Dior Or Etoile (217) Rouge Dior Lip Color ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is one of four new and limited edition holiday lip colors from Dior. This shade is a sheer, warm yellow gold with pale gold shimmer. It has a high-shine finish. On lips, it brightens and lightens, while adding warmth and shimmer, but as expected from its sheer swatch, it doesn’t provide much color. I couldn’t think of a lipstick that was quite like this, but it was reminiscent of MAC Luxure, which is a lipgloss, though it is not as warm. NARS Albatross, which is another lipgloss, is also very similar, but it has a glossier finish.
Though Dior lists it as long-wearing, I’d have to disagree; Or Etoile seems to disappear after three hours! The formula on this one is creamy enough to glide across lips and deposits a healthy amount of shimmer on the lips. On the upside, for such a frosted color, it didn’t feel drying over the three hours I wore it.

The Glossover
This kind of lipstick works best for layering, even if it's just with clear gloss, because it will bring it altogether. I wish it wore longer, though, especially for a formula touted as long-wearing.

This looks a LOT like the MAC slimshine in "voile" which is unfortunately discontinued...luckily I have a backup :)

umm...I think this reminds me of MAC slimshine in voile which is discontinued.
I could see that - though the finish would look different since Voile would be super glossy!
uhh my mac lip gelee does a 100times better job than this crappy lipstick can do...
Though gloss and lipstick are different, some may prefer one over the other! I find that the glittery Lip Gelees are SUPER glittery, though, and the effect can be a bit over the top, but this is more understated. Just depends on what you like :)

This is a product I just don't understand. Do they mean for it to be worn alone? I think it would look better layered over something else. It's basically non-existent, except for some gold shimmer. I'll pass. Thank you for the review, though!
You could wear it alone, you could wear it with a little gloss on top for extra shimmer (and a bit longer wear than a sheer gloss), or to layer underneath/on top other colors.

This lipstick looks rather weird in the tube. I don't think I would pay attention to a lipstick that looks yellow at a make-up counter. It looks pretty on the lips though, but it's too expensive in my opinion.
The price one has to pay to buy Dior, I guess!

It's just Chanel Beige Lame on the eyelid, Chanel Tweed Brun on cheeks. It's really nothing!
I thought I would hate this, but it actually looks quite pretty! I like to wear long-wear red lipsticks (the ones you have to paint on lol) and this looks like just the thing to put over them for the holidays!

I didn't think I would like this, but seeing it on you changed my mind...I think I'm too pale to get away with it alone like you do so beautifully, but I bet it would look amazing highlighting a red lipstick or even added to a blush...I may have to go to Nordy's and try it out myself :D
