Maybelline Just Pinched Pink (10) Master Glaze Glisten Blush Stick Review, Photos, Swatches
Maybelline Just Pinched Pink (10) Master Glaze Glisten Blush Stick
Maybelline Just Pinched Pink (10) Master Glaze Glisten Blush Stick ($8.99 for 0.24 oz.) is a medium, rosy pink with soft, warm undertones and a luminous sheen. Tarina Tarantino Parasol (P, $25.00) is more shimmery, powder. Chanel Revelation (63) (P, $38.00) is lighter. theBalm Houndstooth (P, $22.00) is slightly darker, powder. See comparison swatches.
The Master Glaze formula is supposed to give cheeks a “dewy and gently glazed” look with “the sheerest color.” The texture is moderately creamy, so it glides across the skin easily, but it can sometimes feel a little oily on the skin. It never fully dries down, so there’s dewy sheen that straddles the line between luminous and oily. You can minimize some of the oiliness (and also prolong the wear) by applying translucent setting or finishing powder on top. The color coverage was more buildable than it was “the sheerest color,” though it can easily be worn as a sheer pop of rosy pink as it is very blendable, and the color wore well for six hours before there was noticeable fading. It doesn’t build up to truly opaque color, though, as it takes a fairly thick layer to do so, which just doesn’t wear or feel right as a blush (very slippery and seems to look patchy within an hour).

I really like this, it looks quite highly pigmented as well but disappointing that it doesn’t last that long though.
I wish it was more buildable!
I’ve read several really negative reviews of this one, but your swatches (which I rely on more than any others!) look pretty good. I love the color, and after trying one of rhe LE shades, I’m fond of the formula, so this will find its way home with me. At least it’s permanent, so I’ll probably wait for some type of sale.
The short wear time is annoying, but otherwise, they seem to be OK! For me, the wear is a deal-breaker, though.
I’m looking for a non-powder formula for Summer, when I have to reapply sunscreen several times a day, so the wear-time isn’t necessarily a bad thing for my purposes. I was planning to go with my Multiples, but I like the less expensive option, since I plan to use it more often. Also, if I’m out, I won’t feel as bad if I lose it, LOL!
Most of the negativity has been about it being too “oily looking”, and not pigmented enough, so I was expecting it too be more of a highlighter. However, I think this may be just enough color for everyday looks.
I had a similar idea, and was thinking this would be great for the beach, picnics, pool, etc. Like you said, you’ll be reapplying sunscreen and could touch up then anyway. Also I’d be in tears if I took a NARS multiple and lost it, got sand in it, etc but with this, oh well, lots more at the drugstore and I probably have CVS extra bucks too! lol
I wish they would put out a true peachy color…I have the Coral Sheen one and it’s still way more pink than I’d prefer.
Maybe they will in the summer!
What’s on your left cheek?
Maybelline Pink Fever.
This one looks very pretty on you! These blush sticks turned out to be prettier than I was expecting. I just wish they wore a little better.
Me too – the short wear time is a deal-breaker!
I love the color, very feminine. I’m actually ok with my blushes fading a bit in time since I have a lot of redness that tends to pick through my foundation at the end of the day anyway. I will probably end up picking this one up if I find it on sale.
I’m sure you’ll be able to find it on sale sometime, Judith!
this is lovely! how do these measure up to the Tarte cheek stains in terms of wearability?
Wearability as in how long they wear or the kind of color? Tarte Cheek Stains are better from what I remember, but it’s been awhile since I’ve tested any.
more in how they wore. i love the Tarte stains, but at $30 a piece, they get pricey fast.
I like the shade but I think this will tend to look more oily than dewy on me though!
Aww, bummer!
I adore that whole look on you! That is so pigmented it’s crazy!
Thanks, Erin!
It’s a pretty colour! Pretty much alike to everything else out on the market, so if I did like Maybelline products, I’d probably just skip on this anyway.
Maybe another shade 😉
It’s a really pretty color, but I feel like I can see the oiliness.
It’s definitely a dewy product!
I’m not sure what it is about this shade but it blends into my skin tone till it’s barely there for some reason when I sheer it out. lol It reads very nude on me at that level.
I do love the Coral Sheen and Pink Fever shades, as when I sheer it down to my level it still there on my pale skin. 😉
It’s one of those shades that can sheer out really quickly!
Looks like a pretty color! I have yet to try out the Master Glaze blushes.
They’re pretty, but I wish they were longer-wearing!
the blush does’t do it for me, but your picture makes me happy i found snow peach at the store last week! it reminded me i need to get it out and wear it! it’s still in the package at the bottom of my purse! oops.
So glad you got Snow Peach! Now rock it 😉
Oh eep, it never completely dries? That’s not good then. My skin is oily, so if put something on it that never dries it would all just feel waaay to sticky and icky.
Yup! It’s one of those cream blushes – always a little wet.
This is a really, really lovely colour on you, Christine! I’m not sure about the ‘glaze’ thing though… I feel like I would always be using the translucent powder, thereby defeating the purpose of this blush :-P. It is very pretty, though.
With a lil’ translucent powder, you can take down some of the shine but not all of it, but I don’t know if it’s a step that one should need to take!
Been enjoying the ‘Plums Up’ Master Glaze, and based on what I see here, I’ll love this one!! Thank you so much for such wonderfully comprehensive reviews!
No problem, Paula! xo
The color is really soft and romantic on you Christine. And Revlon Snow Peach looks fantastic with the cheek color!
Thank ya, Ankita!
Such a fresh, pretty color. Totally would be interested in these, if it were animal testing free
Hopefully you can find a dupe that works for you!
The shade looks very natural on you! 🙂 But I am afraid that it would be too lighter on my skin.
Thanks, Lancy!
This shade looks beautiful on you and in the packaging!
Aw, thanks Abby!
Looks great on you! I have super dry skin, do you think it’d work for me? I’ve heard that it’s not very hydrating?
I wouldn’t say it’s hydrating!
