This week’s Mellan photo/video…
So soft!!
Haul: Too Faced Liquid Lipstick in Melted Ruby, Sephora Eccentric Diva, Maybelline Nude Compliment (all 3 of these are 100% the fault of THIS site!), CoverFX Primer with SPF 30. It is so excellent that I won’t be replacing my Hourglass primer when I finish the 2 bottles I have.
Weekend plans: regular yoga class at noon tomorrow, yoga “Challenge Party” tomorrow night (for all who took part in this 30-day challenge); a fund raiser tea on Sunday (I’m taking my mother in law as it’s something she enjoyed last year) and, beyond that, just taking it easy.
Film that reminds me of my childhood: The Wizard of Oz. I was a child in the days before videos, DVDs, etc. and so the only way to see this was once a year when it would be televised and I was allowed to stay up later than usual to watch it.
So glad you got Eccentric Diva! Am curious to hear how Melted Ruby performs for you.
It’s rather brightly alarming. I actually apply it lightly and let it “stain” for a while and then wipe it off with a dry makeup wipe (I keep them and wash them in a lingerie bag and re-use them – so much nicer than Kleenex) anyway, after a few minutes, I wipe off the excess and then put a clear gloss on top. It really works and the “stain” lasts pretty much the whole day. The gloss makes it look a bit less “rubbed off” and dry, if that makes any sense. As for Electric Diva – it is really stunning!
Yes, I totally get it! To make a lipstick more “stain” like, I always like to add a little balm or gloss – that added slip just helps it… work better 😀
Mellan could get away with murder if he gave me those puppy eyes!!!
■Haul: A couple of flowy skirts from H&M.
■Weekend plans: Moving…TEH DREAD! D:
■What movie reminds you of your childhood?: Cinderella too. No evil stepmother/sister, just an old school grandmother teaching me how to be a “good housewife” a.k.a. free labor a.k.a. slavery! On the bright side, I can wash clothes by hand and iron pretty well! And I cook like a boss. SO thanks, grandma! (sort of.)
You know, knowing how to cook well is an underrated skill, because someone has to cook, LOL! Shaun does most of the cooking here, because by default, SOMEONE has to step up to the plate. So, I work 12-16 hours a day and get out of it instead 😉
Hahahaha! Sounds like an ideal situation! I don’t cook often either. My grandmother always cooked large quantities and now so do I, so I rarely cook because I am incapable of cooking for one! I am, however, the one who does all the cooking for the holidays and I go all out! My family loves it because that means they don’t have to deal with it 😀
Haul: Some eyeshadows and Intertubes from Shiro Cosmetics.
Weekend plans: I might go out for food, but my eyes have been suffering from what seems to be an allergic reaction, so I’m not 100% sure about this yet.
What movie reminds you of your childhood?: Home Alone.
Oooh, I hope your eyes feel better!!
Thank you! They feel a little better today, but the skin around my eyes are very dry as a result of being marinated in my tears and from all the rubbing I did trying to dry them out.
I’m holding back the urge to exfoliate because they’re also very sensitive at the moment. I think I have a newfound respect in regards to people who deal with seasonal allergies.
I used to have really bad seasonal allergies when I was younger, so I totally feel for you!
Try getting a prescription allergy eye drop. My husband gets horrible, puffy eyes in early spring and uses it to help clear it up. I think it’s called Pataday…
Aw, look at that cute face… 🙂 *virtual pat*
Haul: Lotsa MAC goodies!
Weekend plans: Unfortunately work.
What movie reminds you of your childhood?: Pretty much all Disney movies. And Home Alone 🙂 Oh, and Back To The Future.
Hope work passes quickly for you!

