Valentine’s Day Makeup: Lady Gaga Lips & Purples
Here’s a fun look using Viva Glam Gaga! 
I wanted to warm up the eyes a bit, so I opted for a mix of pinks and purples with gold eyeliner (which was where I drew a lot of the warmth from), to pair it with the cooler pink from the lipstick. Happy Thursday!

You will need the following…
- Eyes: MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot (neutral beige base), MAC Stacked 1! Pigment (light lilac), MAC Stars ‘n Rockets Eyeshadow (fuchsia purple), MAC Lala Eyeshadow (fuchsia pink), MAC Very Violet Eyeshadow (violet purple), MAC Black Tulip Eyeshadow (dark purple), MAC Beautiful Iris Eyeshadow (soft purple), MAC Femme-fi Eyeshadow (neutral highlighter), Urban Decay El Dorado 24/7 Liner (gold), MAC Plushlash Mascara (black)
- Face: Kiehl’s Tinted Moisturizer (Medium )
- Cheeks: MAC Azalea Blossom Blush Ombre (lilac pink)
- Lips: MAC Viva Glam Gaga Lipstick (pale blue-pink), MAC Cultureclash Lipglass (light yellow-pink)
- Brushes: 226 (fluffy crease brush), 219 (pointed crease brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 116 (dense blush brush)
- Substitutes: Stacked 1! Pigment = Kitschmas; Lala = Fuchsia Pigment; Very Violet = Violet Pigment; Black Tulip = Nocturnelle (in this look); Femme-fi = Ricepaper; Azalea Blossom = Well Dressed; Viva Glam Gaga = Snob; Cultureclash = Nymphette (not the best dupe)
For eyes, start by applying Soft Ochre paint pot as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. With the 239 and water-based mixing medium (or water), apply Stacked 1! light lilac pigment all over the lid area. Using the 239, apply Stars ‘n Rockets eyeshadow on the inner third of the eyelid. Next, apply Lala eyeshadow on the middle third of the eyelid and lightly blend with the inner corner. Darken the outer third of the lid with Very Violet eyeshadow with the 239, gently brushing it into the lower crease. Lightly blend Black Tulip eyeshadow, with the 239, on the outer corner and lid. Lightly tap and brush Beautiful Iris eyeshadow directly above the inner tear duct for iridescence. To finish the eyeshadow look, sweep Femme-fi eyeshadow as a highlighter on the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying El Dorado eyeliner on the lower lash line and sweeping lashes with Plushlash mascara.
For cheeks, apply Azalea Blossom blush ombre to the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.
For lips, apply Viva Glam Gaga lipstick first, and then layer Cultureclash lipglass for a complementing lip.

Unfortunately Stars 'n Rockets is pretty unique! The only dupe I know of is Pink Pearl pigment.

I love the eyes in this tutorial, but i think the lips is lacking something. It looks like the Pink is diluted or watery.

Love it, Christine. I've been outta the MAC loop for a while--I haven't even gone to a store yet to check out anything in the whole Amber/Pink/Plum/Coral collection (can't remember what it's called, embarassingly :) ) but you always bring me back! I love the pop of gold on the waterline--purple/pink/gold is a really good combo on you.

Question - What lip colour would you recommend with light purple eye combo of: Shale, Banshee and Shroom??? I have on a very light mix of NARS Mata Hari and Dolce Vita blush. I'm NW15 in MAC. Having problems with lip colour today for some reason...

I agree with Annie... Love the eyes, but I just can't seem to like the lips. Howevah..... You pull off the whole thing just beautifully. :) Dramatic eyes just suit you so well.
You rock every look you do! That lip color seems out of place, but everything just pulls together with the end and your lips are just fearless! On that note, what other glosses do you recomment with viva glam gaga to warm it up?

I would never have thought to pair gold liner with the pink and purple shadows! Might try that next time instead of my usual black or purple liner on the lower lash line. Always do black on the upper but it's fun to mix it up on the lower, right!

I know you got bombarded with possible "dupes" for Lady Gaga's lipstick but how would you compare it with "Fashion Mews" with the Hello Kitty line?
It's similar. It's not 100% the same, because Fashion Mews isn't as pigmented and has more of a lilac tone to it.

Beautiful :) I think the lips would be too cool for me, but I am sure I could figure out something that would work for me. Of course, this makes me want TOO many things from the Spring Forecast collection, urgh! I'm going to head into the nearest mall on Saturday morning and see what I just can't resist . . .

eyes look nice....lip color could use a liner so it wont look washed out.....lipstick is so much better on a tan skin tone. im nc42. looks so great on me. nc 40,nc42,45 etc. if you are fair, wear a liner!

Thanks so much for doing the looks.. Your swatches are great, but I love looking at your makeup looks to see how the shades look in the whole face shot. Gaga lipstick is pretty, but don't think I can pull it off. Snob looks ghostly on me and this would do the same! Dang! :D

I have really small lips, so ANY bold color just never suits me, and then a lot of other colors look weird with my dark red hair. XP
