The Scarlet Season: Smashbox Starlet Lip Enhancing Lip Gloss

Smashbox Lip Enhancing Gloss Siren ($18.00 for 0.20 oz.) is a semi-opaque shade of pinky-red with subtle golden shimmer and a high gloss sheen. Like previously mentioned Siren, the formula is all about high-shine without being sticky. It’s a moisturizing gloss that looks good and fades well, though it lasts about four hours on my lips. The scent is a lightly sweetened vanilla that’s pleasing without being cloying or synthetic. I do like Starlit over Siren, just because this has better coverage and doesn’t sink into lip lines much at all.

What about you? Would you wear this red?

The Scarlet Season is a series of posts showcasing and featuring my favorite shades of red lips–from glosses to lipsticks that runs through December 2009. You can sure expect to see a lot of red this holiday season!

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!
