5 Beautiful Cool-Toned Brown Eyeshadows

Cool-toned browns tend to lean just a little gray, but not gray enough to become taupe.

What’s your favorite cool-toned brown eyeshadow?

I love cool browns, and have lots of them; so many that it’s difficult to single out a “favorite.” MAC Coco pigment, of course, is in a league of its own, so I guess if I had to name one “favorite” cool brown, that one would take the honors.
Also, I recently got Inglot Matte 363, and it’s a beautifully smooth matte cool medium-to-deep brown with maybe the sliiightest splash of mauve/plum. Other wonderful cool browns are MAC Handwritten, MAC Prepped for Glamour, Urban Decay Shakedown, Urban Decay Underground.

I love handwritten, but I would consider it a warm toned brown. At least on me. It pulls very reddish. But I have a very cool skin tone, so even colors that are typically classified as cool pull warm on me.

Hands down, MAC Smut. It’s funny, though, because every time I went to a MAC counter, I never gave it a second look as it looked very boring in the pan. I had so many browns that I didn’t think I needed another one. Then I saw your post on MAC browns, and I decided to swatch it myself. It is now my HG brown. A close second, though, is a tie between Flirt Coconutty, which I have, and NARS Mekong, which I plan to pick up this week.

My eyebrows are probably the same color as yours but i have blond hair. i used to use MAC Espresso and it matched them perfectly but they looked really bold, and i thought that didnt match at all with my hair. i went to my counter and one of the girls tried Charcoal Brown on my eyebrows and i love it! it fills them out perfectly, they dont look ashy or anything and they dont look as bold so that it matches better my blond hair i love that shadow! and it also looks great as a crease color!

I really like Charcoal Brown. It’s such a great contrast shade to the golds and beiges I usually wear. I’m going to try to get Inglot #360 when I go to the Times Square store.

My favorite is “Couture” by Lancôme. I think it’s discontinued… I have it in a quad that was part of a gwp. I find myself using it almost every day. Matte, soft, tons of pigmentation. Very easy to blend. A little goes a long way.

Charcoal Brown from MAC is probably my favorite just because it’s my brow powder, and the absolute perfect color for them that I’ve ever found. For eyeshadows, I tend to favor neutral or warmer toned browns for the most part.
