Chanel Seduction (42) Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quad ($59.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a mix of burgundy, beige, rose gold, and brown. It’s a really nice palette of wearable shades, and the quality is good overall. I think Chanel fans will be pleased, and any one who tends to find pigmentation lacking in them will find this a surprise. The texture is incredibly soft and finely-milled, and as a result, some shades can feel almost powdery as the powder loosens from the solid pan very easily. It doesn’t look powdery on the skin, and of course, that ultra soft texture means these blend like a dream. Luckily, that softness didn’t mean that the shades sheered out when applied/blended, and it didn’t result in shorter wear. I wore all four shades yesterday, and they lasted eight hours without fading or creasing (no primer).

Seduction #1 is a medium-dark, reddened burgundy with a soft, frosted finish. It had good color payoff, and the texture was soft and finely-milled. MAC Festive Delight is less shimmery. MAC Cranberry is very similar. MAC Brazenly is darker. is darker. See comparison swatches.

Seduction #2 is a pale, gray-tinged beige with a pearly sheen. It had good color payoff, and the texture was soft, smooth, and silky, though a little powdery. MAC Winterscape is cooler-toned. MAC Star Crystal is pinker. MAC Creamy Bisque is less frosted. MAC Her Cocoa #1 is lighter. See comparison swatches.

Seduction #3 is a medium-dark, pinky-brown with a hint of peach. It reminded me of rose gold but darker and not as metallic. The finish was more like a satin. It had excellent color payoff, and the texture was incredibly soft and silky. MAC Pink Pepper is more sparkly. MAC Caribbean is darker, redder. MAC Expensive Pink is more golden. See comparison swatches.

Seduction #4 is a deepened brown with subtle bronze and copper shimmer with a satin finish. It had subtle warm undertones, great pigmentation, and a soft, finely-milled texture. MAC Constructivist is a cream product. Urban Decay Bewitch is lighter. MAC Life’s Luxury is a cream product. Milani Rich Java is similar. MAC Carbonized is darker. Guerlain Turandot #4 is a touch lighter. See comparison swatches.

Isn’t it interesting that this quad is a great one? I think Chanel makes good quads only once in a while, they mostly lack pigmentation! Though I love the brand and have few items from it, I still can’t lean towards the quads cause they seem mostly disappointing to me.

Hey there, I was just wondering what is your favorite Chanel products? I have been dying to try a couple, but since they are so pricey I want to know whats worth buying 🙂 I am looking to buy a quad or a blush. Also maybe a lipstick! 🙂

Hi Lizz!

I like their glosses, lipsticks (except the really matte one – doesn’t work for me but others love it!) would be most consistent. Some of their eyeshadow palettes and singles are great, some aren’t! Blush is usually nice as well!

I absolutely love this but I’m going to save my cash for the holiday one. I think it’s called Charming and collection is called Nuit Infinie. The preview pictures I’ve seen are amazing!

A bit too red-toned for me and the 2 colours I do like and can wear (#2 and 4) are so similar to many shadows I already own. A relief, really, in terms of the amount of “stuff” I’ve bought recently.

Gorgeous! Unfortunately, I can dupe every single shade in the palette out of my own collection 🙁 I love Chanel cosmetics and may get this just to have it. I missed the bus on the Turandot palette and I’m still sick about it. It is nice to have the shades all together in one place for convenience, and for Fall 2013…I think this palette is a must have.

I have one Chanel quad. I feel like I should love it, but I rarely reach for it. I think I’ve only used it about 4 times since I got it last December. This one is quite pretty, though. I really love the one you labeled #3.

I’d already purchased the Chanel Le Volume in Khaki Bronze (which I love, and wore with the BareMinerals waterproof topcoat, although I didn’t cry!), so I purchased the matching eyeliner (Stylo Waterproof in Khaki Precieux) and the Stylo Waterproof in Beryl for the inner rim.

A friend from when I used to work in cosmetics at a department store is now the Chanel counter manager, so she always hooks me up.

I have this quad and I love it, the best thing I’ve learned from chanel is all of the shadows can be used wet or dry, the burgundy shade is beautiful applied wet:)

So sad I missed out on this palette 🙁 How did I not see it when shopping?!? These shades are some of my favorites, especially the beautiful burgundy color.
