Figures. I had almost 800 and finally used them for the Bare Minerals and a couple other 100 point rewards – after having them sitting around for ages. ARGH!!!

Emily Avatar

Same! I’d been saving mine for over a year and just picked up the Bare Minerals kit on Friday. Now I only have 300 points… The Bare Minerals kit had a lot of really nice products though. I’m wearing a few of them today!

Carolyn Avatar

Ah! I just used 350 points on my Sephora order this weekend for a fragrance plus another deluxe sample, sadly, haha. The lipstick looks beautiful, plus I really enjoy the Lip Gel formula! Do you think you might do a review on this in the future, Christine?

Sara Avatar

Ahhh I wish this was 500 points! I’ve been saving up my 500 points for a while now, and I just passed on the Bare Minerals set they have. Hopefully another decent 500 point reward comes up at some point. It takes me a really long time to get points…

I’m over Sephora and the VIB Rouge thing. The rewards just aren’t worth it, I spend 1000 dollars and all I get back is a lipstick and lipgloss? That’s 5% back of what I spent. I should be able to use my points on things I actually want and need to purchase, like Ulta. Argh. >=[

Joyce Avatar

the two lip products are worth $60… that’s only 6% of your total purchases. You would think they would give you more value for your $1k that you spent there?

Carrie Avatar

I’ve been VIB for the last two years; this year there’s a very real chance I’ll go back to BI and I can’t find myself caring. An extra 5% discount twice a year? Yeah, that’s totally worth the extra $$ it takes to get to VIB. Not.

So disappointing.

LU Avatar

I hear ya! Skinstore, com has 20 percent practically all year, and most retailers ff sales are 20-30 percent. I have also turned away from Sephora since the rouge program in search of better deals.

Nadia Avatar

I got an e-mail today saying that I am close to getting my VIB (500 points, not 1000) so I guess they’ve sent everyone some kind of e-mail regarding their points status. =]

Rikki Avatar

I do have 1,000 points sitting around (lol), but… that’s $1,000 spent. O.O I could just buy these two for waaaay cheaper. :3 Then again, I know Sephora’s rewards are just PFFFFFFT lately and my points will probably continue to sit so… this might be cool to spend it on…

LU Avatar

Totally agree. I think we should be able to use our points for things we actually want to purchase. If I spend 1000 dollars at your establishment, clearly there are things I will buy with my points, if that were an option.

I’ve only ever gone for the 100 point perks twice, the first time was a mini givenchy lipstick, which is seriously the cutest little thing with perfect packaging. And then last week a mini tarte cheek stain knowing that I will never use a whole one up but also knowing i love the convenience and the shade. It’s entirely different than asking for a sample to decide I want something. Also no chance of germs.

Lately I’ve been going to the dept stores and getting their gifts with purchases – SUCH a better deal. I recently got one from Clinique and one from Estee Lauder that were amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could have purchased the items from Sephora but the gifts I got with purchase were mind blowing compared to the silly little samples. I am not going to be worried if my status gets downgraded. I’ve been VIB Rouge and have seen nothing except free shipping (I rarely order online) that is a big deal anyway.

Tori Avatar

Watched the video, but it didn’t help. I would have preferred to see a model wearing the two products as he did a voice over. Oh well 🙁 I think I’ll keep banking my points. I’m hoping Sephora continues to expand their point perks and begin offering points for dollars rewards.

Brittany Avatar

Has there been any mention if the colors in this set are exclusive to the 1000 point perk? I looked on Sephora and through the Marc Jacobs site and neither color has been listed.

Wednesday Avatar

I had to grab this. I find I accumulate tons of points with Sephora because I rarely find items for which I actually want to redeem the points. So yeah, I have tons of points and this is one of the first VIB Rouge point benefits I can get excited about!

I do wish Sephora, like the vast majority of other loyalty programs, would let us pick and choose and apply points to our regular purchases. It’s one area where Sephora falls down compared to the rest.

Christine Avatar

Yeah, that’s how I was – well, two full-sized products that I would probably have bought? I’ll take it — the only good thing is that the points rollover/don’t expire, but in general, I don’t see anything I want to spend points on. I prefer Nordstrom’s for beauty, since at least I can notes back and apply them towards something I want to purchase (usually shoes).

I’m glad they’re giving some full sized rewards. I don’t even know how many points I’ve got b/c I never use them for those little bitty sample things, esp since I can sample stuff in the store anyway. I don’t think I have anywhere near enough points for this, tho. Too bad for me; it looks really pretty.

Meghan Avatar

I’m kinda disappointed that I didn’t get any info on this, even though I have Rouge status. However, I have one Marc Jacob Lip Gel (in Little Pretty) and I’m not that into it – not very good pigmentation for the price I feel. Even if I had the points, it wouldn’t be worth it for me. But I’d like to see more of these special rewards for Rouge members.

furandlace Avatar

Meh…I have something like 1,500 points and the sales people always look at me like I’m crazy for having that many and not using them. They should get a clue that the reason I have that much is because their reward system SUCKS. They need to implement a reward system like Shoppers Drug Mart has in Canada. You earn points with purchases and there are different reward levels where you cash in your points for ACTUAL $$$$ that you can spend on anything you want in the store. The only thing that keeps me going back to Sephora is their generous return policy.

Yay! $1,000.00 to experience a color before others! WOW!
– Customer service downhill
– illamasqua gone
– I CAN BUY A DRUGSTORE, or at least feed a village with $1,000.00
– These points are BOGUS! More keep fleeing from SEPHORA, but I am glad Christine is happy! Yay! You rock it, Christine! 😀

Just saw on Sephora that the Love Marc Lip Gel in Cabaret is being sold exclusively to VIB Rouge for $30. No mention of the lipgloss.

I got my reward several days ago. First lip items from the Marc Jacobs line for me. The colors are pretty dark but I like them. The lip gel isn’t as glossy on me as I thought it would be..feels more like a regular lipstick. Covers really well. My hubby’s reaction when I wore the lipstick was “Oooooo…..Sexy!!”….It IS pretty sexy is you can pull off the dark wine color (which is how it looks on my olive complexion with neutral undertones).

You guys are so lucky. I live in France and Sephora France gifts are crap. After 1000 € you get a lousy faux leather sephora brand bag (or sport bag, or vanity, at least you can choose). Honestly? 1000 euros for THAT! You may or may not like Marc Jacobs but I’d switch places in no time for 2 full sized products of a luxury brand. At least it’s a beauty product! Isn’t that what every beauty addict wants? Apparently Sephora France doesn’t think that way.
