5 Shades of Autumn for Nails (2013 Edition)
Rebecca suggested a theme of polishes perfect for autumn, and here are my five picks! I wanted to vary the shades so there would (hopefully!) be something for everyone to consider. There were a lot of amazing limited edition shades that caught my eye, but I wanted to stick with shades permanently available.
- Butter London Thames — deep, shimmering teal
- Illamasqua Raindrops — cool, bluish gray with flecks of sparkle/glitter
- Zoya Evvie — muted, stormy green-gray
- Chanel Provocation — muted plum-purple cream
- Guerlain Nahema — orange cream
I’m digging Chanel Taboo and Mysterious this season!
I love deep burgundy and purple for the fall like OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest and Illamasqua Baptiste.
I will definitely be putting a couple of them on my list for future reference, esp the Butter London Color , for the coming months! 🙂
I love so many colours for toes : rich true red creme np, burgundy, deep fuschia, deep blue, vampy red, orange red… My fav are MAC Carine Roitfeld, Dior Marilyn, OPI Germany and Skyfall collec., Guerlain Rouge d’Enfer and 860, Essie Skirting the Issue, Zoya Lara among others.
Chanel Mysterious, definitely. I’ve been wearing it non-stop since it came out two weeks ago!
Butter London Wallis is an absolute favorite and I love it for fall. Zoya Edyta as well. I do own Illamasqua Raindrops so I should break that out!
I love it 🙂
Interesting, you went in almost a completely direction from my choices. I still need Raindrops in my life. I’ve been waiting months for my local Sephora to carry it but they haven’t, so I suppose I’ll need to break down and order it online.
My picks:
Butter London Shag (autumn in a bottle)
Butter London Toff
Deborah Lippmann Single Ladies (or Chanel Rouge Noir but it’s out LE for this year)
Deborah Lippmann Dark Side of the Moon (still one of my top 5 favorites all the time).
OPI You Don’t Know Jacques
Also realizing I still haven’t done a Taboo mani yet, this needs to be remedied.
I don’t wear nail polish, but when I did, I went mostly for more conservative pinks, reds, burgundies, etc.
But there are some fun colors here!
I’m eager to see what will be the “hot” lip colors for fall 2013, too; I’m hoping for more deep reds.
The Butter London Thames is a gorgeous color both summer and fall.
My favorite fall polishes are MAC Chestnut, OPI Lincoln Park After Dark and I’m Not Really A Waitress.
Illanasqua made Raindrops permanent??? Yay! Now I can stop being so stingy with it.XD
I can hardly wait for autumn so I can pull out Suzi Says Da and An Affair in Red Square. But I also really love St. Petersburgundy (I really loved the OPI Russian collection from a while back and wish they’d kept more colours in the permanent line) but I also really, really like Cara Mia Crimson (I think that was also discontinued) and Mrs. O’Leary’s BBQ. A few years ago, Sally Hansen had one of her rapid dry polishes in a shade called Moccachino and I love that one too (still have half a bottle left) and loved the applicator as well. I think that shade was also discontinued. I think I’m cursed. That Chanel polish looks very “crave-able”, Christine.
Fantastic, diverse choices Christine!! No autumn cliches here!
The only one I actually own is Chanel Provocation, but I will be checking out ALL of the others! I’ve had my eye on Thames for a while, though. Butter does some gorgeous blues. And I’ve been curious about the Guerlain polishes. I will have to find your reviews..
Thanks for the out of the ordinary options!
Thames is such a great shade!!
I usually don’t wear certain shades during certain seasons, but if I had to pick my top 5 for fall, they’d be the following:
1) Dior – Galaxie (LE, but still available)
2) Zoya – Jem (permanent)
3) OPI – Bogota Blackberry (discontinued, easily found on eBay for under $10)
4) Essie – After School Boy Blazer (I think it might be LE, but it’s my new favorite navy because of it’s stellar formula)
5) Chanel – Accessoire (permanent)
Zoya and Chanel nail polishes are very pretty!! My nail polishes for this autumn will be China Glaze Purr-fect Plum and Foie Gras, I love this shades!! Hugs from France <3
I love deep, dark vampy shades for fall, after a summer of corals and pinks. My favourites are OPI’s Every Month is Oktoberfest and Mrs. O’Leary’s BBQ (from the 2005 Chicago collection). I just bought Dior’s Galaxie, a deep, shimmery reddish-plum and can’t wait to wear it. I also like neutrals with an edge, like gray or taupe (OPI’s Berlin There, Done That is fabulous).
Beautiful picks! All so different, but each is perfect for Fall. Definitely want to pick up Illamasqua Raindrops 🙂
Nahema is amazing! My all-time favorite autumn nail polish is China Glaze Zombie Zest.
I love these shades for the Fall esp; the Teal.
