Took some photos of the products I picked up on Friday! ;) Above is Lightly Ripe lipstick (gorg!), and then the other photos include three lipglasses (Cult of Cherry, Liqueur, and Rich & Ripe), Spiced Chocolate quad, and Blooming blush (love this!).

Wow, I don’t wear lipstick, but it really is a beautiful color. I love liquer and rich & ripe. When I saw your swatch on it I already loved it. I have a pink reddish lip color, but I prefer something more pinky so these are great..

I’m amazed about Liqueur, since it looked really brown in the swatches posted before, but in the tube it is more like a pink-mauve shade, as far as I can tell…now I’m all over it, but I’ll have to check it out in person, though. Can’t wait to see it in a look :)

It’s kind of a fun color, brown but not overly brown. I’m not at ALL drawn to brown lip colors, but I love Liqueur!

Just got Cult of Cherry, I never thought I would wear a red, but I’m so in love with this color, it is so sexy, I got so many compliments when I wore it out Friday

Can someone tell, me what l/s will work well for more intensity?

It is definitely a sexy red, Lovekills!

You could try Russian Red or even Girl About Town for an intense reddish pink!

Christine (or anyone), would you say that the Blooming blush similar to the Dont Be Shy blush?. coz I have Don’t Be Shy but I’m thinking about Blooming coz its just too pretty on your swatch! :)

Nah, not similar. It’s not cool like Don’t Be shy, and it’s not as blue-pink. Lovely though! And worth getting!

This is a bit of a silly question but how does Lightly Ripe compare to Fafi’s Strawbaby? My puppy got into my make up bag and destroyed mine – which was so annoying! – so I need something to replace mine with!

It’s pinker, not as coral as it!

Could you please create a look using Lightly Ripe l/s and Cult of Cherry l/g.

The Lightly Ripe and Strawbaby is also interesting for me.

    hey christine
coc comes out finally in UK on thurs. Wasn’t planning on buying any lipsticks, but that lightly ripe looks like a paler version of Port Red from NN coll (which I adore). Am I totally wrong on that? Also what are your thoughts on other 2 quads- are they as good as they look?!!

    • Christine

      Tuesday, September 2, 2008

Oh, that’s great that it came out not too late after from the US date. Lightly Ripe doesn’t look anything like Port Red to me, LOL. Do you mean So Scarlet, perhaps? Lightly Ripe is a pale deep pink, not at all red.

The quads were just OK to me – if you don’t have dupes or the permanent/repromoted colors, then they’re pretty good :)

you’re kidding, I feel like I’ve been waiting sooooo long I have seen billions of videos, swatches, reviews and I am dying of excitement!!

Haha yes got confused with the lipstick names, but anyway I’ll have a look and see what I can find… I’ve got my heart set on tempting quad and shadowy lady quad, I hope they are good in person…!

Thanks for brilliant reviews on all the items, so helpful!I’ll have to check blooming as it looks extremely gorgeous on you. I just hope it’s not sparkly as I hate that!

I hope it shows up as nice on me as on you, some reviews say it doesn’t show up…?? I am very pale but I like the bright pink look! Trying to get a more peachy pink into my blush collection though so hopefully this is the one! Otherwise, do you have a rec for when I go in MAC tomorrow? What’s your all-time fave pinky peachy blusher for a pale face?? I am so excited to start hauling!! Thanks so much for replies!

Oh, I think it will :) As far as peachy pink goes, perhaps Peachykeen or Springsheen. Margin is my favorite blush ever :)
