NYX Vixen Lipgloss

The Sultry Season: NYX Vixen Lip Gloss

NYX Vixen (116) Lip Gloss ($5.50 for 0.53 fl. oz.) is a semi-opaque, brown burgundy shimmered with muted red sparkle. It’s not totally opaque, so it does have a tendency to settle into lip lines, but it looks pretty good from a normal viewing distance, so it’s not particularly bothersome. This gloss was scent-free, but in the past, I’ve NYX glosses that have smelled like plastic as well as synthetic berry. If you’re not sensitive to those scents, this is an affordable gloss to get you into the holiday spirit.

Is this the right berry for you? Would you wear it?

The Sultry Season is a series of posts featuring deep, rich shades of brown, berry, plum, and wine lipsticks and lipglosses — just right for autumn — that runs through October 2010.

I prefer NYX Burgundy or Garnet Mega glosses because those are beautiful jewel tone shades with a lot of pigment. They are really stunning for the price!

what is the turquoise/blue eyeliner you use, it's really pretty :]

OoooOoooooh, this, I like! Christine - do you use liner with gloss?

What color eyeliner are you using?

I believe it's Urban Decay Covet!

Does it apply evenly? I love some of NYX's lipstick shades, but I find the application to be horrible. For example, Pumpkin Pie just settles into lip lines like no other lipstick I've experienced.

I believe I mentioned this shade settles a bit in the review :)

Pretty color, though it drives me crazy when lip products settle into lines... And I already have Illamasqua Hermetic, so I probably don't need something so similar. What eyeliner are you wearing, Christine? It looks gorgeous with the deep vampy red!

Chris, I wonder if it is similar to MAC´s Dazzleglass Creme Amorous??? thanks!

What are you wearing on your eyes here? That's a pretty green.

Wonderful on your hand, poorly pigmented on lips. I skip this.

I have this! It's such a pretty color!

Very nice colour and at that price? I would totally buy it. A very sexy colour indeed. :)

I love, love, LOVE this color!!!

It looks a bit sheer in the close up but from the other picture, it seems gorgeous!

NYX Vixen is one of my faves. I sometimes wear it with MAC Amorous Dazzleglass Creme on top. Gorgeous!

Looks a lot like a sheerer version of Illamasqua's Hermetic Intense Lipgloss.

It looks like a really pretty color.. I wonder if you apply a lip primer or perhaps even a lip balm if it would still settle into the lines as much?? I'm just curious.. I've never tried the NYX glosses.. :)

You would want a line filler, to minimize lip lines :)

oh its a pretty color. Dont think it would look ok on me though.

I have a few lipglosses from NYX...I wouldn't say this is one of their better ones at all. But then again, I prefer a smoother finish. I hate when lipglosses settle into lip lines and look splotchy.

It looks very pretty on you.

This is a pretty color and the fact that I get pretty good wear out of these compared to other brand is good too. Does this color color compare to wrong spell in any way?

It's similar - probably berrier :)
