Haul: Celebrated the end of my no-buy with Marc Jacobs Style Eye-Con No. 7 “The Siren” Palette! Also picked up Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector, YSL Rouge Volupté in Opera Rose, a MAC 219 pencil brush and some Julep nail polishes.
Weekend plans: Plant some flowers. Weed the gardens. Figure out some technology contraptions to start doing video makeup tutorials. Write a food blog post.
Favorite cold drink?: Definitely a mocha frappuccino. Though… I reach for a plain ol’ fresh-brewed iced tea more often than not!

I did!!! And I love it! I kind of refer to it as my ‘watercolor, sophisticate’ brights vs. Urban Decay’s in-your-face Electric Palette. I think the Marc Jacobs palette turns out very refined-looking eye makeup that can be as bold or as wearable as you want to make it. I’m really enjoying this! And I would happily recommend it to people who aren’t so sure about using brights but want to start incorporating color into their lives.
YAY! I’m so glad you’ve had great luck with it, Larissa. I really agree – it is a great option for someone who finds traditional brights TOO bright or difficult to work with. The shimmery finishes of the MJB palette also make it easier to work with and blend, IMO! Matte brights can be trickier if they don’t work well naturally (e.g. yellow into orange is easy, but yellow into blue can be more difficult).

Thanks for the well-wishes, it wasn’t actually too bad and I’m already feeling pretty back with it. I picked up the Horus Heresy board game really cheap, some sourcebooks for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game system, a few really old Warhammer 40K miniatures, and one of the old Colossal Red Dragon miniatures from the old Dungeons and Dragons line. I paid only about 12% of its online cost, so I was really excited since I paid 60 and they sell online for about 300-480 dollars.
I had a friend try to get me to go to the San Francisco Ulta with her, but I didn’t get a chance to, and that might be for the best. 😛

Haul: the breast cancer Tweezerman tweezers, Naked flushed in Strip and Streak, a tarte 12 eyeliner set, and several of the Marc Jacobs nail polishes. I’m in love with the formula. I feel the same collector-ness for them that I had for Pokemon 15 years ago. Gotta catch em’ all! I got Gatsby (I’ve decided this is what’s going to be on my nails for my wedding next spring), Petra, Shocking, Oui!, Nirvana, Stone Jungle, Sally, and Blue Velvet.
Weekend plans: go to my mothers house to help my little sisters shop and prepare for thier summer trip.

MJB’s nail polish formula is really nice and they have a lovely selection of shades.
Cle de Peau Extra Rich Lipstick in Sk202. Seems to be a dupe of the original formula’s Comtesse de Cayla, and Burberry’s Nude Rose. The frostiness of it surprised me, and I really don’t like the holder. 🙁

Haul: I bought Bite Beauty’s lipstick in Zin! I’m quite pleased with it so far. I also got Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate during their F&F sale and it just arrived.
Weekend plans: My bf is coming down to visit me in my college town. This is the last weekend before dead week so I have lots of studying to do, but I think we’re going to hit up the Prefontaine Classic.

Haul: Oh it’s been baad. I went crazy at Bobbi Brown this last week and a half. I made a 6 pan eyeshadow palette, bought 6 (yes 6!) shimmer bricks, 5 lipsticks, and got the Raw Sugar palette. I picked up 2 Sonia Kashuk 4-pan palettes at Target (textured cocoa and textured mauve), which I surprisingly love. I grabbed 2 new Dior Addict lipsticks, and I bought a pile of MAC too (8 shadows, lipstick in Shy Shine, and a paint pot). It’s time to cool it for a while and enjoy all my goodies!
Weekend Plans: Clean house before my in-laws come stay next week. Lots and lots of laundry! Hopefully I’ll catch a movie too 🙂

Six Shimmer Bricks!!! Which ones have you used so far?
So far I use Beige the most for cheek highlighting, with Rose as a close second. I’ve been loving Bronze and Pink Quartz for my eyes. I haven’t tried Apricot or Nectar yet, but I think they’ll be beautiful with coral or peach lips for summer 🙂

