with the powder but the powder sticks to the patches so I am basically counting down till fall! lol
One word – Pores!!
Chronically dry, flaky lips that no lip balm can seem to fix!
Amen!! Girl–I feel ur pain!!
My ever changing skin. I have oiliness, dryness, and flakiness at any given time, and the severity of any of the above depends on the weather. How I moisturize and what I use as a foundation, if any, changes almost daily.
I face the same thing Christine!! What do you do? I have started aloevera gel it’s helping a bit!
Apart from that my foundation doesn’t stay on my nose!! It drives me crazy!!!
I just try to apply a more hydrating moisturizer to that area, and then remember to keep with exfoliation (just regular, nothing intensive), but it gets better/worse depending on the week.
Have you ladies considered that you might have mild seborrheic dermatitis? It’s actually quite common in areas like the nose where there is an abundance of sebaceous glands. One of the possible causes is a yeast (fungus) that is found in the oil secretions on the skin. Since the scaling, flaking, or peeling is not the result of skin dryness, slathering on moisturizer is not the solution. If it is mild, it is easy enough to treat at home. You might want to check a reputable website like the Mayo. Clinic, WebMD, etc.
My doctor said it was drier skin when I asked her about it! I get like… one little flake, that’s about it. When I read up on what you listed, it doesn’t seem to be what I have, but I will definitely check in my doctor next visit.
Talk to your doctor. I have a little tube of prescription cream ($30) thatdoes wonders for dry patches. Nothing like it over the counter.
I had some flaking skin and found out myself it was seborrheic dermatitis. My derm had given me cortisone to put on it, I had tried ton of different moisturizers, but I finally found dermadoctor’s born to be mild cleanser. I haven’t had any flakies since I started using it about two years ago.
flakiness and itching on my eyelids drive me crazy
I’m also dealing with the dry skin around my nose and in my brow area. I find exfoliating really well and following up with some retinol and argan oil makes a difference.
Sun damage. I use sunscreen faithfully now, but not so much when I was younger. Now, when I get a little color from the sun, it highlights sun marks, freckles, and “squint” made wrinkles!
I cannot seem to ever be able to exfoliate my lips enough to wear matte lipstick! Right now I mix honey and sugar and rub it on my lips and even rub it off with a wash cloth too. It works somewhat.
Skin: fading of acne scars.
Cosmetics: Ensuring a foundation match between face and neck.
Nose flakies, same as you. Also, serious clogged pores/congestion just on my chin. and it’s not regular sebaceous filaments, which I know are normal. Tiny whiteheads and just rough feeling skin in general. I don’t know what’s up with it. I need to just bite the bullet and buy the Dermalogica daily exfoliant powder. I had a few samples a while back and the week where I was using it every day was the best my skin ever looked. I think I just have cloggy combination skin that can’t help itself along very well when it’s so humid.
Pimples! I never get them but all of a sudden my face is full of them and they won’t go away. I tried a no makeup 2 weeks to no avail. Tried over night masks, cleansers etc but nothing. It might be stressed but who knows.
Dark circles and dry/chapped lips.
Only one? I’m not sure it’s just beauty related but I’ve started to get cherry angiomas everywhere and I want them gone. All of them.
Can the doctors lazer the red places away?
My persistent pores around my nose and my cheeks.
Annoying!
Some fine line in my forehead are driving me crazy too.

My dark circles are forever a bother, but there’s no fixing that, so my bigger concern is that I’ve noticed my skin is getting more sensitive as I age. I have to keep an eye on breakout trends when I try new products.
