Zoya Dream, Mosheen, Payton Nail Lacquers Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Zoya Dream Nail Lacquer
Zoya Dream Nail Lacquer ($8.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “deep space blue halo.” It’s a brightened, medium-dark blue with an assortment of sparkle and shimmer, both in color and in size. The consistency is not quite watery, but it’s thinner, and with two coats, I still had some visible nail line. Sometimes I noticed it, other times it seemed opaque, but it depended on the lighting and angle. I didn’t have any blue nail lacquers that were similar, because the composition of the shimmer/sparkle in Dream was missing from other blues I’ve reviewed previously.
Mosheen Nail Lacquer ($8.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as an “astro ice blue topper.” It’s an iridescent layering top coat filled with bar glitter that goes from blue to green to pink, bits of copper, purple, and blue sparkle. This is described as a layering product, so while it can be worn however you like, it is designed to be applied over your favorite polish. For swatches, I layered it over Dream. It had good layering coverage in one coat (which is what I applied over Dream), and it has a cool look when applied as two coats by itself. It appears very wintry, because it has a very light coloring when applied on the nail alone. It goes on mostly even but you may need to push a few bits into place. Not a dupe really, but Zoya Maisie has a shifting flake glitter in it, which did remind me of this, but it is definitely more dominantly green-to-blue shift. Zoya Electra has larger bar glitter, and the bar glitter tends to look silver half the time.
Payton Nail Lacquer ($8.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “galactic cranberry halo.” It’s a rich, deep eggplant purple with cool, berry-pink undertones, and a mix of cranberry, copper, and violet shimmer and sparkle. After two coats, it was mostly opaque and appeared nearly full coverage most of the time, but when I held my nails away, you could see that it wasn’t fully opaque. The consistency was similar to Dream, so it was thinner and not quite watery, but a part of me wanted to call it watery. It applied evenly and easily, and it had a soft shine to its natural dry down. Urban Decay Vice is similar in color but lacks the sparkle and slight shift. Chanel Taboo is darker, purpler, less sparkly. See comparison swatches.
I typically get a week of wear out of Zoya’s formula with minor tip wear but no chipping. These shades will debut October 1st! 🙂

Peyton is so pretty! Debating with myself whether it’s different enough from Taboo to pick it up!
I think the sparkle makes it fairly different! 🙂
I do think they’re definitely different, most a function of is it a color I’d wear often enough to justify having two similar ones 🙂
Totally LOVE Payton!
It’s so pretty!
I am definitely picking up Payton!
Woo! Hope you love it!
Dream and Payton are both so pretty! Visible nail line drives me crazy though, so I’d probably have to put down an opaque base coat first to make them look less translucent.
I hear ya – as long as I don’t see it say 90% of the time, I’m okay. You could probably get away with three coats with this formula, though!
Simply stunning !
I think Dream and Payton are meant to have a jelly finish ?
Thank you for sharing <3 I love these, may check them out in store !
My pleasure, Polly! xo
I LOVE your description of Payton, and seeing it on shows how beautiful it is.
I knew I would have to get Mosheen since sparkly topcoats draw me like a moth to the flame. I also like how Dream has “an assortment of sparkle and shimmer, both in color and in size”, it looks gorgeous in the bottle but a bit light on the nail to truly look like “deep space”. Anyway, these will all be great for the upcoming holiday season!
I still don’t know what a “holo” is can someone please enlighten me?
I think these are “halo,” which I don’t really know what that translates to, but holo is short of holographic, so it’s like a rainbow effect – you’ll see the color shift from red to orange to green to blue etc. They might have meant holographic, or maybe halo is a holographic effect in a circular shape? The finish is definitely similar to shades like Blaze, which are listed as holographics on Zoya’s site.
Oops I meant “halo” not holo. I LOVE holo’s! That’s why I’m confused. Hmmm, they don’t look like holo’s, do you see a halo effect in them that doesn’t translate in the photos?
I think there might be very, very fine holographic micro-shimmer in the background, but the larger sparkles don’t give off a holographic effect to me!
These are scattered holos which means there are holographic particles but the finish isn’t like the linear holos we see from collections such as Color Club Halo Hues.
Thanks Sandrine, does that mean the the glitter itself is holo, and they are calling the effect halo? I’m still a little confused.
The finishes of Dream & Payton remind me of two Zoya polishes from last Xmas, Aurora & Blaze. I own those & want these too!
I can totally see them being similar – especially in the finish!
Oooh, I love Payton! I prefer glittery polish over plain because I feel like I need a bit of glitter in my life!
Always room for glitter 🙂
I LOVE Zoya polish!!! I was at Ulta today with my daughter and they had the new display behind the register for some reason but it looked so, so pretty. Obviously I will be going back and getting some of these. This is, without a doubt, my favorite nail polish!!!
What are your top must-haves from Zoya, Terri?
Blaze from last year Holiday collection and almost ALL of the pixies. Really, I haven’t seen much I don’t like!!
Ooh the first Zoya nail polishes that I’ve really been interested in, Dream & Payton will be mine!
Love the combo of Mosheen and Dream. So much shimmer/holo overload!
Wow…a polish hasn’t stopped me dead in my tracks like Payton in a LONG time!
Dream and Payton both look gorgeous, but I only need Payton for myself (not really into blue nail polish, except for very dark blue, if they did dark blue with the holo glitter in these, I would faint on the spot lol)). And I thought I got past the nail polish craving :-s Thank you for the swatches and reviews!
My pleasure, Andreea!
