Temptalia’s Smokey Eye Challenge — Mandi, Nepenthe, DeDe, Zsofi, Ariana, & Christy Rock It!

Posted in: Challenges

For August, the challenge is to wear SMOKEY EYES. Check out these six challenge-takers! Don’t forget about the first round of submissions, either.

See six lovely takes on smokey eyes! !

Mandi knows how to use Sweet Sienna to its fullest! She used Sweet Sienna pigment under HIP Steely paint. She applied Carbon in the crease with Shroom on the brow. She paired it with True Romantic Beauty Powder Blush, Fleshpot lipstick, and Bonus Beat lipglass.

Nepenthe goes ultra smokey with black and red!

DeDe calls this look ‘Science Fiction!” She was shy to post, but she says: “I have always been a fan of the smoky eye, whether it’s grays, dark purples or black. I think it is a classic and sexy way to stand out in the crowd. It’s a simple gold in the first 1/2 of lid, a bronze in the middle portion and a dark metallic gray and a black metallic over it. I used a beige on the brow bone for a highlight. The lips is a nude like brown with a gloss.”

Zsofi shows us how to make teals smokey! She used Ben Nye Peacock eyeshadow, BN black pencil, MAC STudio Fix foundation.

Ariana goes black and blue — but in a good way! She used Soft Ochre Pain Pot, Black Tide in the crease, Dazzlelight in the highlight, Sea & Sky (Solid side) all over lid and along lower lash line (with mixing medium sprayed onto brush), Sea & Sky (Marble side) in the inner corners, Feline in water line, Carbon top liner

Christy shares this multi-colored smokey eye! She used UDPP, Pantina Gel-liner in green [base], NYX Lime Green on inner 2/3 of lid, L’oreal HIP Riotous dark green side on outer v, crease, lower lashline, L’oreal HIP Flamboyant golden yellow above crease, inner tearduct, Estee Lauder Neutral 6 as highlight, Rimmel Underground Liquid Liner, VS Beauty Rush lipgloss [a sheer peachy shade].

On the eyes - it’s post haste, from MAC’s matte2 collection. On the lips - it’s half red lip liner (MAC) and then a light line of black (annabelle kohl) inside the half red.. blend, and then a clear gloss over top.

I posted the look here. :)

i LOVE ariana’s look and am going to be trying it asap :)
and i think zsofi’s is beautiful too! just a little constructive crit though - a highlight on the browbone would complete the look! i never used to use highlights and i have a sort of “signature” smokey teal look that i always used to do. anyway, long story short… i didn’t used to highlight, but now that i do, everything looks SO much more tied together :D

i recommend vanilla pigment as i highlight just because it’s quite glitzy and matches the intensity of the teals :)