(Right now, my acute concern is my hair. It’s a completely unflattering yellow-blonde shade because it’s in a transition stage to platinum! Not a good look on somebody as cool-toned as I am. Luckily, I only have to hold out until Monday and my hair will be repaired enough to redo the ends!)
skincare, antiaging hydrating serums, eye cream, body lotion that would moisturize without irritation
haircare, I have long blond highlighted hair, so its very important to keep the hair healthy looking, good pro-shampoo, conditioner, mask, restorative treatment, leave-in treatment are must for me
any beauty product looks good only on healthy skin, so I’d rather go for a high-endish skincare, plus I have ton of make up stuff already, will last me a lifetime:)
want to buy a new perfume though, just for fun, looking at Prada infusion d’iris at the moment, kinda to have a lighter but similar perfume to chanel no5 🙂
I LOVE Infusion D’Iris – it’s gorgeous and I’d choose it over No5 any day!
Oily skin. I wish I had dry skin because my oily skin drives me nuts. Nothing I repeat NOTHING keeps my oily skin under control. I’m still looking for a holy grail foundation that will keep my skin looking matte for at least 2 hours.
My acne. I NEVER had acne as a child/teen…but since I hit my late 20s-early 30s, it is in full effect!
Getting my redness from rosacea to be manageable. I just had my first round of IPL (my 2nd will be on Aug. 28) and I’m cautiously optimistic. I’ve not had many flare ups but I still have the tell-tale redness frequently on my face (unless I use Mirvaso). I want the redness gone. I’m hoping by the end of round 3 it will be gone and just need a touch up once every year.
Having large pores and dry skin. Most pore refiners are marketed to oily skin.
My current concern is finding a tinted moisturizer. I’ve just returned from the beach so my tan looks great so having a non oily, long lasting tinted moisturizer is important to have under my matte facial powder. I’ve purchased Neutrogena visibly even BB cream daily moisturizer (light to medium). I really like it!
The effects of ageing really: First wrinkles, less radiance, loss of tone and elasticiy… and the monthly 1 or 2 spots that take ages to heal and leave ugly marks when they finally disappear.
And I forgot to add: About 5 years ago I got rid of my milia in a salon. I went on 3 or 4 consecutive sessions on Sunday evenings at a beauty place in London’s Chinatown. There were a blessing really because I consulted with a couple of dermatologist and their prices were way above my budget and they would not consider working w/ends or evenings.
Now I watch carefully any new growth. I got a couple of milia needles and I get rid of them myself before they become all hard. The last one I got was really visible though: Just in my tearduck.
finding a eye cream to take away under eye lines, dark circles and puffiness, especially after crying my under eye area are still wrinkly and bruised looking 3 days after.before they were looking normal.if there was a eye cream that eliminated after -cryingmath puffiness and wrinkling that would be a miracle.
Fine lines on face and my eye lashes are becoming sparser as I age.
Me too – I never tanned my face after age 20 so that has helped a lot in the wrinkle department – plus having good genes.
Hooded eyes thanks to loss of elasticity, at least partly, I guess and large pores on my forehead and the parts of my cheeks closest to the nose. also the dreaded 11 wrinkles between the eyebrows. I had a bad, bad habit of drawing my eyebrows together when I was younger.
Botox, fillers and such cost a lot, unfortunately, and injections scare me a bit.
Foundation matching (I’m very pale, but my neck and body and even paler and more yellow than my face, so it’s a pain to find a foundation shade that doesn’t look unnatural) and acne scarring. I love my fair skin, but the smallest blemish will stand out very red and any scars are very, very noticeable.
Pigmentation patches – I have had good results from glycolic acid and the Shiseido white lucent range but it seems to be an ongoing battle for me! Le sigh…
Eyelashes and eyebrows get thinner as we age – but you are so young! Ask your doctor/eye doctor?
My current beauty problem is having a blemish appear a couple of times in a month. This just doesn’t happen and I am using my same products. Maybe I should change it up a bit?
The new ones in the last year or two, now that I’m in my late 20s. This one obnoxious blue vein that shows through under my left eye that always tricks me into thinking my eyeliner is smudged. That, and I’m starting to get smile lines — you know, the ones that curve down away from the corners of your nose toward the corners of your mouth? Curse you, age.