Haul: Ole Henriksen Truth Revealed Super Creme with SPF 15 (it’s my every day face cream) and On the Go Facial Cleanser; from the Sephora house brand, their special LE bronzer/blush trio called “Bronzed and Blushing Face Palette”. And I spoiled myself by treating myself to a bottle of Mistral Patchouli from Atelier Cologne.
Plans: Yoga and/or gym tomorrow and some baking (sort of defeats the purpose of the gym but I’ve got some rhubarb just crying out to be baked into something yummy) and on Sunday, driving to the city to take our younger son out for brunch (he’s working there on his co-op term)
Favourite cold drink: probably lemonade – real lemonade, not from a mix, and especially strawberry or raspberry lemonade.

Haul: Its been a bad week(for my wallet, but a fabulous one for me! Woohoo!) got a YSL baby doll eyeliner in black, an emerald green coat cardigan(waited two years for the right shade of green!), got a limited edition Jo Malone fragrance in wisteria and violet (smells divine, am walking around with my wrist glued to my nose!) and a black pair of harem pants.
Weekend plans: Hopefully going to watch the new X Men movie. Always up for a spot of Hugh Jackman watching. Michael Fassbender ain’t too shabby either!

I bought a purse from the 50s, a bit quirky, like a box with metal sort of braided for the purse itself and the lid and handle made of, and I’m unsure about the spelling, luceite.
I also found, but didn’t buy, some compacts, some with powder still in them. They are so pretty, but I’ve no idea where to get refills, I don’t think it’s possible. I have a compact that belonged to my grandmother. Vintage stuff is so much fun.
Oh, forgot, I did buy a 1940s dress, I need to fix some of the seams, but I got it at a very good price.

Pressed! The pressed version of Opal has become one of the new YT “it” products now apparently, and Becca + Sephora have decided to jump onto the faux scarcity wagon. I really hate when companies do this to customers. It’s lame.
Becca seems like a brand that just doesn’t produce a lot of stock (because they seem like one of those underrated/lesser talked about brands to me) – those Souffles were out of stock SO fast when they initially released even when nobody had said anything about them (pretty sells, obviously!), but it seemed like Sephora/Becca were fairly quick to restock though they can’t *keep* them in stock either. It would be interesting if they were artificially keeping it low, though, since it’s not even LE!
Yeah, all of those Souffles are currently out of stock. Don’t know how long it’s been that way, but with Opal pressed when it goes out it seems to stay out several weeks to months, and when they do bring it back in stock that lasts like less than 2 hrs. It just kind of feels like they have started doing what goes on with the UD Naked palettes, lol. This dang thing is sold out almost everywhere. I’m going to try and place a phone order for it, though.
It’s hard for me to fathom brands underestimating demand by so much each and every time, so it seems like something deliberate, but sometimes, I really just don’t understand it–especially when it’s done with permanent products so it’s not as if you won’t be making more than people will want!
You can it at Amazon, Dermstore, and other retailers of Becca. 😀 I just had to pick up a moonstone! Moonstone & Pearl are my favorites! 😀
Thanks, Lotus! I actually found out a semi-close store has it in stock, so didn’t end up having to do much extra hunting! Moonstone in the liquid was my original favorite, but I’m a highlighter addict, so trying something new! Have you tried both the liquid and powder versions?
Yay! That’s great timing! I love highlighters as well and I still don’t think I’ve unlocked all the potential of the Shimmering Skin Perfector (Pump cream liquid) as it just blends out but never disappears so it’s wonderful for a twitch of the head, anything to pick up light soo beautifully! I really like the formula, unlike anything else, so I’ve not switched to the powder one, but in the powder there’s a gorgeous rose gold too! What do you think of the “liquid” versus the something new “powder,” highlighter? I’m really interested! 😀 Thanks!
I feel like the shimmer is slightly more pronounced in the powder versions. I want to say I like the liquid more only because I feel it’s more versatile, but with that said, I tend to always gravitate toward a powder version more no matter what I think of the liquid/cream.

