Temptalia Asks You – What’s your favorite facial sunscreen?

What’s your favorite facial sunscreen? What’s the best one you’ve found for your face? What makes it so good?
I’ve been using Oil of Olay’s Complete (SPF15), but I just ordered Shisheido’s Face/Body sunscreen (SPF55), so I hope that one works out! The Olay one has lasted me forever, and if Shiseido’s does the same I’ll be happy to pay the price difference.
P.S. – What are your weekend plans? I have a take-home final exam, so I’ll be busy doing that. In fact, I have to start it as soon as it’s distributed at noon today, because I’m headin’ out bright and early Saturday morning to meet up with my girl, Karen, for Nordstrom’s Trend Show. Then, off to my parents’ house to babysit my sister and write the rest of my memo.

Hey! I am in law school too! What year are you? Take Home Finals are the worst. Yours seems pretty early though…is this a legal writing assignment? My finals dont start until Mid December! Good luck on your memo! I have a brief to do this weekend as well.

Oh, fun! I’m a first year, yourself? Yep, it was the legal writing assignment, so it’s not bad at all :) Takes some time, but not nearly as daunting as those 100% worth-of-your-grade finals!

I’m a second year, so i’ve been there! Ironically, i have way more writing assignments now that i am a 2L. I had a summary judgment motion due this week and have an appellate brief due next week. Good luck with your assignment! Enjoy the last few weeks of class left until those crazy finals! :-)

Good luck on your finals, too :)

I’m Japanese-Canadian & have a medium-light complexion, yellow based. I can wear Vichy Capital Soleil Ultra-Fluid Protection SPF20 Fast Drying Formula $23.50CDN, as it doesn’t leave a white cast. It’s active ingredients are Octocrylene, Titanium Dioxide, Avobenzone & Mexoryl SX. Although not oil-free, it doesn’t seem to break out my combo skin. I also like Clinique’s City Block Sheer Oil-free Daily Face Protector SPF25 $21.50. Main ingredients are Titanium Dioxide & Zinc Oxide. It is tinted a light skin tone, which was a surprise, & claims to “help wick away perspiration & absorb extra oil so makeup looks fresher.” Not sure about that, but I can wear it in lieu of foundation, esp on hot days. Supposedly anti-oxidant enriched, OK for sensitive skin, eye area. Both sunscreens have a very faint scent, not particularly noticeable.

I’ll have to look into both, if I can! I’m always in the market for a good sunscreen for the face.

I love murad’s pomegranate moisturizer with spf15. It does a great job and it smells so yummy :)

It sounds like it smells yummy!

Eva’s Essential Protection Oil Free Full Spectrum Sun and Sport Lotion SPF 30 UVA/UVB
Made in Oakland CA, and is NOT tested on animals (apparently a claim many sunscreens can’t make, I googled it).
A lightweight sunscreen rich in botanicals. Great for oily/combo skin during warm weather and perfect for exercise or activities outside.
This weekend :) soccer Mom rutine yet again…no class on Monday since its a holiday weekend which is kinda nice. Also going to hit the fabric store for a pattern to sew a blouse….it will be the hardest project I will have done to date, both nervous and excited. So much time will be put into picking the “perfect” pattern.

Oh, will look into it, Tanya!
I’m glad you have Monday off (and I wish I did, too!), lucky you. Good luck with your new project :)

Sunscreen: Clarins UV Plus SPF 40. I started using this about a year ago and never switched to another product. Love it because it’s never greasy and I can apply any type of foundation/powder over it.
Weekend: I’ll be at home, looking after a sick pet :(
Sunday, November 11, 2007
Nice! I’m going to check Clarins out soon then!
Aww, that’s too bad! I hope your pet is feeling better, or does real soon!

Tonee, hope the sick pet improves over the weekend :(
Its pouring rain here, started right after we won the soccer game….making split-pea soup from scratch. Might even bust out the total super mom skills and bake bread…winter weather like this is perfect for candles, fires in the fireplace and baking.

Tanya – thanks! She’s a little better today but after all those shots, she’s rather groggy and weak. Hopefully she will recover soon!

i use olay total effects moisturizer with sunscreen (spf 15). though it’s a bit heavy when you first apply it but it’s really great when you apply powder.. it’s sooooo smooth .. plus the moisturizer works great.. even if you sweat it will never be greasy.. it works well and im a fan of olay products. nothing can change olay for me at the moment. :)

Isn’t Olay great? I love finding good drugstore products.

sadly i don’t use enought facial sunscreen. i just can’t get myself to apply it,it is sticky, and i have already oily skin… bad habit,i know…
Sunday, November 11, 2007
Ohh, Zsofi! You just need to find the right one – many of them aren’t sticky when they’re specifically formulated for the face :)
Sunday, November 11, 2007
Zsofi, for a totally non-oily sunscreen check out Clinique Super City Block SPF 40, its not oily at all…actually it works sooooo well as a base primer type texture that I don’t wear it cause it leaves the skin feeling almost too dry for my combo skin. Its a nice silky smooth product, totally different feeling that any other sunscreen I have ever felt. If you can get your hands on a sample I really super suggest you try it, I really think you will like it after your bad experiences with other products.

I like good old coppertone oilfree spf 30-45, depending on the day.

It isn’t too heavy for the face?