Hmm, have a couple of healing hormonal zits on my chin, and I keep cutting the same spot on my right knee every time I shave my legs.
The latter one is really disappointing, because I’m not only being careless, I’m being consistently careless in the same exact way!
Um, let’s see..at nearly 50? Chicken neck, large pores and eyelids getting droopy/crepey.
That’s been happening to me too! Even if try to add extra moisturizer to my nose it flakes 🙁
Other than that, the thing that’s been bugging me is I tried a new foundation and bam I got these little irritation bumps everywhere…
Melasma on my upper lip that makes it look like is have a mustache when it’s really just hyperpigmentation. Also blue/purple eye bags. I use a peach corrector but then the product settles into the creases of my undereye!
.
Oil. Oil, oil everywhere, blotting powder on the ferry before work, blotting tissue at 10, more powder at 2, wash my fringe every morning and it looks like I’ve dipped it in olive oil by noon.
I need help !!. I have always been a very downey woman but now it’s really starting to get me down. Now I am getting older (age 46 now) I find the blonde hair on my face is getting worse. I have been told that IPL is no good for me because the hair is so blonde that it wouldn’t work but it is so embarressing when my whole face is covered in fur and creating a coat on my face especially when it’s cold and it sticks out. Can anyone help me…. I live in New Zealand so we are very limited in products and treatments 🙁
Dear Christine ! Stop using Giorgio Armani Maestro Foundation for a while . The formula contains alcohol and fragrance chemicals , known as skin irritants .
Hi Amalia,
I don’t have any problems with it personally, but thank you for the concern! If you’re writing this in regards to my answer, I’ve actually been better off in terms of nose dryness since starting to use it again, as I only recently began using it again after not having used it for months.
I have a dark spot / discolored area above my lips… I have to make extra steps to conceal it… :(.
Wish there was a remedy for wrinkles, that didn’t involve a knife or needles! I keep trying to tell myself that my lines and wrinkles are part of my character…
I’d love to find a foundation that stays matte. Any recommendations, ladies? Has anyone tried tarte Amazonian? It’s hard to find something that isn’t like decorating plaster, but is suitably light and matte for ladies of an..ahem…certain age.
Not making a mess on my eyelids as I apply mascara. I’ve tried a few different techniques with very little variation in results. As careful as I try to be, I’ll make a mess if the mascara is too wet or if the brush has too much product on it.
All the foundations I use that are actually pale enough for me keep getting discontinued.
Acne 🙁 I’ve been getting horrible breakouts recently along my cheeks and jawline that I can’t hide with any amount of makeup. I’ve been prescribed clindamycin, tretinoin, and been started on birth control but still have th
the acne and scarring. Such a confidence buster.
Wow this really hits home 🙁 Those cheek/jaw ones just seem soooo out in the open for all the world to see.
Really bad oiliness that makes my foundation break up within hours 🙁
And acne. Always acne.
Redness – my face (which is usually red anyway, but that’s besides the point) and scalp are mea sunburned from vacation right now.
Graphic liner.
Not sure which color to dye my hair.
Dark circles under my eyes. I work a second shift and it doesn’t matter how much sleep I get, they never go away.
I get small acne like heat bumps all the time.. especially during monsoons! That’s my only skin concern.
Figuring out how to maintain my thick brows and I will forever be trying to get the perfect cat eye. My eyes look the same shape but up close the little differences make it impossible to get a good line going. Not to mention my crazy curly lashes that look lovely but get in the way of me applying any upper lash liner.
Foundation that matches and skin redness. The foundation matching is a little better now that I have a tan (5days on a rafting trip will do tha) and my nars tm in Alaska and d&g matte in bisque 75 look a bit closer to my neck. Also, foundation hates to stick on my nose!
my dark circles, how there seems to be nothing on the market to get rid of them. and how ive had wrinkles/creases since in my teens and there isnt a good concealer all in one color corrector on the market that does not crease
