Buxom Dolly Full-Bodied Lipstick

Buxom Dolly Full-Bodied Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.13 oz.) is described as a “shimmering mauve.” It’s a rosy plum with warm undertones and a soft, pearly shimmer. MAC Moody Bloom (LE, $17.00) is darker, more shimmery. Givenchy Brun Vintage (105) (P, $36.00) is pinker. MAC Mystical (LE, $16.00) is lighter. Estee Lauder Dynamic (P, $30.00) is lighter, warmer. MAC Out for Passion (LE, $20.00) is sheerer, brighter. MAC Morning Rose (LE, $16.00) is more shimmery. Chanel Equivoque (126) (LE, $34.00) is a touch lighter. Urban Decay Strip (P, $22.00) is browner. NARS Tolede (P, $26.00) is more matte. Giorgio Armani #526 (P, $32.00) is a touch darker. Burberry Peony Rose (302) (P, $30.00) is more matte. Make Up For Ever #4 (P, $19.00) is more matte. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

It had rich, full color coverage, though the texture wasn’t as creamy or as emollient as other shades in the Full-Bodied range. It didn’t tug when I applied the color, but I noticed a difference in the texture compared to past shades I’ve reviewed. The formula is lightweight, comfortable to wear, and wore well for almost five hours. It was moderately hydrating while worn, and there was no discernible scent or taste.

This is really pretty on you.I didn’t think I would like the color, but you have changed my mind.
I’m planning on getting it later.Last time I checked Sephora was sold out on this shade 🙁

I wanted to grab this yesterday, but it was out-of -stock… I have the gloss in this color, and really like it, so I was hoping to get this to pair with it.

This one is really lovely on you – a great warm, deep MLBB colour! 😀 i really want to try this lipstick line – I wish Bare Minerals had gone that far here (we only get the Marvellous Moxie ones, I think).

I still want to known what planet the naming/description people are living on though – mauve?! 😀

I own so many of these type of lipsticks/glosses/BB’s… But everytime I see one, I feel like I have to get it… 🙁

That’s your perfect lip color; it looks great on you.
Your skin is gorgeous! What other makeup are you wearing in these pics?

Am I way off, or is it my monitor, is it my memory, or do i just not get the concept? Buxom/Sephora or Buxom/BE had a Dolly set, Dolly in multiple incarnations/formulas, which sold out quickly. Dolly gloss came in a small size Sephora set w/Turkish Delight, Tarte Glitzy, + Fresh Rose a while ago. I like these sets with little sizes, for colors I won’t wear often, but that’s irrelevant. Am I way off, or is the gloss not even vaguely like the l/s? The gloss truly IS mauve, with some shimmer. It does not look warm to/on me. Is there a vast discrepancy here between the l/s and gloss iterations of the ‘same named shade?’ And is that common? Again irrelevant, but makes me glad I missed the Dolly set, bec. this would not be a good one for me, gorgeous as it is. .

A very pretty versatile lipstick. I’d get a lot of use from it. A pity Estee Lauder is so costly here or I’d buy the dupe for it, as the others are LE and or not available or for Givenchy or Armani really expensive. I do think I should go and compare EL, Givenchy and Armani and a few other brands to see just how much a lipstick is, also considering the amount one gets. A project for a rainy day, I think 🙂
A very nice colour for you Christine, but then you look good in any lipstick.