1) Hourglass Opaque Rouge in Icon. Damn, what an amazing red. Blue based but still deep without veering into berry or wine hues (and matte, which is so important to me when it comes to reds). NARS blush bronzer duo with Sin and Casino. I’ve wanted Sin for a long time and for the first summer ever I’m embracing the bronze look. And the hype finally pulled me in, Bite Beauty’s Agave Lip Mask. I really like the lip mask, it works really well for me.
Right now I’m trying to resist getting the Becca highlighter in Opal. It’s so dang purdy. (Actually I think all three of the Becca highlighters are gorgeous. *drools*)
2) Work work work.

I haven’t bought anything yet but I probably will buy a pink eyeshadow(and more, but I gotta decide which) and a natural-pink lipstick from a greek brand, Trendy by Cosbell, which I can only find at a small shop in the University subway station 😀
The funny thing is that the same producer makes other two brands, Seventeen, which is a bit more expensive but still cheap, and Radiant, which is more expensive. The thing is that there’s no point in buying the Radiant and some Seventeen ones(except for unique colors) cause most of their products contain the same ingredients. Why spend 10 $ or 15$ on an eyeshadow when you can spend 3$ on the same formula? 😀
Weekend plans: Just being lazy….maybe I’ll go shopping with my mom…IDK if I’ll buy clothes…I’m gonna watch Her

Haha! I have to avoid Petsmart so I don’t buy him even MORE toys. I usually go once a season – I try to at least only get the cheaper toys, lol!
Haul: I have bought way too much! Two orders from Macys arrived with various things from the Alluring Aquatic collection,: seduced at sea blush, aphrodites shell beonzer, se goddess lipstick, clear water and water deities lipglasses; my beauty.com order arrived, with the TF chocolate bar palette. I placed a Sephora order with the Tarte body bronzer and the sun kit, and my bare minerals order from their sale arrived, I got a blush set (I am a blush-aholic!) the hot list set and a couple lip glosses. I am anxiously awaiting a dillards order, and a Nordstroms order. I think that’s it but I feel like I’m forgetting something. After reading that I feel like I need to voluntarily commit myself for an addiction!
Plans: my dog, Bella, has a vet appointment today, so that is always an adventure. I need to go into work for a bit and I plan to catch up on some blogging, of my own.

I have very oily lids and watery eyes, so it’s difficult to find an eyeliner that will not make my wings disappear with wateriness or smudge with the oiliness whether it be liquid, gel, or pencil. This liquid liner:
-Stays on beautifully (so long as I’m not crying!).

I can’t say enough good things about it, truly. Well, it’s supposed to have some serum to help you eyelashes grow longer or be fuller, whatever. Haven’t seen much of that, but… WHO CARES?! 😀
Hey, since it’s not an $80 serum, it can be forgiven for living up to all THOSE things but not the lash growth thing (and personally, lash growth stuff for some reason creeps me out, lol).
Haul: Just ordered the Too Faced Natural At Night Palette, OCC nail polish in Radiate and Anime from sephora. The ulta and sephora around me both stopped carrying the Natural At Night Palette, I was afraid they are discontinuing it.
Weekend plans: Going to a bbq after work today.
Favorite cold drink: Java chip frappuccino, jamba juice berry upbeet smoothie.

The Ultim8 is a little lighter in consistency than the orange one I’ve tried but heavier than the pink one I last used up, but in terms of cleaning, they all do an excellent job removing everything! I’m so glad you’re loving it! YAY! shu has one of the better consistencies to me – ones from say Bobbi Brown and MAC are effective but heavier, a little more “oily” during application. I think shu might come out to be cheaper per ounce since they sell such massive bottles.

Aww 😀 Thank you! Yes, I LOVE shu!!!! I adore Bioderma Sensibio Micellar Water & La Roche Posay Dermo Toleriane fluid lotion, but they just remove, this oil is LOADED with SKIN PERFECTERS! I’m blown away by how it both gently cleanses yet skin remains balanced WITH extra benefits that totally make me feel pampered and it seems to improve skin with each use! I got the smaller size, but I am certain that I will take advantage of the generous size & good value of the large bottle next time.
