It’s a…4 part set? Kind of obnoxious considering I’ll only care about the fourth set from the looks of it.
I do believe everything is to-be-purchased individually, with the exception of any eyeshadow quads and the pigment stacks, so you don’t have to… buy any sets or anything, at least!
I meant set as in different collections but still, I’m warming up to the idea of a 4 part set being released simultaneously.
I’m loving #2 & #4, and the lip products from #1. Not much of a purple-y person. I saw some really early promo pics of the blush ombres, but I think they may have toned them down since then according to these pics. Can’t wait to see how these products turn out!!

Am going to have to wait for your swatches and hope the pigmentation sucks so I won’t be tempted too much, LOL.
I think everything will be available for the typical length of time (no clue what that is – maybe 1-2 months? or til they run out), but each set is releasing one per week until all four are out.
And yep, Crushed Metal Pigments and the Blush Ombres are both new products — we heard a few rumblings earlier when they were used in some of the Fashion Week face charts!
Are they just stacks of limited edition pigments or are they something totally new?

I am ridiculously excited for this collection. I am extremely interested in the pigment stacks. I’m all about purples so I think the 3rd set is going to be for me….but I do need to branch out a bit more…37 MAC purples might be pushing it haha. Wish this were the holiday collection, i wasnt too impressed this year.

Are the quads in new packaging?? If they are I hope it’s just limited edition packaging and they aren’t changing them permanently..the OCD in me will freak. I’m already saddened by the new packaging change with the pigments.

Ahh, I see what you’re saying now (I didn’t really look that hard at the photo – photo-skipping, if you will) – I imagine it’s just limited edition packaging, since they’ve been playing around with quad packaging quite a lot, but you never know.
Even though change is hard, MAC has changed up their packaging throughout the ears (e.g. the lipstick bullet used to be way, way different!), so it might happen.

I’ve never purchased anything from MAC because I’m just too intimidated, to put it bluntly. (It’s my fave counter to go to the store and play with though!). What’s with all these new launches every couple of weeks? Too easy to get addicted too. They certainly know what they’re doing!
I don’t know how many launches they did this year (will have to count!), but in 2008, they did something like FIFTY.
Me too- well I did buy a concealer that I hate – I think I love playing in their products more than the price . I want the pigment stacks though.

I have no idea – I’ve heard they’re like pigments, but they may stick together more so they have a “crushed” look like Solar Bits.
I get a bad cheap feeling about the “stacked” pigments. I mean, come on! It’s what the cheapest mineral makeup hobby brands use and sell. Doesn’t feel MAC at all :S

I, like, can’t handle this much MAC at one time. Seriously. I am a huge MAC fan but this just seems waaaaaay too “gimmicky” to me. That of course doesn’t mean that I won’t be picking up an item or two, but the gimmicky aspect of it does kinda make me want to buys less of it, you know? Maybe it’s just me!

But this collection doesn’t seem to come out in four different weeks, as far as my information goes. The USA release date is February 11, 2010 and the collection will be presented in four displayers, but no mention of different OCD….so I think it will be a busy counter on Febr. 11th!
well, i know i can at least skip on most of the lipsticks… frost finishes just do not work on me (nc43 with really pigmented lips)!

totally floored by how much STUFF there is… and how much of it i LOVE ^^ i only got a few things from holiday and love lace and will probably skip the rest of the late december/early january collections, so maybe i will not feel so bad about splashing out on these launches? but really, i am still recovering from fall!

i especially love the pink (and i don’t really like pink at all, but you got me, MAC!) and violet sections.
but i have one question, it says that the hush hush rose is a mid-tone blue. does it actually look blue at all? i know it might be too early to really know, but i can’t tell from the picture very well.
Exactly I want the pink Glaze lipsticks because the Glaze finish is softer and gentler even with a bright pink, and I want the purple shows also. But I don’t like pink either!
Purple shows? LOL Sorry people I meant the purple shadow quad or the one purple shadow with the pink collection. But I try hard not to get swayed by pink, once my ebnemy color, and I never liked corals either. Although deep corals would be more flattering.

Everything (e.g. eyeshadows, lipsticks, etc.) are the same price as they normally are. They’ll be on counter for 1-2 months or when it sells out.
