MAC blot powder pressed, it gives me a nice matte finish, I live in florida and humidity is always very high, this one give me more hours of nice finish considering how hard is to keep your makeup fresh in here.

I like the texture of Make Up Forever HD micro finishing powder. I used to use Laura Mercier mineral finishing powder and I switched because MUF is a much finer powder. I have to be careful that I don’t use too much because a little goes a long way!

Not all finishing powders are meant for the same types of complexions. I have dry, mature skin so I look for finishing powders that contain skin soothing and moisturizing properties and that are light-diffusing. My favorite finishes are satin and satin-matte. I love the loose finishing powders by Guerlain, La Mer, Chanel, Chantecaille, and Le Métier de Beauté. If I could only have one powder, though, it would be Perles du Dragon by Guerlain. I assiduously avoid anything that says oil-blotting, shine free, mattifying, etc. as those are meant for younger, oilier complexions.

Thanks for listing them. I like satin and satin matte as well and it’s difficult to find that in a powder. Looks like high end will have what I need.

I am looking for the same things in a powder, but I am limited by allergies. I cannot use cosmetics that are highly fragranced, and the above named lines are usually bad offenders on that count. Can you think of any that are not highly fragranced or fragrance free, but fit your other criteria? It would be very helpful. Thank you.

The best i’ve tried so far is Makeup Forever HD MicroFinish powder. I love it because it is transluscent and works very well for me. Being a Latina I have pretty oily skin and without any powder I end up looking like a grease ball at the end of the day! haha

Chanel! Such a finely milled powder. It keeps my shine at bay yet doesn’t look powdery/dry at all. It also doesn’t take away from the dewy finish from my liquid foundation.

So far, the best I’ve tried was Armani Luminous Silk powder. It’s not marketed as a finishing powder per se, but it’s very lightweight and really does improve the look of my skin/makeup. A little goes a long way and doesn’t settle into fine lines around my eyes.

I try to avoid powders that add “weight” to my makeup because that just leads to my skin getting oilier faster so this one does the trick.

I love Chanel Loose Powder but I like also MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural and Too Faced Poreless Primed Powder…I would try the Youngblood Hi-Definition Hydrating Mineral Powder in Warmt 😉

I LOVE Nars Light Reflecting Powder. I have the pressed version and I think it’s wonderful, but I hear the loose version is even better! It sets my foundation really well and it makes my skin feel really nice and smooth and reduces tiny appearances of pores on me. It’s also really fine and transparent and AWESOME!

I love Physicians Formula Airbrushing Talc Free Pressed Powder with SPF 30. Apply with a soft all over big face brush. It’s nearly a dupe for MAC mineralize skinfinish natural.

Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder. Talc free for my dry skin and I put a lil extra under my eyes to keep my eye makeup from traveling. The best!

I like the new Nars pressed light reflecting powder but I don’t know that I like it any better than my MAC Prep+Prime. I find the pressed versions of both of these so much easier to use but I like the results somewhat better (especially under my eyes, for setting concealer) with the loose powders.

I liked the MAC loose finishing powder, but I also picked up a revlon pressed photo finish powder in translucent which has just the slightest hint of a fine not quite shimmery glow. As I hate a true matte finish, this does the trick for me in a pinch. It’s not as finely milled as I would like though.

I’ve used a lot of different ones, but I think MAC MSFN is the best. It gives a great finish, smoothing the texture of the skin, and extra coverage, which is always a plus. I’ve never really found my HG finishing/setting powder though, because nothing really keeps the oilies at bay for very long, no matter how mattifying it claims to be.

The only powder that doesn’t make my skin feel dry is Chanel. Anything else failed on me, especially the Nars Light Reflecting powder. I’d still love to try Caron powder, and maybe the La Prairie or La Mer one.

Totally agree! I have the Bobbi Brown Retouching Powder in yellow and it’s incredible. It keeps shine at bay longer than my previous fave MUFE HD, gives a beautiful finish and subtly tones down redness <3 I LOVE it!!

I was tempted by the new NARS powder but it looked too glittery for me when I swatched it, but this works perfectly for me. Definitely underrated, it deserves a lot more hype 🙂

I love MUFE HD finishing powder as well, I have dry skin and it doesn’t dry me out. I usually go without finishing powder though. I only use some when I want to wear powder blush

Tarte Amazonian clay finishing powder is AMAZING! I also really enjoy the Rimmel Stay Matte powder as well as the matte powder by Essence Cosmetics.

My favorite finishing powder (HG for me) is bareMinerals READY Touch Up Veil Broad Spectrum SPF 15. I use the translucent one in winter, the tinted version in summer. I have used almost all of the other finishing powders listed by other commenters (eg. MAC, MUFE, Laura Mercier, etc.) and NONE of them keep me matte all day like the bareMinerals one. The only other one that comes close is MAC Blot powder (compact)… but I usually only use that if it is a really long, hot day and my bareMinerals READY Touch Up Veil doesn’t do the job. Then I break out with the MAC Blot. :o)

I am absolutely in love with Chanel’s Loose Powder. I finally found the One finishing powder that does the job: it’s extremely fine and it feels amazing on the skin, does not emphasize pores, it doesn’t leave a white cast on my face when I take pictures, it doesn’t make my complexion look powdery at all and it keeps my oil at bay. I love the most the fact that it sets so well all my other face products which I use when doing my makeup. It’s colorless and it feels like you have no powder on your face at all. I’m only worried if I can finish it on time. I use it twice a day and the quantity is insane! Thank you Chanel for creating such an amazing product! Well worth the money and it’s definitely a HG product for me!

On the other hand I am not in good terms with MUFE HD Powder. I assume that it’s a problem of application from my behalf but I prefer not to be always so careful to apply too much or too little of this powder. This product is way too troublesome. In most pics I look like a ghost. I prefer a product which offers me an easier application and no stress….
