Shiseido Esmaralda (BL 620) Shimmering Cream Eye Color
Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Color ($25.00 for 0.21 oz.) is supposed to be a “lightweight cream eye shadow with a radiant, lustrous finish that maintains a just-applied fresh look for 16 hours without smudging or creasing.” I loved the texture of the formula, as it is really creamy and lightweight, so it blends and applies over the lid fairly evenly. There is a fair amount of slip to it, so the drying time is a bit longer, but once it dries down, it stays in place for about eleven hours (which isn’t close to the 16 claimed, though). The three shades I tried were pigmented but could be sheered out if you wanted a sheer wash of color.
Shiseido Esmaralda (BL 620) Shimmering Cream Eye Color ($25.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “deep, elegant aqua blue.” It’s a medium-dark, muted blue with a slight teal leaning and a frosted finish. It had good pigmentation and applied easily over the lid, and the wear was just over eleven hours in total. Tarina Tarantino Ozma (LE) is more teal, powder. Kat Von D Bukowski (LE) is powder. Sleek MakeUP Sunset #6 (P, $9.99) is brighter, powder. Disney by Sephora Diamond Sky (LE) is more teal. Urban Decay Unhinged (LE, $18.00) is darker, more muted, powder. Urban Decay Peace (P, $18.00) is powder, brighter. Urban Decay Haight (P, $18.00) is darker, powder. NARS South Pacific #1 (P, $24.00) is brighter, warmer, powder. Maybelline Tenacious Teal (P, $6.99) is more shimmery. See comparison swatches

Shiseido Sudachi (GR 619) Shimmering Cream Eye Color ($25.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “juicy green.” It’s a medium, warm-toned green with a soft, frosted finish. It looks almost cooler-toned if applied at full intensity, but if sheered out, it looks warmer and warmer as the yellow undertone gets pulled out. This shade had good color payoff, and it wore well for eleven hours on me before starting to slightly crease. Makeup Geek Appletini (P, $5.99) is lighter. Disney by Sephora Fins (LE) is cooler-toned. Urban Decay Kush (P, $18.00) is a powder but similar in color. Milani Green Safari (P, $6.49) is cooler-toned, darker. MAC Feeling Fresh (LE, $15.00) is warmer, powder. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Foxfire (P, $14.00) is powder. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Shiseido Mist (WT 901) Shimmering Cream Eye Color ($25.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “pearl.” It’s an iridescent, pink-tinged white with a very sparkly, high-frost finish. It had fairly good pigmentation, but this shade was more prone to applying sheerer than really opaque, so you may find two layers necessary for opaque color, if desired. This color works well for highlighting in the inner tear duct or as a wash of color on the lid to brighten the eyes. It wore well for ten and a half hours before starting to crease. bareMinerals Skinny Dip (LE) is a powder. MAC Violet Blend #1 (LE) is darker, powder. MAC Pink Sensibilities #2 (LE, $21.00) is darker, powder. Tarina Tarantino Delightful #3 (P) is less sparkly, powder. Tarina Tarantino Diamond Dusk #2 (LE) is less sparkly, powder. Tom Ford Beauty Seductive Rose #1 (P) is less sparkly, powder. Tom Ford Beauty Enchanted #1 (LE) is a powder. MAC Fresh & Mint #2 (P, $21.00) is cooler-toned, powder. MAC Ready to Party (LE, $19.50) is darker, powder. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

The look you created is gorgeous. I wasn’t sold on them at all until I saw then on your eye. Likely won’t add them now…but wow!
Aw, thank you Megan!
Are these new? I wonder if Esmaralda is the gorgeous blue I was eyeballing at the Smith and Caughey’s (department store) sale last year…
Love the eye look! Mermaidy <3
They added four or five new shades recently (I don’t know how recently) – I picked ’em up during the last Sephora sale 🙂
Those colors are lovely, and 11 hours is certainly enough wear time for most (even if it isn’t the full 16). May have to check these out!
11 hours is good to me, as well! Honestly, I wish brands would always under-market with respect to things like that! Perhaps more of an average wear time? something more reasonable.
The blue and green are so so pretty! My eyes suddenly widened when I saw the swatches! beautiful!! I have a few colors from the old line and there are so creamy and rich love them! You eyes are so pretty in the look!
I think you’ll like these if you have the old line! Very similar, IMO!
That is the most gorgeous eye makeup look I’ve seen in months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE IT!!!
Aw, thanks Michelle!
There was a time when I used nothing but Shiseido Shimmering Cream eyeshadows! I thought they were the best cream eyeshadows out there. Between then and now I’ve found several other brands that are cheaper and that I like just as much or even more, but I’m still a fan. I only wish they’d put the actual names on the packaging here, instead of just the color codes. I can never remember them.
Which gems have you found so far?
I agree – it’s weird that they have names yet only numbers on them! And Sephora doesn’t list numbers, just names, lol! Luckily, I bought three really distinct shades so I could easily line ’em up.
These look pretty blended out! That eyelook is simply gorgeous!
Thank you, Vineetha!
I kinda like the sheered-out swatch of Sudachi.
Essmeralda is pretty, too, but I already own 3 of the dupes.
I think it is pretty sheered out as well!
The finish of these is gorgeous, I’ve been wanting to try them forever!
They’re worth trying if you see ’em!
Such fabulous colours and sooo pretty and appealing to my eye… but.. I would never wear these personally. Oh yes, I’ve tried and just end up feeling like some bad throwback to the 70’s. I’ll leave these beauties to others who would do them more justice.
Maybe one of the other shades could work 🙂 The range is huge, so I’m tempted to pick up some neutrals.
They blended so lovely on you! Mist looks like it would be a really good over-the-top face highlighter for theatre and such.
Mist is a really cool, versatile shade!
That green! <3
It is so lovely!
I like the look of these but I’m not sure I’m crazy about them. Not enough to buy anyway.
Aw, too bad!
Have you ever found/worn a product that actually wears up to what it claims?
Yes, definitely! Many do live up to their claims 🙂 It’s really more when brands make really, really long-wear claims that we start hitting a higher fail rate. When brands say 6, 8, 10 hours, etc. I’ve had better luck. 16 is hard!
Love what you’ve done with them on your eyes – stunning. I’m only getting things if you give them an A rating tho’. Oh well..
Thanks, Denise! 🙂
