Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss Reviews, Photos, Swatches (Berry Allure, Kiss Me Coral, Pango Peach)
Revlon Berry Allure Super Lustrous Lipgloss
Revlon Berry Allure Super Lustrous Lipgloss ($7.99 for 0.13 fl. oz.) is a darkened, fuchsia pink with no shimmer. It looks purpler and more berry-like in the tube, but applied, it turned rather fuchsia/pink. It had semi-sheer color coverage, and it was only somewhat even when applied (it made my lips look splotchy). Berry Allure lasted two and a half hours on me. MAC Call Me Gorgeous is similar, has more shimmer. L’Oreal Dazzle Me has more shimmer. Chanel Pink Pulsion is less pigmented. Bobbi Brown Electric Violet is similar in tint but has shimmer. See comparison swatches.
Kiss Me Coral Super Lustrous Lipgloss ($7.99 for 0.13 fl. oz.) is a brightened, coral-red with silver/white shimmer and warm undertones. It had semi-opaque color coverage that applied fairly evenly. This hue lasted three hours on me. Revlon Papaya is slightly pinker. MAC Whoops is less coral, not as warm-toned. MAC Meteoric is pinker. Guerlain Candy Stripe is very similar. Hourglass Nectar has no shimmer. Burberry Brick Red is warmer, less red. See comparison swatches.
Pango Peach Super Lustrous Lipgloss ($7.99 for 0.13 fl. oz.) is a soft, warm-toned pink-peach with golden shimmer. It had semi-sheer to semi-opaque color payoff. This shade lasted two hours on me. MAC Strange Potion is lighter, more pigmented. MAC Richer, Lusher is lighter, creamier. MAC Dynasty at Dusk is slightly lighter. MAC Meteoric is pinker. Guerlain Frizzy Mango is similar. Chanel Nakkar is less shimmery. Burberry Cameo Pink is brighter, more opaque. Bobbi Brown Citrus is more shimmery. See comparison swatches.
Though I haven’t reviewed any previously on the blog, I do have a few (that I always intended to review!) in the original formula. The original formula contained 0.20 fl. oz., had a fruity scent (all of the new ones I bought were unscented even when I sniffed from the tube), were sticky (the new ones are completely non-sticky), and contained SPF 15 (the new formula has no SPF rating). Generally speaking, I think the formula improved, but the decrease in size is, of course, not one of the areas they improved on.
The new formula’s texture is lightweight, thin, and comfortable to wear. It is non-sticky, and all three were lightly hydrating when I wore them. After about two hours of wear, there is a very, very light tackiness but I wouldn’t go as far as calling it tacky. I couldn’t detect any scent or flavor to the gloss (and no waxy or plastic-like scent either). It has an angled, doe-foot applicator and comes inside a large, round-shaped plastic tube.

Was planning to pick up Kiss Me Coral but I put it back. Your swatches sealed the deal! I must have it!
Hope you love it!
I bought the pinky nude shade and it is quite nice. I hated the previous Super Lustrous glosses, the texture and the scent did not appeal to me. I like the new formulation and the new colors a lot better. Thanks for doing more drugstore reviews, they’re my favorite!
Yay!!
I would just like to say that I really appreciate that you put a full-face photo in with your lip swatches. I don’t know if it’s just me or what, but I get such a better feel for the color when I see a full-face! Your care for your readers comes across in every post and it is so fantastic!
Thanks, Nikki! Glad you like them!
I definitely agree! The full-face photo makes SUCH a difference!
I picked up a bunch of these recently. I really love them. They’re very moisturizing on me and not many lip products are, especially at this price range. The decrease in quantity doesn’t really bother me, but I do wish they had a bit more pigmentation.
The pigmentation seems to vary across the shades!
Very true. I feel like the the darker shades and the red one, fatal apple, were fairly pigmented on me. But I felt like the old formula had a tad more pigmentation across the board, which was really nice if you have very pigmented lips like myself. Thanks for doing these drugstore reviews recently. It’s great to see how they stack up against high end products.
Pango Peach is gorgeous 🙂
Darn, I didn’t realize they were reformulating these. I kept seeing them fly off the shelves and assumed they must have been on sale, not that they had been rebooted. Glad to hear the formula is improved, at least! The size decrease is a shame, but I admit it’s rare for me to finish a gloss before tossing it, so that’s not a major issue. I just hope they didn’t discontinue Pink Whisper, else I’ll have to grab a backup if possible. 🙂
I don’t think Pink Whisper is part of the new 12! You can check Revlon’s website or ULTA (linked in this post) as they have the new shade range up!
I thought it might have been, since I didn’t see it in the Revlon display at my CVS. Time to do some store hopping to see if I can find it. Thank you for the heads up, though!
Drugstore.com still has Pink Whisper in stock, and it is on sale! http://www.drugstore.com/revlon-super-lustrous-lipgloss-pink-whisper-130/qxp217414?catid=183585
I’m happy you’re reviewing these! I just bought Super Natural, a mauve-nude MLBB color with no shimmer, and I’m impressed at how moisturizing it is. It actually leaves my lips feeling as hydrated as if I’d been wearing lip balm, which was not the case with the old formula. But it’s a shame that some of the popular colors from the old Super Lustrous line (Coral Reef, for instance) seem to have been discontinued…
In any case, Kiss Me Coral is a gorgeous color, and I’m really tempted to pick it up.
I definitely like the lighter formulas brands have been coming out with – I used to have no issues with the thickness and tackiness of MAC Lipglass but now I just wish they’d revamp it!
Kiss Me Coral looks amazing!
Why did they mess with something was great already? Ugh
Love the shade Berry allure and Pango Peach! so pretty!
All of them look great on you, but I did notice that the color payoff of Berry Allure was splotchy. Is it just me?
Anyway, particularly loving Kiss Me Coral, and it looks so nice on you!
Hi Verily,
I mentioned this in the review: “It had semi-sheer color coverage, and it was only somewhat even when applied (it made my lips look splotchy).”
Whoops, missed that! Thanks! 🙂
I had an allergic reaction to a Revlon super lustrous lipgloss once, and I HATED the scent (honestly I hate how most drugstore lipcolours smell!). I might check the new formula out, none of these grab me yet though 😛
I don’t like a lot of the really fruity scents – they always come off super syrupy sweet and synthetic to me! The good news is most drugstore lip products have always seemed to lose their scent quickly!
Have you ever smelled any of The Balms lip colours? They all gave me a raging headache! Including the lipsticks, which didn’t even seemed scented, just odd smelling!
I guess this explains why the original Super Lustrous glosses were on clearance at the grocery store. Too bad Berry Allure doesn’t apply very well it’s the color that appeals the most to me.
Yeah – some of these semi-sheer creams do that on me – where they look splotchy. No idea why. It was the first one I applied, so it was definitely not an issue of my lips turning red from swatching or anything like that. (I used to think that was why, but alas, I don’t think so!)
My mom just bought Kiss Me Coral and loves it. She was trying to talk me into it haha.
Haha! It didn’t work, eh?
What the heck kinda name is pango peach
Hmm I’m sad they changed the formula. I liked it!
