Yes I am also in Australia, and seing it costs double over here, I will only get a few products. Love the look of this collection, very classy and nautical at the same time. Reminds me of a 50′s theme for some reason.
Aiee! It’s just too much. I’m feeling a bit dizzy after having looked at all those stripes lol. My initial reaction is that these products look old-fashioned but not in a good way. I really couldn’t see myself wearing eyeshadow colours like that in the summer. I’ll be passing on this.
That was my reaction too, old fashioned. The navy blue packaging keeps screaming “it’s the 80′s again” and not in a good way. And navy blue eyeshadow for summer? No.
The only thing that looks interesting here is that Barefoot eyeshadow, other than that it all looks like a pass for me
Have to say, I don’t like the packaging – the design is way too ‘busy’ and hurts my eyes.
Just a few bits there I like, thank goodness. MAC has been putting out way too many collections lately, and I just can’t afford to buy all the bits I would like

I wish I was more excited by the colour story. I’m disappointed that this is the flagship collection for summer, or so I’m assuming by the size. I can see tons of this heading straight to the CCOs to be totally honest.

I realize the eye colours are brighter and more jewel toned, but Naughty Nauticals wasn’t that long ago. Another disappointment from MAC.
Do you find that MAC seems to recycle themes every few years??
But in fashion alone do you not feel that the sailor theme comes around EVERY summer? Not that I’m complaining cos I love it but everyones recycles!
Brenda, what I also find funny is that the name “Hey, Sailor” was also a name from one of the glosses in the Naughty Nauticals Collection! LOL.

High-Light Powder in Crew is the only thing I’m interested in this collection in terms of product. Gone Sailing Tote is really cute however and maybe the first one I liked from MAC other then the HK on.

I was so excited for this collection, hoping that they would repromote Shore Leave eyeshadow from Naughty Nauticals and I could stop obsessively saving the one I have now. Then I see “Shore Leave” and get all excited, until I realize that it’s a lip pencil?!?!? Not cool, MAC. Not cool.
I agree. Shore Leave eyeshadow is great. To have the name recycled to describe a lip pencil? Piff!
Well, given that the whole collection is named the same as the Hey Sailor lipglass… which isn’t even in the launch… somehow it’s not surprising.

I will demur about one thing: The packaging makes me, er, sea-sick. No, really, I feel dizzy looking at it!
Dazzle camo! The navy used to paint the bottoms of ships like that to confuse enemy submarines. (Many decades later some clothing manufacturer used it to pattern a very unfortunate pair of stirrup pants that ten-year-old me inexplicably got at the Bon-Ton, and then wanted to vomit every time I saw them.)
On a nerd level I kind of love the packaging and the bag, but in reality I would just wonder if everyone was crying for the eye bleach.
I want them all (well almost) and I am broke (entirely)!

This is a huge collection! I wonder if MAC will be able to deliver quality with this quantity. The packaging…way too many stripes for my eyes…

What’s the difference between the bronzing powder and the pro bronzing powder?
One is pro and the other is not. (pause) Okay, seriously. I have no idea.
The bronzers are the regular, permanent formula. The Pro Longwear bronzers are new and part of the Pro Longwear line, so they’ll probably have some promise of long wear time. They’ve really been fleshing out the PL line…foundation, concealer, shadows, liners, more lipsticks, glosses, and now the bronzers. I personally LOVE the concealer and glosses, so can’t wait for these bronzers!
I ADORE the packaging. So fun and I love whatever lip the model is wearing in the promo image – maybe a combo of the Red Racer and Send Me Sailing?
Wow, a collection where I don’t want a single thing. It’s funny, I’ve got the exact same coloring as the model but I’m just not feeling the look.
May I just take a moment to say how much I envy you? My first thought on seeing these photos was how much I LOVE the look on the model; it instantly makes me want to be a redhead. But, although fair, I don’t have that slight honey-tone to my skin (I’m just…white), so it wouldn’t work as well with that beautiful orange-red hair. When I did go red for a while, it was a more primary red. Which is cool in it’s own way, but just not the same.
And light blue eyes can pull off medium and dark blue shadow/liner beautifully; I once heard a makeup artist describe it as a “color shadow”, and it is a challenging look to achieve. My light blue/green/grey eyes are too murky to do it properly; and when I sometimes wear very blue contacts, they are too dark for the look.
Anyhow, thus ends my wistful yearning. My only consolation is that you will try this look yourself on my behalf…please? You certainly don’t need anything from this collection, the colors are very dupable. But I hope you will try this look and celebrate your fair titian beauty!
OMG! love the packaging, it is super nice. I am glad there isn’t much products that appeal to me, they all beautiful but I don’t rock the red or orange lip or the frosty shadows anymore. I will get just a few, I already spent a lot in the early collections.

I hate to sound like a fashion snob but I think this collection and the packaging look a little dated.
so far I am loving those navy blue and green eyeshadow! Not sure if I like the navy design on the containers though, but I know me and I know I’ll be crazy to get some of those items…
I guess I will end up saving some money on this one because the only two things I see that interest me are the green eyeshadow and the green eye pencil. However, since the green shadow is a frost I wonder if I have a color in my Yaby pearl palette that will be a close dupe.
Just when I vowed to go on a make-up diet this comes out. Ok, I HAVE TO get me some and then that’s it for at least a year. So far the shadows are awesome as are the pigments and lipsticks. Cute packaging too.

OMG! So excited! I actually really thought I would be bummed out with this collection because when I saw that initial promo pic I totally thought “Oh, Sailor, so… blue and red… great… just like Wonder Woman…” =/ But I am pleasantly surprised!! They have the blue in red in there, but so much more! Plenty to choose from! Should be something in there for everyone! I’m already eyeing a number of colors! Woo Hoo! And I really like the packaging… Granted, the pics with the striped products against the striped backgrounds is a bit much… but, unless you store your makeup against a white and blue striped backdrop (totally possible! ha!) I don’t think it will be an issue once you just have an individual item. Man, I LOVE special packaging collections! Such a sucker!! I can’t help it. =D
Might be interested in Red Racer, but that’s about it.

FINALLY cool limited edition packaging. Honestly I dont even look at a collection from MAC anymore unless it has different packaging. It isn’t worth it to me otherwise, since their lip products make my lips peal and their eyeshadow melt off my lids without a primer. Looks cute. Might check out a blush.

I like the packaging on this, but yet ANOTHER nautical themed collection from MAC? I feel like we get these same colors over and over again in new packaging and are supposed to pretend we are excited because they are shiny and “new”. And this collection contains quite a few permanent products as well… blah, I’ll be skipping this one…

Any guess about what the model is wearing? Love the lips, but I don’t see anything like that in the product descriptions. The reds are described as “yellow red”, that doesn’t look yellow at all to me…

The only thing that interests me is some of the lip products. I will definitely check out: Salute!, Sail La Vie, and Saunter. Depending on the quality of the glosses, I might grab the coral or orange one. I’m not particularly loving the special packaging, which is odd, since I do love Nautical themed stuffs. Hmm.
