If only 2 brands have it, it’s not common…at all. Some drugstore brands should also make such a shade cause I would love to own one but I don’t want to spend all the little money I have on MAC…even though I would use it quite often as I love green.

Actually Wet and Wild has a quad with a color just like that its the one called “Comfortable”? Or something like that it has neutral colors it in matte and shimmer. I used it for a very long time, very good pigment for drugstore.

I own the goldenrod/shifts to pale green shade. The pigmentation and texture are both very nice, but the duo chrome is barely there. I’ve swatched the rest of the colors, and “on the road” is one of the 1000 similar colors to Mac’s Club. On the plus side, the duo shift is the strongest in “on the road” compared to the other Shade Shifter eyeshadows.

Hope you like them!

I have the orangey bronze one. The formula is great–not powdery and very smooth. The duochrome makes it look like you used more than one shadow. It’s a bold color, not for everyday, but I like it a lot. Great with blue eyes!

Right?! Club is one of the shadows used for the makeup in the Great Gatsby film–it’s used for one of Myrtle’s friends when Nick and Tom end up at a crazy drunken party. It does a really nice job of making her look ultra strung out.

Lotus Avatar

Why? I’ve been through so many “club” eyeshadows & pans that I’m intrigued to ask what goes wonky for you that makes it not so fun for you? And I agree about pigment! Both the Brown/Green and Blue/Brown pigments are lovely for this! Sublime! This is where pigments shine! 😀

These look really interesting and, coincidentally, I’m just heading out the door to Sephora…though they’re probably not in Canadian stores yet. I’ve only just ventured into KvD and have lots of shadows like the green one (and rarely wear them – not really appropriate in my line o’work!) but the purple one is totally worth a look and who knows…I might be tempted by both. The price seems hard to beat!

That’s a really good deal! I have On the Road and it’s very pretty with noticeable shift. I would agree that it’s more noticeable than in the other colors in the set. Still, there’s a lot of product in there for the price. The applicator sponge it comes with is actually big enough to use, especially just to dampen to put on a bolder layer of color.

i love these! i swear she has 3 different versions of the blue/brown/green sort of shadow and i own tons of other brands versions and hers are pretty good! the purple really makes my eyes pop. if i can remember correctly, there’s at least one more color? i don’t have it but i want it. i wonder if they’re trying to get rid of them to make way for a new product?

Duochromes are the ultimate! 😀 Love Letter is like Jazz(berry) from the MJB Highliners, and the other is warm rusty red with some teal & green shift. The other two I highly favor over these. I do prefer keeping my white palettes around, the ones made with various shimmer washes and duochromes, to alter my shadow color. 😀

I’ve been intrigued by the line, I remember seeing a few reviews when they came out. Doubt I’d pick up this particular set unless I was going to gift away On the Road. I’ve got it duped already, like a lot of people into makeup! (I’ve got one in a Lorac palette and a loose L’oreal HIP one, haha!)

I use that type of shade in the outer-v/crease with some neutral looks, since I rarely do a straight-up neutral look, myself.

Love Letter looks like my kind of color, though, will be neat to see it reviewed.

I have On the Road, and I agree that the duochrome shift is very noticeable. The quality is very good and I can usually get a nice one shadow look from it.

I have love letter and I absolutely love it. The color is so pretty as a one eyeshadow look ( little over the crease) it’s a purple that has hints of khaki, brown and even pink. Because of the multi dimension tone. I use it dry and it is still extremely pigmented. The only thing is when used dry, it has fall out so I usaully put a napkin under it so it’s not on my face. Rebut honestly the color is amazing that I do not mind one bit. 😉

The one on the left looks like that shade NARS released in the Adult Swim collection. I’m willing to bet I like the NARS formula better though.

thanks Christine for sharing this! What a great deal! I have the orange and just recently acquired the blue one- this completes my collection! 🙂

I have On the Road and LOVE it. It’s my favorite brown-green duochrome. Very smooth and surprisingly wearable for everyday. I am curious about Love Letter, but it clearly doesn’t shift as strongly. Thanks for the heads up- I think I am gonna grab these.

Sylirael Avatar

I’ll be interested to see how these swatch/work out if you get a chance to review them! We don’t have KvD here (of course, LOL), and aside from MAC there aren’t so many duochromes available in any brand that is here. 🙂

Also, I had to chuckle at that reply you made above about going for a neutral look and then teal happens or something – I do the same thing all the time! I pick up my Naked 2 palette, do a look, then I’m not satisfied until some purple or turquoise has worked its way in somewhere!

I’ve had love letter for a while now and did review it a while back. I was slightly disappointed with the pigmentation to be honest ( esp. considering its a KatVon D product and thats pretty much what her products are known for) but it’s a very pretty colour 🙂 Will be cool to see what you think of it as well!
