5 Bold Lipsticks for Fall Under $10
If you’re looking for something bold or bright to wear this fall and don’t want to break the bank, here are five of my top picks!
- Revlon Raspberry Pie — a medium-dark, fuchsia-pink with a glossy, luminous finish that’s comfortable to wear and balm-like
- Maybelline Brazen Berry — a brightened fuchsia-magenta with a luminous sheen
- NYX Chic Red — a bold, bright blue-based red with a matte finish
- Revlon Pink Truffle — a plummy brown with a luminous sheen
- Maybelline Very Cherry — a classic blue-based red with a matte finish
Absolutely LOVE Maybelline Brazen Berry & Revlon Pink Truffle. For my skin tone (which is similar to Halle Berry’s-a little more yellow), Pink Truffle is like a nude for me. Actual nude lipsticks never looks right on me. Sometimes even with a tint of nude, I have to add a smidget of pink to balance it out. But anyways, the others on the list is a most get!!
Pink truffle looks really gorgeous!
These posts always give me such great ideas!
Just picked up Maybelline’s Deepest Cherry and Midnight Plum; have Plum Perfect and Plum Paradise on the way. (Found a gap in my lipstick range and had to fill it.) LOVING DC and MP when blotted down…looks incredible. And wasn’t ridiculously expensive…yay Ulta and Walgreens!
I love the Maybelline Brazen Berry and the NYX Chic Red; thanks for sharing.
Pink Truffle is one of my favorite lip colors… I also love Revlon’s matte lipstick in Fabulous Fig and their lip butter in Fig Jam for fall!
Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick in Toast of New York and Rum Raisin. Both are great for fall. Revlon goes on sale all the time at the drugstore.
I think it’s interesting that you chose Pink Truffle as a “bold/bright” shade, that’s actually what I use for my nude, YLBB shade! The rest of the picks seem great though, I’ll definitely be checking out Brazen Berry.
I could see it being more of a MLBB type shade depending on your skin tone 🙂
It sure is an MLBB for me, I’m NC35. <3
I generally opt for higher-end lipsticks, for various reasons, but a good “budget bold” I’ve found is Wet ‘n’ Wild Megalast in Cherry Picking. It’s one of those deep-and-bright-at-the-same-time shades. I’d describe the color as a deep vibrant fuchsia red. It really is not for the timid. I’m NW15, and love it, but then again, I’m not timid. 🙂
Sounds so p retty!
^ It really is – it reminds me some of MAC’s discontinued “Glam” matte lipstick. Not Viva Glam, just “Glam,” which was an absolute pigment bomb of an intense rose red lipstick. Every time I wore it, I got compliments, and who doesn’t enjoy that?
Brazen berry looks pretty; I might have to pick it up.
Those are excellent picks! I just discovered Milani Color Statement lipstick in Sangria – its a dupe for MAC Rebel! I like Milani’s formula so much more – it doesn’t dry out my lips like MAC does.
Nice! Glad you found a dupe that works better for you!
Yay for Raspberry Pie! Have been waiting for the weather to change to bring this out from my stash again. I don’t have Pink Truffle, but have picked up Macaroon and Red Velvet which I think would be great for Fall too.
Very Cherry look Very pretty!
I love dark and or bright lipcolor……..:) Im super fair skinned NC15-NC20 and I have decicded that I am going to wear red lips thru all fall/winter this year, THEN I saw the maybelliene plum shades and bought all those too……LOVE lipstick!!!!
^ I’m with you, Mary!
I’m NW15and as far back as I can remember, people have remarked on how “pale” I am, but I don’t care. I LOVE bold, bright, and/or dark lips on me. If I go too pale on the lips, I look downright anemic.
I think we “pale faces” can do bold lips just fine, though I do think it helps if you have full lips; dark very thin lips can look kind of “harsh.”
I actually have four of these–all but the Maybelline! Two other favorites are Revlon Plum Velour (sheer but pigmented) and Milani Sangria (matte).
i love wet n wild’s sugar plum fairy soooo pretty
Loved the lipsticks my favorite is Raspberry Pie!
What a coincidence you mentioned this! Went to Walmart today and they have a nice display of limited edition Maybelline lipsticks, mascara and nail polishes. Maybelline is on point with their Vivids collection. Brazen Berry and Electric orange are fantastic. Today I picked up Maybelline’s Midnight Plum (#1005). Honey, it is fabulous! It is very dark and not for the faint of heart. Channeling Donna Summer with this one and wearing it to work Monday.
I love pink truffle! So true about the skin tones. It looks like a tame red on me, but can be a MLBB shade if I sheer it out!
Bold lips are my go-to look. 🙂 When my skintone is an NW10, I wear bright red and vampy lipstick nearly every day – the contrast makes a powerful statement.
NYX Chic Red is a gorgeous budget red. Some of my other beloved shades are Chanel Pirate, Revlon Red Velvet, NARS Valparaiso, and MAC Potent Fig. 😀
I love Pink Truffle, though I wouldn’t consider it bold. No question, it’s a neutral. A must have though.
I have a fair complexion and am not at all bold with my lip colour choices, and Pink Truffle is a perfect choice for me. I agree that it’s a beautiful choice for fall — or year-round, really — but I would not classify it as bold.
WnW Mega Last in 965 Cherry Picking & 908C Sugar Plum Fairy. The color of Cherry Picking is pretty much identical to Revlon Superlustrous lipstick in Cherries in the Snow, but WnW has a finish that is more matte. I love them both…it depends on the occasion and what look I’m going for. Sugar Plum Fairy is a worthy dupe for MAC Rebel.
I also love Maybelline Vivids in Hot Plum & Vivid Rose!
for those who haven’t tried it, NYX Chic Red is amazing!!! really worth it

I love the Revlon Pink Truffle, I’ve had it for about two weeks and I love the natural look it gives my lip, I think it’s a great transition from summer to fall…
