Ruthless

Deluxe Eyeshadows for the Luxe Lovin’

Urban Decay really outdid themselves this season with the sheer amount of new products they launched! With the fall comes three new shades of their deluxe eyeshadow ($18.00 each) in Freakshow, Ruthless, and Frigid. These are actually some of the first single eyeshadows for me — I’ve mostly just experienced their extremely high-in-value palettes they’ve put out All three shades are smooth, pigmented, and easy to blend.

  • Ruthless is a champagne shade with just a touch of silver sheen.
  • Freakshow is a deep, rich purple with a little bit of red tones to it. It has a cool violet-blue sheen.
  • Frigid is a dark blue with purple mixed in and a soft, silvery-blue sheen.

Anyone else snatch these up yet?

    One word: WANT!
Really bad. The normal UD eyeshadows suck and are a glitter mess, the deluxe shadows are love :D

Really pretty colors, but just looking at the swatches it looks like there is a ton of fallout on Freakshow and Fallout. I wish UD would not put *so* much glitter in their shadows, because otherwise they have some gorgeous colors!!

When you use a brush to apply it, you don’t get any fall out, because it blends right in :)

as a collector of deluxe singles (for the packaging >.>) i have to have these- even though i know i won’t use two out of three of them all the time… but wouldn’t ruthless look great with scratch or underground shadows from UD?

    • Christine

      Saturday, July 18, 2009

I could so see that working!

Do you have any other MAC dupe recommendations? :)

        Saturday, July 18, 2009

Frigid is like Deep Truth, I’d say. Ruthless maybe Ricepaper or All That Glitters? Maybe Naked Lunch, though that’s a bit pinker. Freakshow… nothing really pops out at me!

    • Christine

      Saturday, July 18, 2009

Tilt doesn’t look anything like that on me!

If Frigid is like MAC’s Deep Truth, which do you prefer?
        Which has better color payoff?

I tend to prefer MAC over Urban Decay because I HATE the glitter fall out from UD. I have the UD Bamboo book (Can’t think of what it’s called), and I can’t wear Midnight Cowboy Rides Again, Grifter, OilSlick, Uzi, Kiddie Pool, etc because the damn glitter fallout drives me crazy. The only colors I have from them that I can wear without going crazy is Asphyxia, Sellout, and Half-Baked.

For the record, I tend to wear more mineral makeup these days and I don’t experience fall out with it, but I do with UD! Drives me up the wall!

It’s a little bluer than Deep Truth, though the texture of Frigid is smoother than Deep Truth. They’re both extremely comparable in color, texture, pay off, etc.

            Sunday, July 19, 2009

Hmm, if Deep Truth is a little more purple, I might like that better then. I really like blue-purple shades :)

            • Christine

              Sunday, July 19, 2009

I wouldn’t say Deep Truth has any purple in it, IMO (at least on me), but I have heard some say it shows up with some purple tones to it. For more purple, I go for Contrast. Frigid is bluer in the sense that it’s not quite as dark as Deep Truth :)

Frigid looks like their discontinued eyeshadow in Plague. Does anyone know how ruthless compares to Sin or Maui wowie?

    • Christine

      Saturday, July 18, 2009

I think it’s sort of similar to Sin… but lighter.
