my answer: I feel like they seem convenient, but they still end up being a product that’s better applied with fingertips or a brush, so then it’s more like a potted cream blush – which I think has a larger surface area usually so it’s easier to get your brush in it! Sometimes they’re not creamy enough to blend out easily.

My only experience with stick blushes were a couple of NARS Multiples – which I disliked. They were impossible to blend so it was rather difficult to use. I have much better luck with cream blushes in pans.
My problem with both stick blushes and stick highlighters (Benefit’s Watts Up) is that unless I’m really careful (and sometimes in spite of being really careful) they can cause my foundation or BB cream to sort of cake and blob up when I try to apply and blend the product. Powder products just seem to work so much better for me and be more “user error-proof”.
Great for a bit of a glow, but better be careful if you are applying the stick over a base of any kind. I find directly applying the stick to the cheek area can sometimes pull up your base. I prefer to use a short duo fibre brush like MAC # 130 for cream cheek product and basically stipple colour on and then ever so lightly sweep up to blend over cheekbones. Fingers work great too.
Also find stick products to be sheerer for the most part than their potted counterpart..perhaps due to attempt to make stick product glide properly.
I think the formula of them doesn’t tend to be as long-lasting as some cream blushes, so they may be convenient to slap on and blend with your fingers but you end up having to touch it up more.
It depends for me. I love the NARS Multiples. I find them super easy to work with. But on the other hand, I don’t love those Tarte Cheek Stains.
I like the NYX blushes. They are priced very well and the colors stay.
I tried Sephora Adapt Blush, well it’s easy to apply and quite lovely on the cheeks. Perfect if you travel too.
I only use them (NARS multiples in particular) as a purse-bag touch-up, not as a regular blush. I think they’re perfect for that…when it’s been a long day and you need a little life in your face, just dab, rub a bit with your fingers, and you’re set. I do love them for that purpose, though. My multiples definitely get use on long days!
I have never used these as they have never appealed but I have thought about purchasing a NARS multiple and the keep as purse touch-up thing is genius. Thanks for a great idea!!!
I use a brush for everything, so it doesn’t really matter if it’s in a pan or a stick. The only issue I have with them is the same for any cream (or liquid) face product, and that is they aren’t ideal for touch ups if powder has been used. What I do like about them is they tend to provide a sheer, dewy finish, and I don’t have to worry about them shattering if dropped.
I can’t use blushes or highlighters that are creamy at all – they tend to sit uncomfortably on my cheeks and are fiddly to blend.
I am not a fan. I find them to be sheer, sticky, and hard to use with powders. Most of the ones I’ve tried never seem to set and slide around my face and fade quickly. It’s just not a medium I’m comfortable with!
