Soft Makeup: Sweet with Sugar Plums

Super soft look I did for Mother’s Day!   Quick, easy, and wearable. :)

You will need the following…

For eyes, start by applying Stay Don’t Stray as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. Using the 239, apply Seedy Pearl eyeshadow on the lower lid. Next, apply Shale eyeshadow into the crease with the 226, lightly blending outwards and upwards to fade to the brow bone. With the 239, apply Plum Dressing eyeshadow into the crease directly and then blended towards the outer corner and lid. Blend Vanilla eyeshadow with the crease shade and highlight the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying Almost Noir eyeliner on the lower lash line and finish by sweeping lashes with Opulash mascara.

For cheeks, apply Pink Rebels lustre drops on the apples and upper cheekbones. Then, lightly apply Hipness blush to the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.

For lips, apply Sweetie lipstick first, and then layer Mauve Accent ultra gloss for a complementing lip.

    So pretty!

  4. happybadfish

    Beautiful look.
Have you reviewed the Stay don’t Stray? I have it and am a bit indifferent about it. I don’t mind it as an actual concealor on my face, but I don’t like it around my eyes, and not as an eyeshadow base. I find it is really pro-crease.

    • I haven’t reviewed it – this is the first time I used it. I didn’t experience any creasing, despite wearing the look for around ten hours or so!

  5. Steph B

This is lovely. When I first started wearing eye makeup it was mostly plums. I tend to go more for purples these days but you’ve convinced me to give plums another shot.

  6. I love this look!!! It looks so beautiful! I’m going to do my eyeshadow like this tomorrow.

  7. roxanne

Really pretty Christine! I don’t own Plum Dressing-would Sketch be a good substitute?

  8. Melissa (divinem)

Beautiful look on you. Soft and lovely!

  9. Tiffany

  10. Alex

And don’t you just love the Stay Don’t Stray? I won’t use anything else. It’s really the only one that works for me! :)

im totally loving the eyes, and the liner is a really pretty color.

  19. SB_sweetie

    Beautiful.

  21. Christina

Love it Christine. Can’t wait to try this look out.

Question though, you said you used the 219 brush, but you didn’t say where and how you used it.
    Thanks for this!

    • Sorry, I didn’t use that brush in this look – I just use it in most looks, so it’s in my HTML skeleton for the post. Sorry!

      • Christina

Lol. Don’t even worry about it, its totally fine. I just wanted to make sure so when I do the look, I know what to use!
        Thanks again!

  22. Solangel

This look is simply gorgeous, I wish I had half your talent :)

  23. dallasbrowneyes

You look beautiful in pink! Love the eye shadow combo. It’s a nice ‘build a quad’ selection!!

  24. dallasbrowneyes

It’s also nice to see looks using products from the MAC permanent line…dust ‘em off once in awhile!!

  25. Christine shen

Such a pretty look, love it!
Do you know if “Hipness” is similar to Illamasqua’s “Hussy?”?
    Thanks!

  26. Diana B

I love this look on you it’s soooo girly.

  27. Pretty! Sweetie lipstick looks so good on you– natural but with some color, you know? It always looks kind og bright on me. Hipness blush looks kind of like Benefit Coralista, one of my favs.

  28. Lilly

Love this look!!! now i know another way to wear plum dressing e/s, thanks Christine.

  29. CeeBee

    So pretty!

I recently got Seedy Pearl and will have to try this!! I’m loving Almost Noir liner as well – I wear it more than any of the other pearlglides, which surprised me a bit as I was so sure I’d like the others more…

Loving the lip combo as well, it’s just gorgeous! It almost perfectly matches your top too! :-)

  30. oh my gosh, this is so romantic and pretty!

  31. Catherine

I love this so much. I’m going to have to go out and buy the shadows I don’t own in this look just to copy you! ;)

  32. Lupe

Love the look! very pretty on you, I’m going to try it myself

  33. Ashley

This is so pretty! I love how soft it is, and Almost Noir looks fantastic with it!

  34. Niki

Can you think of any dupes for Seedy Pearl and Plum Dressing?

  35. Awww man, you make me wish I had bought that Almost Noir liner now :D

  37. Anne

I love the way you used red-toned shadows without ending up looking like you’d been up all night! You’re a very talented makeup artist!

  38. Sara

    hello beautiful =)

  39. Diana Lau

gorgeous! i love how the liner matches perfectly

  40. shontay

Gorgeous Christine! I really don’t do the whole matching shadow with clothes thing, but you do it so damn well :). You’re making me want those silly Lustre Drops. Which shade should I get? I am NC45, Neutral-leaning more towards cool.

    • LOL! Thank you, Shontay :)

Hmm, I think you could rock either, honest. They’re both great, versatile shades. Pink Rebel is a little more complementing to cooler tones.

  41. Susy

This is really beautiful and it looks so pretty on you!! Thanks for sharing all your looks and your knowledge, it’s really helpful! :D

  42. Patty

    Very pretty!

  43. claudia

Oh this is so gorgeous, Christine ! I’m sorry I didn’t get Almost Noir, it’s lovely !

  44. AZ

this looks amazing on you! plum dressing was one of the first mac eyeshadows i purchased but unfortunately it looks horrible on me haha. im glad it looks great on someone!

  45. LNU

That liner looks so much like 1999 in UD 24/7.

  46. Hannah

OMG so gorgeous! Love the colours :)
Almost noir looks amazing! Are there any dupes for it, like maybe from urban decay? Or is rave pearlglide similar (doubt it but worth a try!)
also is hipness a dupe for coralista because I dont want to become adicted to a limited edition colour…

  47. CeeBee

Hi Christine – I tried a dupe of this today but with purple instead of plum.
Used Seedy Pearl over Bare Study Paint pot, two purple shades from the Dior Purple Crystal quint, a smidge of MAC Mystical Mist in the crease and lined lower lash line with Designer Purple. Permaplum on the upper lashline.

Thanks so much for the inspiration!!! :)

  48. Mandy

This is by far my most favorite look you have ever done, Christine! I am completely speechless!

  49. I love this look! This is not good for my wallet, I really want these colours! ^^
