Dust off those credit cards, To the Beach has now launched online @ MACCosmetics.com. But you have to be SNEAKY. The full, splashy page is now up on the website! The collection may officially go live tonight or tomorrow morning… Live! It’s up on both the U.S. and Canadian websites.
Marine Life sold out at approximately 5pm PST on the MAC website; it looks like it sold out within two to three hours. It sold out on Tuesday afternoon on the Canadian MAC website; Tuesday morning on Nordstrom.

Does anyone have as much as fun as I do guessing what will sell out? I didn’t see it coming, but Easy Lounger is sold out (on the U.S. site). Sand & Sun is sold out, which isn’t too surprising, but I will am eager to hear the reviews on it since I had to dig into it to get any color to show up… even on a base. Hipness is gone now as well–definitely expected–can’t believe it took so long!

Try BEACH or TOTHEBEACH. They usually have one for each new collection, and MAC isn’t exactly covert OPs about it. I think Pret-a-Papier’s was PAPIER, for example!

If you think you’ll use Pink Rebel a lot… maybe. If you use it for the body, I could see someone finishing, not so much if it’s for the face.
Do you wear your lipsticks a lot? Like a back-up for me is silly, nearly all the time, but if you see yourself wearing it 1-2x a week, then sure.

I just ordered Marine Life, Thrills, and Funbathing. I can check the rest out in person this weekend, but those were the ones I really wanted.
Hopefully they will ship soon. I usually get mine the day after it ships and I’m feeling impatient. lol
It’s not fair that us Canadians have to wait. If it comes out tomorrow then both US and Canada should get it tomorrow or both a bit early.
I believe the stock is different, though? so if that is the case, it does not matter, Canadians will have their own stock separated out. Do your orders typically ship out of the U.S. or from a Canadian facility? I’m not sure who maintains the websites, whether it’s one team or if there are regional/national teams, which would explain why the U.S. site has it up now and the Canadian doesn’t.
I’m not sure that might be the case though. My orders always come from Ontario. Sometimes if you place an order over the phone it’s possible you’d be able to get newer collection items early but not always. I guess I’ll just wait until tomorrow morning.
WTF! I am going to cry. The MAC site does not accept out of the country credit cards. I went through the ENTIRE process, was having it all shipped to a pal and WHAMMO! No can do.

Oh I totally forgot to ask you about Flurry of Fun. Is it like Kumquat? I fell SO hard for Kumquat because on my lips it looks bronzey, golden due to my natural lip color and not orange. So I was hoping Flurry of Fun had a similar effect because I can’t find another Kumquat!
Ehhh, not really. It’s more tangerine – definitely more on the orange side, I’d say, in comparison. It has the cool teal glitter, but not so much like Kumquat

I ordered Marine Life and Flurry of Fun about 45 minutes ago or so, now I just looked again and Marine Life is sold out. Does that mean I might not get mine, or will I get it since it didn’t say sold out when I ordered?
You probably should – I think they worked out some kinks in the system so the counter is more accurate. There is a chance that anyone who ordered the 1/2 hour before it sold out may be out of luck – but we’ll have to wait and see.
I got an e-mail saying that it’s temporarily out of stock and should ship within 2 weeks. I’m hoping that means that they really will ship it eventually.

i have a quick question. i am having trouble deciding on the lustre drops. I was wondering if you knew if Benefit High Beam is close to Pink Rebel lustre drops.
High Beam is similar — it’s paler, icier – doesn’t quite have the golden-peach-pink thing going on, but they’re close.
I bought Hipness, Easy Lounger, and a bronzer in refined golden! I can’t wait!!

The sad thing about Marine Life being sold out so fast is that I’m willing to bet that greedy people where buying them up by the truckloads just to resell them at 3x the amount. The same thing happened with Ripe Peach.

The U.S. site got a face lift quite awhile ago – I think last year or the year before. I have no idea why it hasn’t been updated across the other country websites, to be honest.
The UK site is like that too, but personally I prefer our good ol’ Canadian site. There’s less loading because less fancy, so I can grab and go faster =P
I agree! I miss the quickness of the old site, but what I miss most is indication that they’re LE, permanent, or DC…

Yep – it reminds me of Barbie for MAC, but it was kind of worse… because it went online around 9PM PST on the Monday, and MAC didn’t even send out the email notification (to the people who signed up SPECIFICALLY to be notified of the Barbie launch) until about 18+ hours later

It really depends — it very well could be. Nordstrom & Macy’s should put their stuff online in the next day or two, and I believe their stock is separate (like each store buys their quantity and fulfills their orders).

Lot of other stuff looked nice but I want to only get thing I know I will use & not just because it looks nice. Congrats to all who got the Marine Life.

