CORALS! ALL THE TIME! I love dewy, luminous skin with soft color and a pearly sheen, paired with metallic eyes and teal eyeliner–then coral lips!

A sweet coral blush like MAC Ripe for Love or Benefit Coralista is a must. I’d love Electric Grandma on the lips, and then just little brown liner and mascara on the eyes.

Right now I’m obsessed with Bobbi Brown’s Pot Rouge for Lips & Cheeks in Calypso Coral. Perfect for spring and summer!

I love going for a light and fresh look on the face that makes me look glowing. I definitely go for bold lips and big lashes a lot in the warmer months. It’s what I tend to gravitate towards the most. I really love warm pinks and corals on my lips; if I’m not doing a full on, opaque bold lip then I like to go for stains or sheer brights. I tend to go for creamy or glossy lip looks over super matte. I live for my warm toned summer blushes like Gina, Taj Mahal, and Luster. If I end up doing eye shadow, I tend to use a lot of bronzes, golds, oranges, and corals, or I’ll use something like Tan Pigment on the lid with Teal Pigment on the lower lash line.

I tend to be a kind of ‘wear it all, whenever’ sort of person, colours wise, but one thing I really do like busting out in the summer is more lipgloss! Of course, we’re heading in to winter here, so I’m looking forward to having even more justification for my vampy purples and plums! 😉

My favorite look is , red lips, strong brows and my hair in a bun (I hate doing my hair lol) I manage to keep my makeup lighter than I would in the winter though and of course a must have is my mac translucent powder or mineralize skin finish!

For the summer I do not like to wear dewy makeup because I get dewy on my own from the heat.

Because of my summer wardrobe I sometimes wear eye shadow & liners in shades of turquoise, aqua, teal & greens.

I love wearing blush and lips in shades of peach and corals.

if I am NOT wearing my usual shades of red on my nails I love wearing teal nail polish and occasionally nude peach.

I pick up a fair amount of color in the summer, and I love to put luminizer over my tanned cheekbones, forehead and collarbones: Nars, Hourglass and Buxom all have lovely ones. I just add curling black mascara and a bright, glossy lip. I really want try the stained glass lip tars this summer 🙂

Glowy, illuminated skin, a little bit of bronzer, strong brows and simple shimmmery eyes (gold or champagne, usually), waterproof mascara, a lick of long last black liner, coral blush and vivid lips.

Pair with sunscreen, enormous sunglasses,a fabulous hat, funky kaftan and aqua or metallic orange toenails.

It’s autumn here in the Southern Hemisphere and currently persisting down with rain where I am… LURVE summer right now!

I love wearing golden and coral shades on my face! MAC See Sheer lipstick paired with a nice golden eye look and I’m good to go!

Less is more for me in the summer, so I enjoy usually using a universally applicable product on my face from a shimmery grapefruit/coral pink/warm sheen blush that I give myself a fresh glow with, and if Im in a hurry, it goes on my eyes with just mascara, otherwise with liner or just underneath bottom lashes along with copper, mints, bright teals, pastel blues, or light lilacs and champagnes for lid color with a deep navy liner, or just a bold bright strip of one of those colors and black right & water line. If my eyes are intense. I neutralize with a beige lip and glimmery pink golden gloss, and if my eyes are more soft, I deepen the berry color of my lips with and it just looks fresh and natural, luminous and healthy; radiant! When I get glasses, I’m not sure how this will work. I can imagine you rocking corals and teal all the time! What a shocker, Christine! 😉 Enjoy the beautiful day! 🙂 <3 Lotus xo

Dewier lively looking skin. My current obsession is NARS TM as a base with Jane Iredale pressed minerals foundation on areas where I need a bit more help to cover red.

Warmer cheeks. I put down a base contour lightly blended into cheekbones with a bronzer or a brown based cream cheek product (NARS Altai or Chanel Cheeky) and then top with a hit of a brighter blush. It tones down the intensity of the bright without losing the impact or giving that fevered cheek look that can happen with my lighter skintones.

Simple eyes. I tend to wear lid to brow gradient washes with a bit of eyeliner. I like cream eyeshadows in the heat, strangely enough, in both matte and metallic finishes. NARS smudgeproof can add insurance if needed. Waterproof mascara if I absolutely need it to beat the heat.

Nude lips. Spring I prefer to wear bold lips, summer I gravitate more to nude since I am usually only wearing a lip balm or gloss.

I usually come into summer with some “look” from one of the collections: “THIS is my summer look! I’m so excited!” And then every single year, by July, I’m using Bobbi Brown’s Maui because it’s foolproof (blush/bronzer hybrid) and wears beautifully in my hot, humid city. I’ll put a long wear champagne-y cream shadow on the brow bone (BB’s Beach Honey or Sandy Gold are good, but it doesn’t really matter) and a bright pinky-coral gloss. But really the Maui is the key. It goes with just about any other cosmetic with a warmish tone and it’s fun with bright lips. I’m doing this whole cool red cream blush/lip “Snow White” thing right now and I’ve already gotten my Maui out—why fight the inevitable?

