Physicians Formula Warm Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
Physicians Formula Warm Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush
Physicians Formula Warm Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush ($11.99 for 0.24 oz.) is a warm, light-medium coral-pink with a soft, sparkling sheen. MAC Simmer is more intense, darker. Edwared Bess Secret Affair is more orange. theBalm Frat Boy is pinker, less shimmery. NARS Deep Throat is a bit darker. MAC Supercontinental is warmer, less pink. MAC Legendary is lighter. MAC Flaming Chic is less shimmery. Chanel Fleur de Lotus is a bit warmer, brighter.
See comparison swatches.
The formula is supposed to give a “soft iridescence to highlight contour and add radiance to cheeks.” It had good color payoff that was buildable from sheer to semi-opaque but it may get lost on medium-dark to darker complexions. The texture was soft and smooth, and it was easy to blend it on the skin. It had a sparkling finish, so there were a few visible bits of sparkle, but it is rather fine so it didn’t seem to emphasize pores on my skin. It wore well for eight hours when I tested it, and it started to fade just before nine hours of wear. The powder is scented with violet, but I didn’t notice it once applied, only in the pan.
It comes in four shades, and I plan to review Natural as well, but I haven’t tested that one yet. But I did take photos, and between the two, there is not a major difference. If you have cooler undertones, I expect you’ll see a more notable difference, because Natural is warmer with less pink, but on my warmer, medium skin tone, it was hard to tell the difference between the two on (so just a heads up–I will do a full review of Natural once I’ve had a chance to wear it!).

It’s just so cute with the little hearts 🙂
There is not enough pigment for me. It looks like it will be nice on someone with fair warm skin.
It reminds me of my Veronica blush !
I’ve been on a “cruelty free” kick lately and I picked up some Physician Formula products and this was one of them. I have been really liking it and picking it up more often then a lot of my more expensive powders. The packaging is really nice (for a drugstore product) and the hearts are a super cute!
this is such a pretty blush <3
Christine, how does this compare to Chanel’s Malice or Rose Initiale? Would this be somewhere in the middle, but more sparkly? Thanks for your wonderful swatches!
Hi!
I don’t have Chanel Malice I don’t think. Rose Initiale is a lot pinker and not as warm!
Very cute shade! I realized that I tend to overlook Physicians Formula, even though I hear a few bloggers & YouTubers rave over their products.
Their price point has always made me cringe – I know it’s way cheaper than Guerlain, but for whatever reason, I am way more price-sensitive at the drugstore, LOL!
Their green leaf shaped mascara (“Organic wear® 100% Natural Origin Jumbo Lash Mascara”) is one of my favorites of all times! I get compliments on how long my eyelashes look almost every time I wear it. There is another mascara in the exact same packaging, except it’s pink, but that one was atrocious for me–almost all the way dried out when I got it (hopefully it was just a defective one). Anyway, I would highly suggest the green tube mascara! It’s reminds me of what I wish Benefit’s “They’re Real” would’ve been like, and it doesn’t hurt my eyes like They’re Real does.
PF products have been on sale *alot* lately, often around 40% off, at CVS. I usually pick something up when there’s a good sale, or when CVS throws in “Extra Bucks”, and there’s another product in a different brand I planned to pick up anyway, LOL.
Nearly everything I’ve tried by them has been worth that extra little step in price between drugstore and high end. The other DS bands have been creeping in closer, lately, anyway.
Just gotta wait for a sale if it bothers you!
I find so much of what they do REALLY frosty for some reason (just based on what I’ve tried). What are your favorites?
This is one of my new personal faves! Although, I agree. I’ll drop money on high end brands, but when it comes to the drugstore brands, the minute it gets above the $10 mark I’m all sketchy about it. But that’s when I wait for the CVS bucks or coupons. 🙂
This is so pretty! I’ll keep a lookout for it. <3
I’ve never tried this although I’ve heard good things. I like when you review drugstore products! 🙂
I don’t know, I like the packaging and the hearts, but it seems a few dollars too much for me!
I reviewed this product a few months ago. I love it! I love anything with hearts on it. The shades are great for my light skin & red hair. For me, a little goes a long way. I haven’t found it to be too sparkly. Great product for the money, I think.
I can barely discern any difference between your left/right so I wouldn’t pick up both, but they are soft and pretty. Not bad at all! Great price!
Hi Christine,
How does this compare to MAC Flatter Me – the pearlmatte face powder?
Thanks,
Angelica
Flatter Me is warmer, less pink.
It adds super lovely glow to your skin wow.. 🙂
This is so pretty…but I just hate the idea of putting fragrance on my sensitive skin. I would expect better from Physicians Formula–most drugstore brands don’t put fragrance on their blushes.
I can’t handle PF products for two reasons…the tacky (often bulky) packaging and the price. It’s way out of my comfort zone as far as drugstore product prices go lol.
Hello,
I fell in love with this blush when I first heard of it a few years back. Physician’s Formula’s products are great because they have good colour payoff and they never break me out (I have extremely sensitive skin with eczema and probably some slight rosacea). Reading your review makes me want to get this blush all over again! Maybe in Natural or Pink though. 🙂 Thanks for posting!
i own this and i am a medium-dark skin tone and i like it. i just don’t reach for it as much because i like other blushes better.
This color looks fresh and pretty! I have heard good things about Physician’s Formula, I think I will try this blush 🙂 great review!
I have this blush in Natural. I love how quick and effortless it is to apply for a subtle glow. The sparkles are not too big and chunky either.
I like a lot of PF products and I just wait for them to go on sale at the drugstores.
It’s been on sale a lot lately. ^^