It’s kind of the same chartreuse-y green, but it’s yellower – more like Rated R than Lucky Green. It’s beautifu, though, so if you enjoy that shade… I think you will still like it.
I called MAC earlier and they said that was a “test” page and not the real launch yet. I doubt they are really going to let it be sold out when it isn’t even offically online yet. It never even was posted to MACPro like I said earlier.
If that’s the case, they’re going to have thousands of pretty pissed off customers – you can go under each category, like eyeshadows, or search for the products and get to it – they have done instances where they’ve put products up and have it say ‘Coming soon!’ rather than allow you to purchase & send you a confirmation.

I’ve seen a lot of collections go online via search, and not a big splashy page, so it would be a big surprise if they did that. Usually it’s on the website, even with the big splashy page, before the mass email goes out!

Yes, I think even if it was a test (though I don’t think it was, given past experiences as a baseline), I would imagine they would honor those who already ordered first.
Agreed! I can see the “coming soon” thing… but if it were just a test, I doubt MAC would let us add to our cart, take us all the way through checkout, send us confirmation emails, AND add the items to our previously purchased list.
Maybe if it were really a test, it was just a test to see what would sell the most, to see if they had to make more of a certain product. Or maybe it was just a test batch, and they’ll add the rest of their stock to the website for the official launch!

i ordered Marine Life and i just received an email saying that its out of stock
and that they will try to ship it within 2 weeks, i think i will call my macys and put it on hold if possible and cancel my online order…..if i wait, will my product arrive?
I’m not 100% sure — I would probably call maccosmetics.com customer service tomorrow and ask if it’s 100% guaranteed.
I called MAC this morning and they said that its available online on the 26th!! Ugh!
I called Nordstroms and pre-ordered the last 2 Marine Life Powder. Although the guy was kinda confused with what he’s doing. Hopefully, he did place my order!

anyways…i wanted to know what you though..which bronzer would be better for my nw20ish complexion, the beach bronze cream bronzer or one of the powder bronzers in the collection. I am new to mac bronzers and i want something natural looking

I got a confirmation email saying I would be shipped a Marine Life, and just a little while ago got another email saying it was “regrettably” out of stock and that they expected it to ship within two weeks…so there might be a restock! Unless that’s MAC just letting me down easy…but there might be hope for all of us that don’t live by a counter or major department store!

I’m having a similar, yet kind of different issue. I ordered Marine Life, got the confirmation email… got NO out-of-stock email. But the product isn’t showing up in my “Previously Purchased,” though the rest of my order is. Strange….

No ship email yet… ordered at around 640pm EST today. I mean, if I don’t get it or have to wait two weeks, no biggie. Just perplexing that it’s not in my previously purchased when the rest are!
Yeah, I haven’t gotten any ship notice yet & I did 2-day shipping, so it *should* ship soon… then again, typically when I do 2-day or overnight, they don’t tell me it’s shipped until after it’s arrived, lol!
OMG same here! I get the “ohey we shipped your stuff” and then I look outside and it’s there. Wacky. Had a thought as to why it’s not in previously purchased… maybe because it’s sold out? I ordered Ripe Peach online a while back and that’s poofed off my previous list as well. HRM. The world may never know.

They pre-sold all the rest. I think what was more annoying is I’ve never really heard of MAC *stores* doing such excessive pre-sales/pre-orders, so I didn’t think to do so. Nonetheless, it looks like they pre-sold maybe 10-15. Considering unveilings are attended by 100+ people…
Yiiiiipes! I emailed MAC last night since it was too late to call… they said Marine Life is definitely in my order! -happy dance-
So I placed my order for Marine Life (as well as some other items) at 7:38pm Eastern. Looks like I got it just before it sold out. Buuut!
Two hours later I got a Backorder Notice about Marine Life (but not any of the other items I ordered) via e-mail. It said the following:
“Regrettably, we are unable to fulfill your order for the following item(s) as it is temporarily out-of-stock. We expect to ship the item(s) below within two weeks.”
Sooo lame that I may have to wait awhile
But maybe it’s good news for everyone else as it looks like they are planning to restock.
Sounds like it could also be a case of they’re not 100% sure that they have stock to fulfill orders, too. Like anyone at the tail end of when it sold out may get that email so they can ensure they have the stock they need to fulfill the orders they took.
I had that happen on another item recently and it took about a week for it to be back in stock!
This happened to me with some liberty of london items and it took 2 months for them to arrive. They didn’t bill me or send me a shipping e-mail though?! but hey free MAC, I’m not complaining
Well it’s official, they’re all out. A new e-mail came in today to let me know that the Marine Life was no longer available and to apologize for being unable to fill that part of my order.
I have to say, I’m pretty sad

Hey guys! MAC just posted the collection online for Canada around 8:30 this morning!
I ordered Marine Life right you posted the collection was online. I fully intend on purchasing more items from the collection but, payday is still a week away. As it stands, I have 13 more random items sitting in my shopping bag just waiting to be purchased. I was so excited to get Marine Life before it sold out that I forgot to look for a free shipping code!
