MAC Cosmetics Passions of Red Plum Lips Palette Swatches

Mutual Attraction

Lip swatches of the Holiday 2008 Plum Lips Palette! All were done with a lip brush and LOTS of swipes. I must admit I’m pretty disappointed with the color pay off. I also apologize for unevenness, as they appeared even to me in the mirror, but apparently it was not the case says the macro shot!

Insinuate is lovely. I want this palette. :)

THANK YOU for doing this, because now I won’t bother to pick up this palette. Not that a couple aren’t pretty, they are, but I agree with you, they’re a disappointment.

OH man.. you weren’t kidding.. Thanks girl!

I got the plum lips yesterday, and I’m disappointed with the payoff as well. Insinuate was the reason I bought the palette, and I feel like I’m going to use 1/8th of the amount every time I want to use it. I may return it :/ I was attracted to one of the lipsticks in the Neutral Lips set, the iridescent one? I forget the name of it. I may get that instead!

These are very sheer, but I think they look very pretty on you.

You have to wonder why they made the colors so sheer…maybe so they would suit a larger range of skintones? They are pretty colors though.

Hey, Christine! nice pictures. I think the red plum has more varieties compared to red coral. And took a lot of swipes to get these looks. I like how they decorated their holiday ruby palettes. I’m moved by how smooth your lip surface is, did you use plain ol’ toothbrush to prepare lips? :)

Too bad, I have glosses that are close to those color selections and cheaper. The photos of two palettes have “great” pigment. I don’t even want to think about how the third set-cool pink-would turn out, judging by the picture..

Nope, I didn’t do anything to my lips. My lips, luckily, are pretty OK on their own. I do exfoliate them once a week or so using a sugar scrub.

It’s funny; you can get a great swatch of these colors on your hand, but on the lips? Sheerness!