Ugh, just a nice fresh base with plenty of skin showing through, selective concealer, nice lashes, and a bit of copper/antique gold-y eyeshadow buffed in with some Burberry Pale Barley eyeshadow, eyeliner and a nice natural lip (coral-y or plummy), all pretty, polished and glowy!

Lisa Avatar

Bright lipstick all the way! I especially love pinks, fuschia, or orangey reds. Some favorites that come to mind are UD Anarchy, UD Cat fight, OCC Pretty Boy, and Revlon Fire and Ice.

Andie Avatar

I love the look of luminous skin! Unfortunately I’ve been breaking out really badly lately, and I feel like the “dewy” look really emphasizes the bumps. Any suggestions Christine?

Gaby Avatar

Hi Andie,
Well,I’m not Christine, but I suggest to keep the whole face matte and accentuate your cheekbones with a highlighter. So you can have a luminous glow on your skin without emphasizing the bumps because the rest of your face is matte. I don’t know in which area of your face the bumps are but if the cheek area isn’t affected I would try this.

Super bronze-y, with lots of peachy pinks, teals and blues. I actually did teal eyeliner and coral lips just yesterday! Summer makeup collections are my FAVORITE by far.

yellowlantern Avatar

For me summer is about focusing on really nice skin. I like to focus on nice powders that give me that velvet matte look when worn on top of sunscreen, pairing it with brownish or bronze-y blush (mostly I like NARS Madly or Chanel Rose Bronze) and then topping it with a little golden-hued highlighter. I tend not to wear much eye make up in summer at all since in the humidity it all tends to smear on me. I don’t really have any seasonal preferences when it comes to lips.

Everyone has such awesome ideas for summer looks. I have been on the hunt now for the right foundation again, as my skin changed 🙁 But otherwise I usually use a Soft brown eyeshadow, black smudged liner, and lots of mascara. A more orange/reddish blush, or just bronzer. Throw on one of my favorite bright shades of lipstick and call it a day. (either MAC Vegas Volt, or Maybelline Hot Plum) I’m on the medium olive tan side… so more shimmer more better 🙂

Summer’s when I break out my tube of MAC Impassioned. It’s quite bright for my sort of subdued style and a bit more coral than my natural inclination but it’s great for summer, which is when I also like a bit of glimmer on my cheeks so out comes MAC’s LE (I think) By Candlelight which I’ll use on its own or over top a blush.

kellly Avatar

I really get into shiny eyelids in the summer. I still haven’t found anything that will give me shine (like Vaseline) without smearing off everything else and feeling heavy and too hot, but I love the look of shiny lids in the summer. I’m going for bright lips to add some color since I’m not having much color on my eyes.

i love colors like occ’s stained gloss in new wave and mac lickable. briiight and neon pinks. i got lickable because i told the girl at mac i wanted to look like i just ate a popsicle 🙂
i also love mac crosswires- i actually saw that here, so thanks for that, christine!

this summer i am going to try bronzer from the alluring aquatic collection. i was afraid of looking snooki-ish, but i was taught how to apply it correctly, so we will see how it goes when i order it!

Lips: YSL Lingerie Pink or the new maybelline lip elixir in breathtaking apricot

Cheeks: mac warm soul, because the heat keeps my cheeks flushed

Eyes: mac Swiss chocolate on the lids with soft brown in the crease and brûlée on the brow bone. Smoky eyes in the humid Florida heat is awesome because it just just gets sexier and sexier as the day wears on.

Face: meh, I’ve been using loreal Lumi true match and it’s ok. Still looking for a lightweight yet high coverage foundation for summer.

I skip the concealer and eyeliner, normally. It’s just too moist and hot.

I love shimmery bronze eyes and luminous skin during the day! And for nights I love deep chocolate smokey eyes with some gold shimmer. Glow baby glow!

I feel a bit boring after reading what everyone is doing. I tend to do what I do all year round, decide in the morning what I feel like and go with that. Today I have Illamasqua Fatale palette, black liner and mascara. Nars Orgasm blush and a pinky coral shiny lipstick.
My skin get oily during the day, I use a lot of blotting papers, so I always use a matte foundation, highlightning with Mac Strobe or my Illamasqua higlighter.
Yesterday I wore MAC All That Glitters, Cork and Brulée and Illamasqua blush in Hussy.
Short answer is I don’t have a favourite look.

If I get to spend any time outside I get quite tanned, so honey bronzes it is! Shimmery bronze or honey eyeshadows, gold, brown or maybe a bit of teal liner(for a special night out), a peachy apricot blush if I’m going out. Sheer bright juicy lips, usually a tinted gloss or balm that I can throw in my pocket. I grew up on Georgian Bay so the beachy tanned look was where it was at – something that’s always going to signify summer for me. Anything that makes me think sun & sand 🙂