Weekend plans: Hanging out with some girlfriends tomorrow. Probably working on blog posts on Sunday 🙂
What movie reminds you of your childhood?: I watched quite some Disney features when I was a kid, but Cinderella is probably also my favorite! A little less scary than Aurora. Didn't like Maleficent that much 😉

Relax Sat and see The Other Woman on Sun. with hubby.
Cinderella.
Oh my goodness, Rowdy got to it? Aww!!
I got a Milani mascara, ELF primer, two WNW creme eyeliners for my kit. For myself, Hautelook was selling a pair of wolf sneakers from Jeffrey Campbell that I’ve been wanting for over a year for $25 (plus shipping and tax), so I hopped on it. I need a second pair of shoes (well, I do have a second – my JC Litas but they’re tiger print and don’t go with everything lol) that I can wear regularly since my black boots are gonna get worn down to death if I just keep using those every single day.
For plans, I’m being the MUA for the weekend! My friend’s in town for ReAsonCon (Humanist/Atheist convention conference thingy) and she asked me to do her makeup and her friend’s makeup for exchange for tickets to the event and the VIP dinner… which is a $100 ticket lol I don’t know about the event itself, but the dinner is very expensive! So I did that yesterday, today, and tomorrow will be the main event! I also want to get a video up!
$25 – that’s a steal!
RIGHT? I happily swore for about five minutes. I just hope they fit. I’m scared of ordering shoes online.
Good luck!!

Weekend plans: More sewing and babying this cold I picked up.

Weekend plans: My father is making a short visit! Dinner with him Saturday. Otherwise my only current idea is to get a haircut. I wake up looking like I was headbanging. Or Joey Ramone.
What movie reminds you of your childhood?: The Addams Family. After the movie version came out, friends and classmates started calling me Wednesday. I was 8. My hair was long, straight and dark. I was pale. I’m certain it was likely meant to tease but if I watch the movie now, it reminds me of accepting myself when I was young. A nice reminder!
Love Tweezerman tweezers!
I’m officially on a no buy and closed out last month by spending $100 at the Shiro Cosmetics sale, Wednesday. I’ll hopefully have hauls to show soon.
Good luck on your no-buy, Angie!
Haul: NARS Tropical Princess, Lost Coast, Malacca, & Bavaria-I took advantage of the free 2-day shipping, and for some reason, I wasn’t charged sales tax!
Plans: Going to Downtown L.A./Union Station tomorrow for “Train Day”; my daughter loves trains, ad if we have time, head over to China Town or Little Tokyo. Out of the blue, my daughter has developed a strong interest in Asian cultures, so we’re trying to expose her to as much as we can.
Movie: “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”, and not in a good way… I went to a year-round school in 3rd & 4th grades, and during the 3-week intersession periods, it seemed we went on a field trip every week to see that film. It was walking distance, and only $1, so that’s likely why we went to that, but I would have rather stayed at school…
Can you watch that movie now without cringing?

Your dog looks fake, but in a good way. Like a really nice stuffed animal. He’s just so flawless and beautiful!! How old is he?
LOL! I was like, “NOOOO, he’s not fake, I swear!” 😉
He will be 7 years old this Christmas Eve! He has the softest ears–the rest of him is fairly soft, but his ears are like velvet.

Got MAC’s Ocean city blush in the mail, haven’t tried it yet but I like the pretty case.Picked up Maybelline Fit shine free foundation stick it looked good on the model in Essence magazine, I rarely wear foundation this blends in well with light to medium coverage, not bad so far.

s
Happy to hear you’re loving Defiant Coral!

Loving all the cool-coned neutrals!) Lastly, Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream in #21. The Internet seems split on whether 13 or 21 is a better match for an N15, so I went with the slightly darker shade to be on the safe side. You can always lighten a darker foundation, after all. 😛

What movie reminds you of your childhood?: The Lion King! :3
Have fun in Florida! Safe drive!

Weekend plans: Getting a new car as a graduation present from my Master’s in Social Work program! My parents are helping me out with it, and I am so, so, so grateful. What movie reminds you of your childhood?: Milo & Otis. I was allowed to watch one movie, or two tv shows a day growing up, and I chose that one like every day for a year!

Congratulations on graduating!
Sheesh – I am *not* really an animal person, but Mellan just warms my heart. <3
Haul: A couple of the Revlon Matte Balms!!
Weekend plans: Thesis 🙁
What movie reminds you of your childhood?: Aladdin, hands down. I love that movie so much, I can probably literally sit here and recite the entire script, no joke.
I love Aladdin a lot more as an adult than I did as a kid! There’s a classic Disney movie that is still great to watch as an adult.
