Guerlain Sun in the City Collection for Spring/Summer 2012

There is always a time in the middle of every winter when it feels like we haven’t felt the warmth of sunlight in months. While we can’t change the weather, Guerlain is the master of creating a summer sun effect on your complexion, offering a vibrant, radiant glow even in the coldest months.

Terracotta Sun in the City ($70.00) (Limited Edition)

There is always a time in the middle of every winter when it feels like we haven’t felt the warmth of sunlight in months. While we can’t change the weather, Guerlain has always been the master of creating a summer sun effect on your complexion, offering a vibrant, radiant glow even in the coldest of months. New Terracotta Sun in the City is the closest thing to sweeping a ray of sunlight across your face.

This gorgeous palette features brand new compact production technology combined with an innovative powder formula to create an astonishingly light powder. Intensely concentrated gold mother-of-pearl particles capture and reflect light to create a natural-looking radiance without giving an overly iridescent effect. Terracotta Sun in the City has a textured finish to mimic the sun’s rays and feels so silky to the touch it could almost be mistaken for a cream. The universal golden shade is a true skin-enhancing top coat that will leave you with a golden, luminous finish to make you forget the winter doldrums.

Terracotta Blush ($41.00)

The ideal blush creates a slight tan in the complexion that looks as if it is glowing from within and until now, that blush didn’t exist. With the introduction of new Terracotta Blush, Guerlain has perfectly imitated the skin’s natural blushing effect with an easy-to-use formula that leaves the complexion fresh and illuminated for all types of tanned skin. The key is Guerlain’s mother-of-pearl concentrate that adds instant luminosity to the cheekbones for a naturally flushed, youthful glow. Three application options to create your perfect glow: on the cheekbones like a blush, on all prominent areas of the face as a highlighter to sculpt the contours, or over the eyelids as a summer shadow, perfect for sunny nude make-up.

  • Sunny Pink (02) For blondes, this perfect pink will enhance the rosy color of their fair cheeks
  • Spicy Coral (03) For brunettes, this coral shade will add a bright radiance to their olive skin

Terracotta Retractable Bronzing Brush ($39.00)

In its incredibly chic black matte metal case, you will find the perfect bristle density brush for applying just the right amount of Terracotta bronzing powder. It guarantees flawless, streak-free color.

Terracotta Light Bronzing Powder ($50.00)

  • Sun Blondes (04) Pink accents and soft tanned tones, beautifully enhance the naturally rosy color of fair skin
  • Sun Brunettes (05) Enriched with coral touches and warm shades, it adds bright radiance to the golden tan of olive skin

Oh lawd, drooling over the mosaic bronzer! Been wanting to purchase one of their mosaic bronzers for a bit now, but just so hard to fork over the cash. Guerlain powders just feel so incredibly silky smooth, I can’t resist!

  2. While Cruel Gardenia is still available in my country, I think I’d have to skip it for the Sun in the City highlighter. Gorgerous! <3

  3. Eboney

    No swatches?

  4. Dominique

I went to see this new collection, it’s really pretty ! The powder looks like golden/amber silk, it’s amazing. I didn’t buy any product from Guerlain make-up this spring but both spring and summer collections are great.

  5. Elle

I’m really excited about this collection. I can’t wait for it to arrive in Japan~!! ♥

  6. Teri Vogelsberg

Yep, gotta get the blush $ highlighter for sure….

  7. Terracotta, Clay… Another way to get on the mineral branding wagon without sounding Eco-friendly about it haha.

Their kabuki brush looks scratchy to me for some reason.

  8. artemis

have they ever heard of BOTH fair AND warm toned skin?

    • Miss J

Apparently not! I thought the same thing. Apparently, lighter people with warm undertones to many are like unicorns or something.

  9. Tracey

Because all brunettes have “olive skin”?

  10. AnGeLwInGz

I love this! They made it simple and to-the-point with just a few high quality items with specific purposes. I get turned off when a collection has like 2 essential products with a dozen lipsticks, glosses, and pencils thrown together that have been released before under different names.

  11. Kristina

    i heed it all!!!so beautiful products.in waiting…

  12. Jennifer

I was on Nordstrom’s website the other day and they already have it up for sale! :)

  13. Ashley Seme

WOW!!! Am really excited to try the blush, love that it’s not a powder!!! I’ve always wanted to purchase their bronzing powder, but always talk myself out of it, however I really like how this one looks with the mosaic combination of color – I think I will finally purchase!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the post!

  14. I already have the golden glimmer powder and I absolutely adore it!

  15. Eileen

Anyone who is interested should contact their Guerlain counter ASAP. This beautiful Terracotta collection has already arrived and many of the LE items like the Sun in the City Golden Glimmer Powder have already sold out!

this is insanely gorgeous! these might be my first ever guerlain products! Can’t wait for your review, Christine!

  17. Susanne

Actually, the compact powder looks like the ones from Physician’s Formula.

  18. Juli

Gotta love Guerlain. They do things no one else does.

  19. Natt

can’t wait to see your review on Terracotta bronzer

  20. It irritates me how so many beauty companies assume that if you’re blonde you’re fair skinned and if you’re brunette you’ve got to have dark skin…

    • Natt

      agree…
I’m Asian, have brunette not black hair with very fair tone.
No wonder I should go to counter and test them first.

You guys need to relax it’s just their way of naming the colors. If you wear deep throat by NARS does that mean you can deep throat? I don’t think so.

  21. The bronzer is simply Lovely :)

  22. Stephanie t-p

Wow the sun in the city powder is only 66 in Canada :0

  23. I’m loving that bronzer! Ahhhh.

  24. Ivory

Although I don’t think I’ll use it frequently, I have to have Sun in the City highlighter. It is a work of art.

  25. christine

I purchased the new ‘sun blondes 04′ from Nordstrom. Disappointingly, it is the EXACT SAME SHADE(S) as the one from last year/year before named “blondes halees 01″. I put them both together, and am returning this year’s, after being told the shades were totally different. Very disappointed :(
