I love the Rêve de Miel Lip Balm by Nuxe! Put it on befor you go to sleep and you have the smoothest lips ever for the next day without putting the balm on again during the day. You need just a tiny bit and it goes a long way. I have my balm since about one and a half year and there is still half of it left in the glass jar. I use it almost every night.

1. Sisely Sisleya Eye and Lip – great for keeping your lip margin in really good shape, plus it’s an amazing product for eyes too.
2. Korres Lip Butter – Jasmine – A great moisturizer with a hint of nude pink as a bonus

3. By Terry – Baume de Rose for lips – Gives lips a pale pink glow and for some reason stays put on me for hours without having to reapply. Good moisturizer..maybe not as good as Korres, but the staying power and lustre on this one I completely love.

I recently discovered Paula’s Choice Lip and Body Treatment balm ($8.76.) It is truly a balm in a container and completely unscented. I decanted into several small plastic containers from WalMart and have them at work and home. It is very thick and you only need a little bit. It seems like I have tried almost everything and had to return most due to me preferring unscented products. I always went back to Vaseline which is not the best for your lips. I ordered the Luscious Lips Duo ($16) last week and it includes the container of balm with a lip exfoliator with micro-beads in a tube. I started using ELF lip exfoliator (lip stick tube) that smells like brown sugar from Target ($3.) a few months ago. I never took the time to exfoliate my lips and wish I had a long time ago. It makes a huge difference.

I really like Clarins Hydra Quench lip balm (the one on the squeeze-y blue tube). It has no SPF but I usually use it at night so it’s not a problem. I have 2 tubes of Fresh (birthday gifts from Sephora) and I like that they have SPF but for the full price, I don’t think they’re that great. If I need something with SPF, I use Carmex but I’m tempted to try Korres, which my daughter uses and loves.

I really love the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy…it’s minty and very moisturizing and soothing. i wear it every night to bed

MAC lip conditioner (in the tube) is a real workhorse. I’ve had the same tube for years and it just never runs out. It saved my lips when they were flaking off from medication. It also works as a long wear lipstick remover. You just smear it on and everything comes off!

I’ve only used one lip scrub which is Lush’s Mint Julip and it’s really good. It’s a gritty scrub but not harsh. It makes a lot of difference applying lip balm or lip makeup. Among lip balms I really like Fresh Sugar balm. I would like to try a more organic one, like Ilia.

I got Jack Black’s lip balm and Philosophy’s Kiss me tonight at your recommendation, Christine, and love them.

I’ve tried a number of other balms and most of them just sit on my lips and don’t seem to help add or seal in moisture like Jack Black does. The only other that I’ve tried that was also moisturizing was the Korres lip butters but they don’t have spf and Jack Black has spf 25.

Kiss me tonight isn’t quite as magical but it does stay on all night with a little balm noticeable on my lips in the morning and my lips will be super smooth and hydrated. It’s about $25 and while I could probably use something cheaper, I haven’t even hit halfway through the pot and it’s been about 9 months since I got it.

I use Lush’s lip scrub to exfoliate and Nuxe Reve de Miel balm. I’ve tried the stick version, but I don’t find it quite as good as the potted one (although it’s more convenient to carry). I live in an area that’s bitterly cold in the winter and Nuxe products are lifesavers!

I recently got the Tarte Maracuja Lip Exfoliant and I really like it so far. I am using it at night before bed and noticed a FAST improvement. During the day I use eos lip balm or Fresh Sugar.

This is going to sound disgusting but………nipple cream. Yes, lansinoh lanolin is an amazing lip treatment. For daytime, I love Jack Black.

Nikki Avatar

Hmmmm, I own that nipple cream as a breast-feeding mom. I’m going to have to try it out! Currently my favorite lip treatment is Carmex Everyday Soothing Lip Balm in the squeeze tube.

Paula’s choice lip and body treatment balm. Healed a lifetime of neglect and damage to my lips in two nights. Now for the first time in my life I can wear lipstick and have it look good without jumping through hoops.

I really like the Fresh Lip Scrub for exfoliating and the Rosebud Lip Salve for moisture. I’ve been looking for a lip treatment with SPF in it and haven’t really found a good one yet, though.

For balm, I use Karite Lips, it’s a shea butter based stick balm that’s inexpensive and has worked well for me for years. I’ve also liked Dr.Hauschka’s lip balm, it’s light and smells of roses. I used to use Fresh Sugar Scrub, but now I just grab a teaspoon of coconut oil and brown sugar from the kitchen and use that instead. It works just as well.

Mentholatum! Every night. If I didn’t use it, my lip would split down the middle. I don’t have to use it during the day. I use various lipbalms for that, my favorite being Fresh Sugarplum.

My lips are never in horrible condition unless I’ve been really sick, I just shed a layer of skin on them about every other day, which is a pain.

I think my favorite thing to slather on my lips that might not be immediately obvious as a lip treatment is cocoa butter. I picked up a small tube that had a stick of pure cocoa butter from a clearance bin the end of last winter at Walgreens, and once I warm it up a bit with my fingers so it’s melty, I love to put it on my lips! Feels good, smells good!

I LOVE Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream and Lush’s honey trap lip balm for night time/ “at home” treatments and Burt’s Bees mango butter lip balm for “out and about”.

Keisha Avatar

I make my own lip scrub. My lips are super dry and I find that this gives me good results. I follow it by applying my Neturogena Naturals Lip Balm.
1/2 tsp olive oil, 1tsp honey and 2 tbs white sugar. Just mix together and buff lips for about a minute and remove with damp paper towel then follow with your fav lip balm.

Floz Avatar

Hourglass’ No 28 Lip Treatment Oil is definitely my favourite, it really helps my lips when they’re super dry and cracked. For every day lip balm though, Koress lip butters are lovely or just coconut oil xx

Erica Avatar

Yes! Aquaphor is amazing! I had a gnarly allergic reaction to an eye primer, it was the ONLY thing that didn’t make it worse. It made me a devotee. I slather it on my lips daily.

Kay Avatar

I use Waxelene. Never did like Vaseline for lips, but this natural alternative is just lovely! Summer, winter, day or night, with or without lipstick. Great for dry skin anywhere on the body, gives you that lusciously dewy look. It’s a work horse, and the limited ingredients list is great for people with allergies.

And it helps keep that red lipstick (ooh Armani #400!) in place for smooth full lips, no bleeding outside the lipliner.

Jan Avatar

Didn’t know about most of these. Any good lip moisturizer or balm works for me, but I have to wear something to protect them 100% of the time I’m not in water or they instantly begin to chafe. I hope to find a longer lasting alternative (even if it’s two hours) as I burn thru lip products.

I’ve tried many raved products, both drugstore and high-end, but I finally ended up with Silk Naturals Black Label Smooth and Full Lip Treatment. It does not contain too many synthetic ingredients, inexpensive and it’s really moisturizing. It also gives a subtle natural pink tint without any artificial pigment.
