The Scarlet Season: MAC Queen’s Sin Lipstick

MAC Queen’s Sin Lipstick ($14.00 for 0.12 oz.) debuted as a limited edition shade in Antiquitease, which was launched in the 2007 holiday season. It’s a stunning shade of brightened up ruby red with a soft frost finish. It applies evenly and opaquely with just two layers, and it hugs lips and ends up having a longer wear-time than the average MAC lipstick. I was really hoping to see MAC release another stunning holiday red this year but no such luck! You can check out some lip color combos I’ve done using Queen’s Sin, if you’re looking for ideas!

The Scarlet Season is a series of posts showcasing and featuring my favorite shades of red lips–from glosses to lipsticks that runs through December 2009. You can sure expect to see a lot of red this holiday season!

Okay, wow. That is one of the prettiest frost lipsticks I have seen, and much redder on lips than it appears in the tube. What a great color – really IS a shame there were no holiday reds this year – what the heck, MAC? 😛 But yeah, I’m not into frosts as a general rule (except for Sci Fi Delity and Viva Glam IV) but this one is lovely.

This is really one of the most lovely reds you’ve shown so far. I love the light sheen on this one, but I think it would still be too dramatic for my fair skin.

I love this series by the way – maybe you can do pink in the spring time!!

I actually like the idea of doing both pink and coral for springtime. I love pinks myself, but I’d like to see which coral shades you think are standouts, too!

I’m genuinely surprised that MAC won’t re-release Queen’s Sin. The demand after the initial release should have been an indicator of successful re-promote potential, or just making it a permanent shade. Ahh…it’s the little disappointments in life that can irritate the most. Heh.

I love this red too. I wish I got it when it was released. I got Port Red because it was supposed to be a dupe but it’s a bit warmer than Queen’s Sin, I think. I hope they re-release this one!

I think I am in love! I saw the other red lipsticks that you also applied on your lips but for some reason i keep coming back to this one. It’s so beautiful and I LOVE the finish. You’re truly amazing Christine!

Hi Christine! Please let us know if they ever do re-release this lipstick! My heart sinks at the thought of not being able to own this color!

Aww, now I must have it after seeing the swatch. Re-release it already, MAC! *shakes fist*

I wonder how it looks compared to Fresh Moroccan though. It looks redder but I’ve only seen online swatches so I really wouldn’t know… x_X;
