Bobbi Brown Berry Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
Bobbi Brown Berry Blush
Bobbi Brown Berry Blush ($26.00 for 0.13 oz.) is described as a “muted berry.” It’s a bold, medium-dark berry pink with a nearly matte finish. MAC Keep It Casual is warmer, cream. Chanel Rouge is slightly more shimmery and not as cool-toned. See comparison swatches.
It’s new, and limited edition, for fall from Bobbi Brown’s Rich Chocolate collection, due out officially this September, but I’m sure we’ll see it popping up sooner rather than later (Nordstrom has it online now but won’t ship until 8/24). Berry is an intensely pigmented shade, and it’s definitely not for anyone looking for subtle, easy-going color! If you’re very, very fair, you’ll want to use an incredibly light and airy hand with a feathery brush. This is going to sing beautifully on deeper complexions. The more the color is blended and buffed into the skin, the pinker and more berry-hued it becomes. I haven’t had the best luck with Bobbi Brown’s blushes recently, but this is a winner–it’s soft, finely-milled (and there’s a teeny, tiny powderiness but it’s likely what keeps this blendable!), and still fairly easy to blend and soften. It wears really well, too, and it lasted nine hours on me without fading.

I just love the look of berry coloured blushes in pan. There seems to be a fair number of berry shades in the new Marc Jacobs collection as well and I’ll be checking those out. This looks like it might be a bit tricky for my light skin as it hovers on patchy on yours Christine. A gorgeous berry blush is on my must have list for this fall, but perhaps a more muted one than this. Stunning colour!
I love the colour of this blush but a little scared of how intense it can look. I know that i will wind up using too much.
It’s funny I never thought to look into Bobbi Brown cosmetics. I have always viewed them as well as Estee Lauder ( although I now own a blush from them and have used their Double Wear foundation, which I enjoy) as mature brands. This simply because their marketing tactics are different from most makeup brands which usually gear their makeup towards teens to the 40s crowd ( I am 20 in case anyone was wondering lol), Anyway I think I might look into this product 🙂
I just bought Buxom’s blush in Shangri-La-La and it goes on the same color as this. I love deep berry blushes, they’re perfect for Fall. Now I’m on the hunt for one that has more purple in it instead of so much red but that has proved to be extremely challenging.
Try Tarte’s Blushing Bride (the powder, not the cheek stain!)
If you can still find it (it was on clearance everywhere for a while…), Urban Decay’s cream blush in Greedy is a very deep berry with more of a cool, blue tone. I love the color, but I’ve been looking for a powder dupe since I’m not crazy about the staying power of cream on me. Let me know if you find a good one!
MAC Blush in Dirty Plum is pretty darn close to what I want but it’s a Pro shade. Also, Make Up For Ever has blushes that are also marketed as eyeshadows (so if you use a big fluffy brush and a slightly lighter hand you’ll get a good blush effect). Their powder blush in Lavender 9 looks like an interesting color, their powder bush in Dark Raspberry 58 looks gorgeous and perfect for fall, and then their regular blush in number 12 looks much lighter but still appears to have those bluer undertones and might end up being a better everyday type blush..
I plan on going to Sephora to swatch them all and see what I like. I hope that helped some!
How does this compare to NARS Powder Blush in Seduction, Christine? 🙂
Seduction is browner – almost warmer! http://www.temptalia.com/nars-seduction-blush-review-photos-swatches
I love berry-toned blush but this looks a whole lot too deep and “flushed” looking for me to carry off (pale skin). I’d look like I’d been slapped in the face or was running a seriously high fever!
This looks just like MAC’s “Fever” to me.
Wow it’s dark! I’d probably multi-use this and use it as eyeshadow as well 🙂
Love this shade! It looks like a great autumn blush.
As a heavy handed NC 15 I doubt it’s the color for me. But I can still lust after it, right?
I think this blush would look gorgeous on darker skin tones. Definitely something I could see myself in for Autumn.
Oh my! Thanks Christine 🙂 I need this, really need this!
Gorgeous on you. Nearly have me convinced to try berry, even though I am about 18 shades lighter than milk.
I could never wear this! It’s so dark and pigmented!
Nice blend of red and berry… reminds me of the winter holiday season
It may be hard to resist this one. It’s unique and I’m a sucker for unique.
I do love the red in case..but on face it’s towards to plum-pink….not unique as I got Chanel Rouge..Rouge is much more prettier .
I’ll pass on this.
I want this, but I want to use it as and eyeshadow!
perfect for dark skin! love!
Love the intensity of this shade. I would be scared at first to use it, but I think it is simply amazing.
